Things have not been going well for Gray Howard. Her husband just left her for his secretary at work, her mother has died of cancer, and her sister has married an extremist pastor and keeps telling her that divorce is not appropriate and she should reconcile with her soon-to-be ex-husband. Then, she ends up getting a woman fired from a local pharmacy.
Diane Harrington hasn't been doing too well either. She's had a string of bad luck since being a foster child. She's sick of being in loveless relationships with less than desirable men that have no goals in life. She's walked out on the last one. She has hardly any money, no place to go, and she just got fired at her job. It's all some crazy lady's fault. Now she's going to be sleeping in her car.
Lucky thing Gray has a kind heart and takes Diane into her guest house. While Gray is extremely messy and cannot cook, these are things that Diane excels at and can do to help Gray while she stays in the guest house. Together, these two women begin to heal each other and become what each other needs that summer.
This is a beautiful, light read. The characters are true to life and have you rooting for them from the very beginning. If you love Kristy Woodson Harvey, you won't want to miss this one!
I received an advance copy for review. All opinions are my own.
Loved this author. First time reading her. Gray ,Marcy and Diana are not kin to each other but always there for each one. Gray is getting divorced and she’s not sure of what’s up in her life. She by chance meets Diana and they are made to be!! Marcy the neighbor is the therapist and ha...does she have advice ❣️ Their lives are a mess but they seem to guide each other in the right path. Good hearted funny book. I’m going to read more of this author for sure.
I really enjoyed this story!, I felt attached to these characters right from the start! I loved how the main character was attracted to a younger man and how that story ended
I'm a big fan of Kristy Woodson Harvey and this book did not disappoint! I liked the characters and found myself rooting for them as the book went along. I looked forward to picking this book up and had a hard time putting it down.
This book will be perfect for a summer beach read! I highly recommend you add Feels Like Falling to your TBR list.
I adored this book. I love stories that have strong women that hit rock bottom. It is inspiring to journey with them as they pull themselves up and find happiness once again.
I loved the Peach Tree Bluff series so I was super excited to the author's new novel and I wasn't disappointed. Especially loved the female friendships.
A new to me author that I'll be checking out more books by. Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey. A story about lives changing and southern romance. Enjoyed the setting, character dialogue and storylines. A sure win for a great beach read.
This is my first Kristy Woodson Harvey read and I have to say it was everything you would want in a southern fiction novel. The characters, storyline and drama was the best! I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for new authors to fall in love with!
I had a really hard time getting into this book. I was not able to relate to the characters. I started and stopped the noon several times but seas still not able to get into it.
Diana is going to live in Gray's guest house because Gray feels she caused Diana to lose her job. This is a typical Kristy Woodson Harvey story. Set in the Carolina's, focusing on women's friendship and how the past effects the present and future. Grey need's Diana's friendship, her mother just died of cancer, her husband wants a divorce and her sister is married to a cult leader. Together these two strong women navigate a hot summer in North Carolina and grow to trust and love. I enjoy all Ms. Harvey's books. They seem real to life and entirely plausible. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Kristen Woodson Harvey does not know how to write a bad book! She is phenomenal. I love her stories, so I was super excited to get my hands on this ARC.
I love stories that circulate around strong women friendships. Too often we see books where women are competing for a mans attention. Women should be building one another up, not tearing each other down.
This book is about seeing the light in the dark and moving forward.
Wonderful and a must read.
I read this lovely book in 2 days & loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have read some heavy tear jerkers lately and this happy down to earth story was exactly what I needed. Loved this story and it's characters. Ms. Harvey never disappoints and she sure didn't with this book either. Gray is a 34 yr old successful businesswoman going through a divorce after her husband leaves her for a younger woman. She spends her summer at a beach house to regroup. Never did she imagine that summer would be the best one if her life. Diana is a woman who has had a tough life where it always seems like everyone leaves her. She meet Gray in weird circumstances and neither one predicted that they would be exactly what the other one needed. Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery Books for my honest review
Another great book by Kristen Woodson Harvey. Friendship, love, and NC beaches (which I personally love too). I loved all the characters and really enjoyed the story. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review.
I received an ARC through NetGalley. I absolutely loved this story. The emphasis on friendship, and second chances was exactly what I needed to read right now. I appreciated the ending.
An absolute fun beach read. I love Kristy's work and this book held up to every expectation. Perfect for the beach as well as a cold winter day.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
“Feels Like Falling” is a story of rising above the things that could destroy you. Family, friends, love, divorce, neglect, and pain are woven together in a story of two women from two different backgrounds who forge an unlikely friendship. An easy read that leaves you so involved in the characters lives that you want to know more about what happens after the book ends.
Feels like falling is a very emotional tale of two women who are devastated with their lives and come together by chance thereby helping each other unintentionally. Gray, a successful businesswoman facing divorce settlement and loss of her mother to cancer is at a point in life where she is extremely scared to be a single mother. Diana is literally at a worst state possible - no house, no family, no money and no job. But both help each other and get to their deserving happy endings. It is beautifully written with amazing characters - almost all the characters are brilliantly written. Based in NC is always a plus for me and beach setting helps it even better.
It reminds us that even when everything seems to go wrong in life, there is always a ray of hope and it is very much possible that overnight things might start getting better to amazingly good. Both the ladies have life transformations and get some happiness thankfully. It is difficult to not get fully invested with the two lead characters and their lives.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Feels like Falling is the EPITOME of a beach read! This book should be in all women's beach bag this summer. Just be warned, once you start reading it's going to be VERY HARD to put down! Kristy Woodson Harvey is an excellent writer and I was easily sucked into the story. I highly recommend it to all women's fiction fans.

Feels like Falling is a complex, emotional tale of the gifts of relationship bonds among many different personalities and situations. The thread of divorce with a shared child is explored. The thread of family—losing a mother, reconnecting with siblings, loving them despite separations, harsh words, or handicaps is shared. The thread of friends bonded for a long time is expressed with its strength lasting through a variety of situations. The thread of compassion and openness to new friends and new relationships is woven throughout the crocheted net connecting the well-drawn characters. The coastal setting with sand dunes and the ever changing tide is perfect for this “Days of Our Lives” exploration of how ties of unselfish, true love can firmly bind family and friends together—forever., through good and bad times, no matter what.
I got this book to review and share feedback from Netgalley. I had heard of this author from a friend and been wanting to read one of her books.. I really liked her writing style, it was funny, heartfelt and had a lot of depth.. At first I didn’t know where this story was going to go with the two very difficult characters and their backgrounds. I found the storyline a little far fetched but it didn’t deter from me really liking it. The characters were realistic and ones you could root for. I am looking forward to reading her series next.
