Just the right amount of romance, family relationships, and hope to make this book such an enjoyable read. Gray is newly divorced, a successful businesswoman, heading into a summer full of changes. Diana is basically homeless, a young woman who has had to fight her way through a troubled childhood. Their lives intersect and they become as close as sisters. Add in some appealing characters, and you will feel like you have met new friends. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
This is a great story of friendship and second chances. I couldn't put it down. The characters seemed like people you would meet in real life. I need to go read more books by Kristy Woodson Harvey. I hope this is the start of a new series!
We meet the two protagonists at personal low points. Watching them be brave enough to start over with new beginnings is inspiring.
I loved this heart-endearing story! ♥️
One failed marriage with mounting lawyer fees trying to keep her company out of his hands, a job firing, living homeless in a car.. what more could go wrong? Two strong and independent women Gray and Diana each face insurmountable obstacles, both different as night and day, meet and form an unbreakable bond.
Their heartaches and successes were a roller-coaster ride of laughing, crying and cheering right along with them, and I loved Kristy’s portrayal of Diana’s autistic youngest brother Phillip. As a mother of a child on the spectrum it pulled on my heartstrings reading about Diana’s loving relationship with Phillip and the protectiveness she held for him.
Friendship, second chances, forgiveness, and finding that family is one we sometimes create ourselves makes this the perfect summertime (or anytime) read. I simply adored all the remarkable headstrong female characters throughout the book. Highly recommend!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
As always Kristy Woodson Harvey writes about characters and their lives, and she writes in a way so that you can resonate with each and every character throughout the whole book.
I love how her books always prove to be emotional and shows the true meaning of friendship and family. I loved this story, just like all of her other books, and I would recommend this to anyone.
I am a fan of books with two points of view. Kristy Woodson Harvey uses this often in her writing. This is my favorite of her books so far. I just really liked the characters she developed. Both women are similar. They want to be independent and run their own business. Gray has hers and it seemed easy for her. Diana had a poor start and has had to overcome so much. I enjoyed watching them realize the other was the friend they needed. One realized life is not always what you envisioned and the other learns that the past can be fixed. It was a feel good read. Plus it was in North Carolina!!! The best!
Amazing and fun! Another great book - of course - with tons of characters and a lot of good stories. I hope this becomes a series - I have so many questions about what is going to happen! I absolutely recommend this book!!

The second I saw that a new book by this author was available for request on Netgalley, I asked for it. Having read a few books by her already, I knew it was a given that I would like it. At least, I hoped it was. And I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. With each one of her books, including this one, I was immediately connected to the characters as I met them and I was automatically drawn to where the book takes place. I have no idea if her characters are based on people she knows in real life but, to me, they FEEL like people that should exist in the world...so I kind of hope so. The other books I read were very much about family and,in a way, this one is too. Yes, she does have a family but they are not your typical family...she lost her Mom recently, her sister is a drug addict turned religious fanatic and her husband left her for his secretary. All she really has at the moment is her son and her friends...In walks Diana, who brings a whole lot of drama, sass, and insecurities of her own. As Gray is coping with her divorce, she has the love of her old friends but she is also bringing new people into her life...new friends, new love, new HER. What this book teaches you is that friends are the family you choose to have around you. Sometimes that is good enough...and sometimes it is even better. Life is what you make of it and the grass is green where you water it. :) Loved the book.
This was such a feel good story about when youre down on your luck and hoping things will make a turn in the right direction. It was such a feel good read! I fell in love with the characters right away!
This is a lovely book about the turns life can take when you step out of your comfort zone to truly live it. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Woodson Harvey books!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A bit confusing in the beginning and occasionally throughout. Characters got a little confusing at times.
Easy beach read.
Kristy Woodson Harvey wrote a captivating book about second chances through her novel Feels Like Falling. Gray was in the process of a divorce and was figuring out life at her beach house. Diana, a stranger who was down on her luck, guilt tripped Gray into a job. The two became fast friends and learned a lot about life from each other.
The only part of the book I struggled with was the character of Gray. She was the owner of a multi-million dollar business but she struggled to make simple decisions. She relied on everyone else to do everything for her. I found it hard to believe she could build such a successful business when she couldn't even decide if she liked her tennis pro boyfriend.
I absolutely loved this book and am crossing my fingers there will be a sequel! A wonderful story about how you can be at your lowest and the best is still yet to come. Wonderful. strong female characters!
Kristy Woodson Harvey does a great job of drawing in the readers in her southern fiction. This reader couldn't help but feel for the characters in this book, and it felt like I was there with them. It conveys that one can create their family despite different backgrounds with people you meet that you wouldn't expect to become family or friends. This book was engaging, entertaining, and funny at times. It's a very enjoyable read. Thank you NetGalley and Gallery Books for the ARC.
This was such a sweet novel about the ups and downs of life and how it all mixed with those around us. The main characters relationships really made the book for me, I thought each of them were relatable in their own ways and to each their own happy ending!
Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery Books for allowing me to read this title in exchange for an honest review.
I discovered Harvey this summer, and I have LOVED reading her books. "Feels Like Falling" is a fun, excellent, perfect vacation read, and the cover is absolutely adorable. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review this!
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Grey is a self-made millionaire, building her own internet company since her early twenties. She thought she had it all until, while on vacation with her husband, he tells her he's leaving her for another woman...a much younger woman. She is struggling with the hardships of shared custody of their young son. She inadvertently gets Diana fired from her job on the same day as Diana finally decided to leave her loser boyfriend and becomes homeless. Out of guilt, Grey offers Diana a job as her housekeeper and a home in her guesthouse. Guilt soon changes to friendship until they are as close as family as they help support each other with new relationships.
While I enjoyed the book overall and thought it was a fun lighthearted romance, I couldn't stand the character of Grey. She was so shallow and too concerned with appearances. I did like Diana's character, but I didn't like how she dumbed down her speech. I think it was so readers could picture her as the self-described "trailer-trash orphan", but I just thought it was annoying.
Loved this book! She’s one of my fav authors! This one is going to be a summer hit! gray was an awesome character that I loved to get to know.
This book gave me all the feels. Going through a divorce, myself, I could completely relate to main character, Gray (and don't you just love that name!?). This book was entertaining and inspirational, showing that all is not lost when a relationship ends. There are plenty of new beginnings to be found, if one keeps an open heart.
This was such a good story! Kristy Woodson Harvey writes books with such amazing characters you can’t help but grow to love them. This book centers around the lives of 2 characters who come from 2 entirely different worlds. Gray, who has money earned from starting her own business at a young age, and Diana, a woman that’s down and out, sleeping in her car, that grew up in foster care. It’s a story that shows that when you least expect it, you can come across someone who becomes such an important part of your life, they feel like family. It’s about friendship, family and being there for each other. It shows that no matter your age, it’s never too late to find love and happiness. I really enjoyed reading this and would love to read more about these characters. I’m hoping the author decides to turn this into a series. I would love to know if Gray marries Andrew, if Marcy ends up with Price, and if Frank and Diana live their happily ever after. I’d like to thank NetGalley and Gallery, Pocket Books for the opportunity to read an arc in exchange for my honest opinion. I give this 5 stars!
