I grew up reading Nancy comics so when I saw this I had to relive my childhood for a bit. Aunt Fritzi is making cornbread and Nancy wants it all to herself. She schemes and plans ways to get it without getting caught. In the end it all works out and Nancy does the right thing. Illustrations are vivid and will attract any child. Good for children aged 3-6 and a good early reader book.
Nancy is as always a witty and funny child, and this time she comes with a plan to sneak and steal her aunts cornbread!
As a kid that always would want to do something like that, this book was amusing and fun to read!
This was a really clever little read. It's not a continuation of the comic strips, as I at first assumed, but instead a board book, where you have to treat the book in different ways to force the narrative in the way the heroine wants. And that's as clumsily as I can put it without giving anything away, so if you want a very young reader to interact with her or his book in delightfully unexpected ways, then I'd go for this. The brevity of the story may prevent multiple re-readings, but at the same time the demanded actions will be something youngsters will love sharing and showing off about. Four and a half stars.
'Nancy's Genius Plan' by Olivia Jaimes takes the classic characters from Ernie Bushmiller and creates a fun board book for toddlers.
Aunt Fritzi has made cornbread and Nancy has a plan to take it, but she will need the help of her friends and you, the reader. Your part is to knock on the front door and distract Aunt Mitzy. You will also need to turn the book upside down and other things. Once Nancy has the cornbread, she realizes that it's no fun to have no one to share it with.
I've been a fan of these characters for a long time, and it's nice to see them back. The drawings work well for a toddler-aged book, and the activities to do while reading would make for a fun reading experience. This book made me smile.

The book was very short and simple, but I think my kids would have liked the interactions if we had a physical copy.
This is my kind of book! Nancy is a great character and I loved her determination to succeed in her plan. The illustrations were charming. I think any kid or parent reading this book could relate to wanting something the moment it's out of the oven!

This was a cute interactive book. It made me think of when I read the comics as a kid.
Nancy’s Genius Plan
By: Olivia James
First of all this book is a visual delight. It has beautiful color scheme and has the power to engage the young readers with its very creative and unique illustrations.
The main character is Nancy, a little girl with a lot of mischief. Nancy’s aunt has a baked cornbread for everyone but she wants to have it all by her own. She has a plan and needs little help from the readers. This book tells how creative a young mind can be. At the end she reaches the corn bread but is not able to have it alone and wants to share with everyone. This book depicts the mischief and innocence of a child. This book is great for kids from two to five years old.
Thank you so much Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Nancy, Nancy what a greedy ingenious plan indeed. I like the fact that she realized it was lonely and not the right thing to do. So, of course, she needs to invite the rest of her family to enjoy it along with her. Great illustration with vibrant colors, I still believe this little gal has too much of a sweet tooth.

Nancy's Genius Plan was absolutely adorable! It was a cute little interactive story! I will definitely be purchasing a copy for my niece!
This is a funny and entertaining short read that young children will relate to. Nancy wants the cornbread...all of the cornbread. She involves her listeners in ensuring a successful plan of securing this treat for herself, only herself, but what happens? Little ones will be amused to find out as this book provides a nice, not at all preachy lesson on sharing. The illustrations engage the reader and add to the story. Perfect for toddlers who understand the concept of "mine."

This is a super cute, interactive book. I like that the overall lesson is about sharing. It is very short, but probably the perfect length for the average toddler’s attention span. Note: This review will also be posted on Goodreads.
This is a very short book at only 9 pages long
The story was easy to follow but I can only see this being read once, maybe twice
I liked that it was all about how it is more fun to share but it was far too short for me
