I enjoyed this book and the characters. The plot was interesting but something was missing. The motive felt a bit weak - once they found the culprit I found myself thinking Was that it? Still an enjoyable read and a bit calmer than the first book in the series

When orchestra members start dropping like flies, D.I. Clayton and his team must track down whoever is killing them. When it seems to look like revenge killings, they must find some people of interest that have gone missing. As they continue to sift through clues, evidence, and timelines, they find out who has a grudge against the orchestra.

Even though this story reflects a fairly typical police procedural, the story still had a few twists and turns to offer the reader.

Think i have found another new series to follow

I enjoyed this book. A good page turner. Likeable characters. Plenty of twists and turns to keep me interested. I would definitely read the next one of the series. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

A good mystery, entertaining and gripping.
I liked the cast of characters and the well written plot that kept me guessing.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.

It's good to find a policeman who, while fighting crime, isn't also fighting his superiors. A murder of a cellist with the Norwich Orchestra leads DIClayton and his team on an eye opening view of life within the orchestra. Between several members taking tablets for stage fright and others taking recreational drugs, it's not the serene world they expected.

DI Sam Clayton is investigating the case of a murdered member of the Norfolk Festival Orchestra. Cellist Kristina Manning was impaled by her cello spike and soon other musicians are attacked and/or killed, all with musical instruments.
This police procedural did not really hold my attention, neither did any of the characters. Clayton is ok, but the book felt labored and similar to so many other mysteries that I was bored.
I don't think I'll read any others in this series, sorry!
