I’m a huge fan of Shannon Kaiser’s books. She has a way of coming across, while not being so blunt as to make you feel less than. The cover of this one was definitely an eye catcher, and am getting a copy for my shelf.
This one was just as good as everything else I’ve read by this author. Sometimes we forget to see the good, and this book makes you stop and really reflect on the good we have already. It also helps to help us find more ways to make our lives more joyous.
If you need a little boost in the process of joy, look no further. Shannon writes the books for you. I love everything by her, and will continue to keep reading and buying them!
I received a copy of this arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is like a lot of books about joy and finding your path or journey and living it to the fullest.
"The relentless pressure to succeed, measure up, and reach for ever higher goals can leave us feeling like we’re just not good enough—or that something’s missing. At the end of the day, after giving it our all, the last thing we want to feel is hopeless, anxious, and disconnected.."
Great self-help book to give you the push you need!
This book is the best self help book of 2019! I plan on reading this whenever I need to go back in the right direction in life.
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for an ARC this book.
Similar to Kaiser's other books, she encourages others to find their path and continue down it. A great reminder that we are all on our own journey and we are free to own that journey.
A refreshing, helpful take on the self-help genre. A good read. HIghly recommended.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
Joy Seeker is a good self help book that is easy to read. It is broken up into short chapters and has great advice. Well written and interesting.
I enjoyed this book, and I believe it helped me understand my behaviours in new ways. I liked the exercises - I feel that a good self-help book is meaningless unless you actually make a change. I will be introducing some of the changes from completing these exercises.
Go get this book. NOW! I loved Shannon Kaiser's previous books and this one did not disappoint. Shannon has a way about her, writing so positively and meaningfully. What I loved about this book is the book is broken up into sections, and throughout the book there are "Joy Jaunts" which encourage you to journal along as you read. She asks meaningful and thoughtful journal questions which pause the reader for reflection and deeper connection.
There is also a 'summary' at the end of each section: joy buster, how to handle this certain matter, and a daily mantra to reconfirm what you have read. One of my most favourite reads for 2019!
Thanks to Netalley for this opportunity!

I really enjoyed this book. My highlighter definitely got a work out! There were so many quotes that spoke to me. I read as a Ebook, but I will purchase a hardcover to re-read.
I appreciated that the book is broken down into short chapters, making it easy to read one in just a few minutes. The end of each chapter has a radical recap that includes a summary of the chapter and mantra to repeat.
Some of the things expressed are a bit out there for me. But perhaps they are not for me at this stage in my journey and I will appreciate them better at another time in my life.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this title. All opinions expressed are my own.
While I thought this book was good, I don't know that it said anything much different than other "self-help" books I've read in the recent past. It's an easy read with easy to understand concepts such as focusing on your own strengths and not comparing yourself to others, being present in all things in your life and letting go of the past. I liked the authors use of personal stories of her faith and the things in her past that held her back and how she dealt with problems in her life.
This is an easy read book interwoven with anecdotes and personal stories, especially the author's own journey seeking her own joy. It is not a deep book and the instructions and exercises are at a high level and quite brief. It is best suited to people who are new to self help or anyone looking for a 'boost'. Although I didn't really find anything new I thought it was well written and easy to follow.
I really loved this book. I also loved the cover its bright and colorful. I loved finding my "poetry". This book was absolutely wonderful and will help you live a life filled with joy. It will show you what is holding you back and how to overcome it. This book is broken up into sections and each one helps you find more joy. A highly recommended book.
I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
