My rating: 3 of 5 stars, I liked it.

Book 10 in the series.

It was good to finally get a full length story in this series again, and one that answered the questions from the previous book. The novellas published in between all took place before book 9, and just left me annoyed that I still didn't know what was going on with Aunt Jackie!

This time I enjoyed my visit to South Cove, and the mysteries Jill decides to get involved in.

More full length books, please!

A page turner that had me turning them all the way through!

I enjoyed Memories And Murder in this #10 in the series I felt
much more connected with the cast that I did in the previous book.
Jill and her somewhat eccentric aunt are fun characters. In this one Aunt Jackie though is distracted and has everyone who loves her friends and family asking questions when she suddenly breaks her engagement.
As the story unfolds Jill becomes more interested in helping Aunt Jackie since it looks like she is being scammed than annoying her
Detective boyfriend find a murderer.
Although Jill has a hard time completely staying out of it since she doesn't agree with who the prime suspect is.
I think the supporting cast was fun. I liked Deek who is a quirky character in his own right. He was fun and funny and is a good computer geek able to help Jill out with a little sleuthing himself and hold down the fort at the coffee shop for Jill.
It's not long before Jill begins to wonder if the scams are tied to the murder.
Detective boyfriend Greg is keeping 'mums the word' to keep Jill out the snooping and keep her safe.
Not an easy task as which makes a good story. Our girls just gotta solve the crime!

I enjoyed Memories and Murder look forward to reading more in this series.

If you like a good cozy series this one is great to check out!

Jill, the owner of a coffee/book store, is concerned about her aunt. Aunt Jackie has broken off her engagement to Harrold and won’t say why. Because of Jackie’s unwillingness to talk about the break up, Jill has become concerned. She looks for help at the Senior Project but something seems a little off there. When her contact at the Project boyfriend is killed, Jill and her Police Chief boyfriend Greg work to solve the murder.

This is the first book in the series that I have read. Great setting, engaging characters, and a good mystery. I look forward to reading more.

Instead of focusing on visitors to South Cove, Lynn Cahoon has turned the tables a bit and focused on Aunt Jackie and her sudden change of temperament and unexplained break up with her finance Harold.

Elder abuse is the forefront for this tenth book in the Tourist Trap series and when Aunt Jackie starts receiving unexplained phone calls and a helper for the Senior Project is found dead, all hands are on deck to both protect Jackie and to get to the bottom of a vicious scam before anyone else can fall prey.

This is one of those series, with multiple short stories thrown in between, where the reader gets a bit confused as to book order. Fortunately, that doesn’t matter since the characters all stay the same and Lynn Cahoon does her best to keep everyone situated by reminding the reader who everyone is and how they fit within the story.

Memories and Murder by Lynn Cahoon is about Jill Gardner and her elderly aunt, who dumped her besotted fiancé without explanation. Jill hosts a talk at Coffee, Books and More on the topic of elder abuse. The topic hits close to home when Jill realizes her Aunt Jackie is getting mysterious calls. Then a volunteer from the Senior Project is found murdered. Jill’s detective needs to step in to help solve the case. This was a good cozy mystery, Jill had to find out who was scamming her Aunt Jackie with help from her boyfriend. The bookstore sounds great and a place I’d like to visit. Thank you to Net Galley for an opportunity to read and review this book.

Memories and Murder is the 10th book in the Tourist Trap mystery series. I really enjoyed this story about Jill Gardner, owner of Coffee,, Books and More and part time sleuth. Jill is trying to find out why her aunt Jackie has broken off her engagement to her beau Harrold. When Jill uncovers that her aunt is being scammed, she starts investigating.

Then, a man is killed in his own home, and somehow things are not as they seemed. I love the romance between police chief Greg King. This was a fun read, and I had no problem catching up reading this as a stand-alone story.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great cozy mystery.

Thanks to #NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion..

On this visit to South Cove, we pickup with Jill & Greg engaged! Yeah I’m totally still super excited about that. Unfortunately, things aren’t going as well for aunt Jackie! She mysteriously broke up with her fiancé Harold. She begins acting oddly. Turns out someone’s scamming people! Before you know it a lot of questions are being asked but very few are being answered or maybe answered honestly in some cases. Murder, abuse, scams, well no worries Jill’s on the case now! And you can bet she’s gonna straighten everybody and lie out before it’s all over! I always miss South Cove when I have to leave Jill and the gang! But it’s always awesome to return, like coffee with an old friend. I hope this series continues for many years to come! While, this book did touch on a few subjects that are sensitive to many with older relatives I truly believe that she handled the situation in a way that was more informative. I personally liked this. Five 🌟 star book all the way!

First I would like to thank Netgalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Jill is worried about her Aunt Jackie, she cancelled her engagement and is acting scared and secretive. After having someone come and lecture in the shop about elder abuse, Jill is afraid that Aunt Jackie is a victim, again.
Of course there is a dead body and even though Jill says she won't get involoved, she does.

I have enjoyed every visit to South Cove, and I hope to continue to keep going back to this lovely area.

This is the first book that I've read of this Tourist Trap series and I was worried I'd feel as if I would miss key characterizations if I started so far into the series. I'm not surprised, after reading this entertaining story, that I didn't feel too lost and, in fact, just felt the need to hunt down the others in this series and start from the beginning. I have no doubt I'll like the rest of the series as much as I enjoyed this book.

With every visit to South Cove, I fall more and more in love with the town and its inhabitants. And author Lynn Cahoon has outdone herself with Memories and Murder, the tenth book in this charming cozy mystery series. This installment centers around protagonist Jill Gardner’s quest to discover why her Aunt Jackie is behaving erratically. I must confess that I have a soft spot for Aunt Jackie (and not just because I have my own beloved Aunt Jackie), so I was delighted to delve into her story.

When we last encountered Jill and the gang in Killer Party, Aunt Jackie had abruptly broken her engagement to Harrold Snider, the owner of The Train Station, without giving him (or anyone else) an explanation. Fearing the worst about her aunt’s health, Jill is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. However, there is more to the story than Jill bargained for. The plotline concerning Aunt Jackie happens to dovetail nicely with a murder investigation that Jill’s boyfriend (and detective) Greg King is heading. And, together, the mysteries put Jill on a collision course with a killer.

One of the most appealing things about Memories and Murder (besides the mystery, which is top-notch) is the straightforward way the story tackles the topic of elder abuse. While never heavy-handed or preachy, Ms. Cahoon deftly weaves the susceptibility of seniors to fraud into the story, enhancing both the mystery and the depth of the novel itself. And, as always, Jill is a top-notch heroine, who is imminently relatable. Minor characters Deek and Esmeralda also take the stage to provide pivotal information regarding scams perpetrated against the elderly.

Memories and Murder is a must-read for fans of the Tourist Trap series. It is charming, poignant, suspenseful and rewarding – and exactly what you want in a cozy mystery. I can hardly wait to return to South Cove and find out what happens next.

Note: I received an ARC of Memories and Murder from NetGalley and Kensington Books/Lyrical Underground. The above is my honest review.

Finally another full-length novel from the Tourist Trap mystery series. I love the regular characters in this series, especially the different town merchants--each with their own quirks. This mystery surrounds a very real topic--scammers who take advantage of seniors. The plot was interesting, with a couple of side-plots to keep it complex enough to hold attention. Very enjoyable.

Lynn Cahoon’s Tourist Trap Mystery series was the first cozy mystery series I fell in love with, so new visits to South Cove and Jill’s Coffee, Books & More are always top of my TBR list!

I love the protagonist Jill and her dog Emma – everyone should have a dog like Emma & she brings a lot of subtle humor & sweetness into the stories. Memories and Murder is a unique installment in this series in that, this time, Jill is (mostly) not investigating the same crime that her hunky detective boyfriend Greg is. She’s got her hands full trying to figure out who’s scamming Aunt Jackie, and I love seeing how her friends and employees band together to help out. That’s one of my favorite things about the whole series, honestly – the community Jill has built around her & they rally behind each other when needed. Family can definitely be what you make it, and Jill proves that over and over again. The fact that this community of main & supporting characters are all layered and thoroughly developed is icing on the cake.

Cahoon’s mysteries are always a reading adventure that ropes you in and doesn’t let go until whodunit – and why – is revealed. The dual mysteries unfolding in Memories and Murder are cleverly-plotted (as expected – this is Lynn Cahoon, after all) with some unexpected twists and turns that keep you on your reading toes. I wasn’t sure if they were connected or not – nor how many other mysteries might pop up before the end of the book.

Bottom Line: A visit to South Cove & Lynn Cahoon’s delightful Tourist Trap mysteries is always a good idea. Memories and Murder is no exception. The two concurrent mysteries in this book are equally intriguing, and I loved trying to figure out who was behind them. Cahoon excels at characters and setting, as well as plot, and Memories and Murder is a prime example. A great choice for this weekend’s reading list!!

I stumbled on this series about a year ago and have gobbled it up like turkey on Thanksgiving Day. I feel so at home with Jill and her Aunt Jackie every time I open up a book in the Tourist Trap series. We have books, coffee, and murder. A trifecta of perfect cozy mystery ready.

I enjoyed the topic of elder abuse in the form of scams. Unfortunately, there are so many elderly that have no one to watch out for them and they end up losing so much. Lynn Cahoon tackled the subject with finesse and made it entertaining so as not to seem like a lecture.

You can read this series starting with any book in the series but I still suggest reading in order to get the best reading experience.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Kensington, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

Another fantastic visit to South Cove, with Jill, Jackie and the rest of the gang. This series is one of the few that for me seem so real and like I could go visit and be friends with these characters. They are just easy reads that I enjoy immensely. The mystery in this book was very good and kept me guessing. I had a few suspects for a lot of the book. I just really enjoyed this book. Can’t wait for my next South Cove visit!

I received this book from NetGalley and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Memories and Murder
Tourist Trap Mysteries, Book #10
Lynn Cahoon
5 Stars

Synopsis:

It’s October in South Cove, California, and the locals in the quaint resort seem to be happily pairing off in the lull before the holidays. Everyone, that is, except for Jill Gardner’s elderly aunt, who just dumped her besotted fiancé—and she won’t say why.

When Jill hosts a talk at Coffee, Books, and More on the topic of elder abuse, all that’s really on her mind is lunch. But the topic hits close to home when she discovers Aunt Jackie has been getting mysterious calls. Jill’s certain the caller is a con artist, of course, but her feisty aunt claims to understand this, though she’s still shaken—and Harrold’s still heartbroken. Who’s behind the scam and why was her aunt targeted? When a volunteer from the Senior Project is found murdered, Jill’s detective boyfriend is on the case—and it soon becomes clear no one is safe when a caller from beyond becomes a killer in their midst.

Review:

The writing style flows smoothly and it defines the characters very clearly by their actions and words. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and she has created a setting, South Cove, California, that I would like to visit. It would be so great to be able to go into Coffee, Books and More, grab a drink and pastry, and visit with everybody.

The characters are well developed, well rounded and three dimensional. Anytime I get to spend time with Jill, Greg, and the rest of the gang is time well spent. In this book,we got to learn a little bit more about Aunt Jackie’s life and it made her seem more vulnerable and human.

The mystery was well plotted and carried on well throughout the entire book. There were enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider and was not easily solved. I was pretty sure I knew who the culprit was, but I was only partially right.

I would highly recommend this book (and series) to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. In my opinion, the books just keep getting better.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Kensington Books, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.

I have read every book in this series and have loved every one. This is by far my favourite cozy mystery series. I love how this book focused on a not often talked about topic, seniors being defrauded.

3.5

Jill Gardner has her hands full. Not only is she trying to solve a murder mystery, she is trying to determine if her aunt is a victim of elder fraud. And her aunt also dumped her fiancé, but it takes awhile before she tells anyone why. Could all of these events be tied together?

I am a newcomer to the Tourist Trap Mystery series. While this is book #10, it worked just as well as a standalone. I am going to say that the characters are so enjoyable that I am going to start the series from the beginning. Jill has a natural curiosity that causes her to be a good mystery solver. I found the story to be intelligent and plausible. Not only am I curious to start from the beginning, I am also looking forward to future installments.

My thanks to Kensington Books and Nethalley for this ARC.

Memories and Murder was a fun cosy mystery partially about the important topic of elder elder abuse. The characters have depth to them and the mystery part had a few twists and turns in addition to some red herrings.

It's well worth the read.

I have read this entire series and always enjoy returning to South Cove. This is the 10th in series. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity. My review opinion is my own. I highly recommend this series.

The Tourist Trap series is set in South Cove, California and Jill Gardner is our protagonist and main character. Jill owns a popular shop called Coffee, Books and More. She shares the shop with her Aunt Jackie, a active fun senior who is a happy fun charcter. Jill and her aunt are very close .

In this next in series Jill and her boyfriend are helping her Aunt through a crisis when she is being scammed by someone who uses her boyfriend as the bait. When her Aunt breaks up with the boyfriend with her own suspicions things go from bad to worse. Jill is determined to stop the scammer and soon finds out it is a scam against the elderly that may be happening to many elderly people.

I love the mystery the author creates so well crafted with so many clues. This next in series is a exciting read and I loved the returning charcters, the story plot and sleuth. I highly recommend this entire series and this next in series for your reading enjoyment. The author has a great series here and I hope it will continue for many more books !
