Such a great mystery from this long loved Tourist Tap series by Lynn Cahoon. Once again we meet up with Jill Gardner in South Cove, California where she runs her bookshop and cafe with her Aunt Jackie. This instalment centers around the mysterious death of a little known man in town, but while Jill's boyfriend Chief Greg King is busy trying to catch a killer, Jill's dealing with the even larger mystery of her Aunt Jackie's recent life changes. She's ended her seemingly wonderful engagement with her love Harrold, she's withdrawn and Jill's unsure if it's health related. After some sleuthing the answer is even more unsettling, Jill finds out Jackie's is being contacted by her dead (or is he?) husband!
Is this a ghost? the real man? someone preying on the elderly? and is this all connected to the murder? Jill gets to the bottom of it all with the help of Greg, her neighbours, her new barista Deek (sure to become a fan favorite!) and all those South Cove friends we have grown to love over the series.
Engrossing, fast paced and thoroughly entertaining!

Full length book in this series. Jill is shocked when her Aunt Jackie calls off her engagement to Harrold and the reason is very compelling and relatable to everything you hear on the news today. Too many seniors even smart ones can get scammed or sucked in to a scam when the right bait is laid. Jill begins to investigate the scam and Greg is working the homicide of a volunteer at the Senior center and they begin to think the two could be related. This is a good series. I know I have not read all of the books in the series and I could follow this one. This series is a keeper.

Jill hosts a talk on elder abuse in her coffee/book shop, and meets Paula, the woman from the Senior Project. Her aunt, Jackie, has just broken her engagement to Harrold, and Jill finds out it's because she has received calls claiming to be from her dead husband; the caller claims he left because he went into witness protection. Jill quickly realizes it's a spam because she locates the death certificate. Then the Senior Project volunteer who is living with Paula is found dead, and Greg, the head detective living with Jill believes Paula might be responsible. Jill really wants Jackie to get back together with Harrold, and manages to get her aunt to spend Saturday with a friend while Harrold renovates her porch.

Soon Jill realizes the murder as well as her aunt's scamming are coming from the Senior Project about the same time the store and her aunt's apartment above the store are broken into, and Jill and Greg find the killer may be after Jill and her aunt.

As this is only second book I've read in the series, I will be going back to find the earlier ones.

Lynn Cahoon has become one of my go-to authors for cozy mysteries. I've fallen in love with South Cove and all of the wacky characters. Bookstore/ coffee shop owner Jill has a way of attracting trouble and her friends wouldn't have her any other way. Enjoy this latest edition to an already great series.

Memories and Murder is the tenth book in Lynn Cahoon’s wonderful Tourist Trap Mystery series. This well-written book has well-developed and relatable characters and moves along at a steady pace. The storyline flows smoothly, and the author provides good background information. There are lots of red herrings and twists and turns to keep the reader engaged.

Jill Gardner is the owner of Coffee, Books, and More in the small coastal town of South Cove, California. Jill loves South Cove and in addition to running her shop, is the city council’s business liaison. She enjoys loves running on the beach with her dog, Emma, spending time with her boyfriend, Detective Greg King, and her best friend, Amy. Jackie Ekroth, Jill’s aunt, recently broke up with her fiancé, Harrold Snider, and not only won’t she tell Jill why, but she’s acting oddly. Jill finally learns that Jackie is receiving calls from a mysterious caller who is pretending to be her deceased husband, Ted. Paula Woods, who works for the Senior Project, speaks at the business-to-business meeting about elder abuse, and Jill starts to wonder if that is what’s happening to Jackie. Meanwhile, Greg is investigating the murder of Paula Woods’ boyfriend, Ben. Greg doesn’t want Jill involved with investigations, but she just can’t seem to stay away from them.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Jill is the owner of Coffee, Books and More in a small California beach town. Her aunt, Jackie, helps Jill manage the shop. Jackie was happily engaged to Harrold but abruptly calls off the wedding. Jill’s boyfriend, Greg, is the head of detectives in their town. As usual, there is a murder. Jill usually manages to worm her way into any murder investigation but this time she is worried about Jackie. Why is Jackie being so secretive? Why did she call off her engagement? Then Jill discovers that Jackie has been contacted by her long dead husband with the startling news that he is still alive. Jill is determined to get to the bottom of this.
I have to admit that I really enjoy Lynn Cahoon books. They are quick to read and are really light. I have read books from all of her series and am always happy to find a new one to read.

Jill is trying to figure out what is going on with her Aunt Jackie. She abruptly called off her engagement to Harrold and won't talk about it. Jill finally gets Jackie to talk and finds out she is getting creepy phone calls from he long dead husband. Jill gets her boyfriend Greg involved. They know its a scam, but before Greg can check into it, he has a murder on his hands. So Jill strikes out on her own.

The characters are enjoyable. Even the somewhat grumpy Jackie has her endearing qualities. The cozy moves quickly along and kept me guessing. I was actually surprised by the reveal of the leader of the scam. I love cozies that have animals in them and Emma is just great.

This is not your average character owns store/bakery/cafe and gets in trouble for investigating crimes. The story are smart, varied and multi-year. Jill is good at what she does and The police and she have mutual respect. The side story concerning her aunt is very interesting and plausible. Throw in a little romance and this is one of my favorite series
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

This is book #10 in the awesome Tourist Trap series by Lynn Cahoon and is a full length novel (several of the recent books have been novellas). Jill Gardner owns Coffee, Books & More, a bookstore and café., in South Cove, CA. Her Aunt Jackie helps Jill with the store, Jackie is getting mysterious calls which is upsetting everyone.. A man seen around town is killed so between that and Jackie, Jill is kept busy investigating. This whole series has everything I love about cozy mysteries - likable interesting characters, an intriguing cozy mystery, family, friendship, romance, humor. What's not to love! It was hard to put down and I really enjoyed it!

Another great installation to the Tourist Trap Mysteries. Jill is trying to solve a scam possibility being applied to Aunt Jackie. Greg has a murder investigation of Ben. Both pretty much stay in their lanes, are respectful, and share info when necessary. Greg doesn’t want to share and only gives Jill enough to keep her and her aunt safe along with South Cove residents. Are these two crimes related?

Jackie and Harrold are no longer engaged. Read to find out what is going on and can it be fixed. Why did Jackie call off the engagement?

Is the Pastor and Sadie going to reveal their feelings towards one another?

I am never disappointed by this author. I enjoy seeing the characters grow. Deek is becoming a favorite.

This is one of my favorite series. Don't worry if you haven't read any of the previous books, this can be read as a standalone. This book is well crafted, the setting is great, and the characters are witty and likeable. This book brings elder abuse into light along with murder. I'm certainly looking forward to Book 12 in this series.

A Tourist Trap Mystery #11

Fall has come to South Cove, the lovely town that is home to Coffee, Books, and More, owned by our coffee making, crime-solving Jill Gardner.

While we are all still reeling from Aunt Jackie's abrupt break up with the man who worships her. Aunt Jackie isn't talking about it. She is, however, acting very odd!

Love is in the air all over South Cove and Amy has Jill helping her with her wedding. The mayor is doing his best to get information on Greg running for mayor this year and is being very persistent.

When Jill hosts a talk at the shop on elder abuse, given by Paula, from the Senior Project, she isn't really listening. But when she finds out Aunt Jackie is receiving strange phone calls from a man claiming to be her dead husband, Jill is suspicious. Is he a con man?

While Jill chases down leads on the mystery man, Greg is busy with murder. Paula's boyfriend is dead, and she is looking good for murder. But Jill doesn't believe it. Proving it may get her killed!

I have been with this series since the beginning. Jill has grown into a confident and strong woman. That is one thing I love about Lynn's books, you can see the growth in each character and that is a hard thing to do.

This author has proven once again that she is one of the best in the Cozy Genre.

Who knew elder abuse and murder went hand in hand, but Jill, Greg and gang are back in action as they try to find out who is picking on the elderly and who killed a local elder counselor's boyfriend in her house! The plot is intriguing as several storylines overlap, once again creating a well woven story sure to entertain! The best part is we are finally back to a full length story that picks up where the timeline left off prior to the author deviating to write several novellas to help flesh out the series for new readers to enjoy. I was so excited that the series was back on track that I ended up reading this book from cover to cover in one sitting and no am sad as I have to wait for the author to write the next installment! If you haven't started this series you should and good news for the audiobook fans as most of the series is available via audiobook! You won't be sorry that you added this series to your TBR list, or rather MBR (must be read) list!!

I really enjoyed this book. For me it had a slightly slow start but that was mostly because I was trying to learn who the characters were since this was the first book in the series I have read. I will now be going back and reading the others.
