The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission is a quick, fun, let's-get-ready-for-Christmas read.

Things I loved:
-Snowed-in trope (perfect for Xmas)
-Insta-chemistry between the two main characters (hey, sometimes you just know)
-Alice goes for it despite the fact that she's only in town through her best friend's wedding
-Overall set up for the series (Family wedding planning/execution business, ranch setting)

The thing is, Clay and Alice's story goes from insta-lust to insta-love in 3 seconds flat, which ordinarily I'm like, come on here, people. But it's the holidays, and this is a novella, so I'll let that go.

What I really liked was the set up of the Bellini family and the cast of characters in their Oklahoma town. If you've read Sarina Bowen's True North series and enjoyed the Shipleys, I have a feeling the Bellinis are gonna be just as entertaining as a crew.

The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission is a quick, steamy novella with a sexy cowboy and an LA matchmaker. Alice is town for a friend's wedding and gets conveniently snowed in with Clay leading to a quick romance and lots of heat.

Since it's a novella, there is definitely some instalove and a too quick HEA but this is still a sweet story with likable characters. There will be other books, full length, I hope spinning off from this which I am intrigued about.

The Matchmaker's Mistletoe was a quick holiday romance about falling in love when you least expect it. Jaci Burton brought the sweet that I need and the fire I desire with these amazing characters. I enjoyed the role reversal of the story. This time the matchmaker was the one falling in love instead of being the person to set people up.

A professional matchmaker, Alice Weatherford, finds herself in Oklahoma for her best friend's wedding. She arrives a week early to make sure everything is going according to plan. When she arrives, she witnesses a snowstorm that forces her to stay on the Bellini property. That's when she meet Clay. He is a hunky rancher who she automatically sees as her next project/client. She wants to help him find the love of his life. Clay is captivated by her presence. He wants to know this woman but isn't sure if he should put himself out there.

Alice and Clay have so much in common and are getting along really well. One kiss makes brings their instant chemistry to life and they can't go back to just being friends. They should be a couple, right? Well, they have different things to consider...one being they don't live in the same state. So many things are working against them, so will love conquer all?

Overall, I give The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission 3.5 stars. It was short and sweet. The characters were AMAZING and loved the familial aspect of the story.

This was short but sweet read to get into the holiday spirit. The characters were easy to like and I enjoyed all the details from the ranch. I also enjoyed the setting and since I live in Oklahoma, I appreciate books that are set here. My only complaint was that I'm not crazy about insta-love. I like for the relationship to develop slowly. Other than that, this was nice start to the holiday season.

I'm always excited when an author starts a new series. And this year we got two new ones from Burton. Exciting! The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission is a sweet, fun, Hallmark movie novella that starts the new series.

For Alice and Clay it was love at first sight, or should I say lust at first sight. These two really want each other. Not that Alice will admit it at first. In fact, she offers her services up as a matchmaker just so she doesn't act on her feels.

Silly girl.

I really like Clay he's smart and hard-working and very sweet. He's willing to whatever it is to make her happy which shows just how much he cares. She feels the same way. They are just perfect for each other.

Nothing keeps these two apart. And finally, Alice and Clay act on their feels. It's not an easy road. There is a few bumps along the way. When they finally talk, really talk they are able to smooth things out.

Due to the fact that this is less than 200 pages, the story moves quickly but I felt it was well-written so that helps with how fast the story moves. Well worth reading for the holidays.

I thought this story was cute. It wasn't deep or life-changing. There was definitely no slow-burn here and if you don't buy into people falling in love in a very short period of time, this book isn't for you.
Meanwhile, if you're looking for a quick, fun, sexy read full of holiday cheer and great chemistry between the main characters, you should snatch this one up!

This was a quick, fun introduction to a new series coming from Jaci Burton and she did a great job of piquing my interest to read more about the Bellini sisters and their vineyard!

Jaci Burton’s novella, The Matchmaker’s Mistletoe Mission is a delightfully festive and super sweet romance that leaves the reader wanting more. There is a good amount of character development of both Alice and Clay—which allows the readers to connect with both charters and become invested in their HEA.

The Matchmaker’s Mistletoe Mission by Jaci Burton is the first book in her new Boots and Bouquets series. We meet our heroine, Alice Weatherford at the start when she arrives in Oklahoma, to help prepare for her best friend’s wedding that will happen in a week. When Alice arrives at Red Moss Vineyard, the place for the wedding, she ends up stuck there when a major snowstorm hits. Alice is a successful matchmaker by trade, and works out of Los Angeles.

The Bellini family, who own Red Moss Vineyard, are very welcoming, offering Alice to stay there until the storm ends. Clay Henry, our hero and a rancher, is a friend of the Bellini’s and ends up getting stuck at the vineyard during the storm. Almost immediately, the attraction between Alice and Clay heats up, and in a short time a sizzling steamy relationship begins, with both knowing that there is only a week before Alice leaves.

What follows was a fun and romantic story, with a bit of a Christmas themed background, as well as the wedding preparations and venue. It was fun to watch Alice try to set up Clay with the perfect woman that meets her experience as a matchmaker; she doesn’t get very far, as the both cannot resist each other and their chemistry is off the wall scorching hot. I really did like Alice, as she was a wonderful heroine, and very likable. Clay was awesome too. I also loved the Bellini sisters, and I do expect to see more of them in future books of this series.

The Matchmaker’s Mistletoe Mission was a lighthearted romance about two people who live different lives, and in the short period (one week) they fall in love, but can they work it out? Jaci Burton once again gives us a sweet fun romantic story and couple. I suggest you find the time to read The Matchmaker’s Mistletoe Mission.

3.5 Forest for the Trees Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
We all know the phrase, "Can't See the Forest for the Trees". The inability to see the Big Picture because you may be caught up on all the details ... or you are too close to the situation to see another way. In The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission (Boots and Bouquets, #0.5), Jaci Burton's Alice is suffering from just that.

Alice Weatherford is in Oklahoma for one reason only, to assist and be the maid of honor for her best friend's wedding. She is a City Gal from Los Angeles and has a very successful Matchmaking business. Because her friend's career caused her to travel before the wedding, Alice promised to come to the Red Moss Vineyard a week early to make sure everything was set for the big day. Never did Alice plan on being snowed in and staying at the vineyard for days.

Clay Henry was just checking in with his almost family, the Bellini's. He grew up with them and he always took time to come by to see what was happening. His family's ranch was close by and riding his horse to visit wasn't unusual. What was unusual was a snowstorm which decided to dump massive amounts causing Clay to stay at the vineyard, too.

When the Bellini's have the family meal, Alice and Clay are made aware of the interset they both have for each other. Sparks, looks and low key flirting happen...Alice, locked into the Matchmaker mode, thinks she has the answers to Clay's singledom. She will interview him, find out his likes, etc. and do her thing...Find him a Match. No matter how much she may like him herself, being interested is someone she was matchmaking was a big No-No.

Clay has no desire to be Matched...at least not the way Alice wants to do it...Clay believes in chemistry... Alice doesn't believe in it. With both of them housed at the vineyard, they soon become closer than they ever thought possible. Alice and Clay have a history of hurt with past relationships. Both think a relationship for them would be impossible but the pull and want are strong.

I really liked Clay as he was the typical rancher type but with serious insight to women and how they think. He was not superficial and listened when Alice spoke. He was able to see his need for Alice. Alice wanted things but had difficulty to see the big beautiful picture Clay was presenting. When she finally opened her eyes, I could picture her knocking the side of her head with her hand, thinking Duh...

The overall feel of the book was warm, sexy and all wrapped up with Christmas.

This story introduced the Bellini sisters and one of them will have her story in the next book, The Best Man Plan (Boots and Bouquets, #1).

This is quite a sweet novella, though a bit lacking in depth. I enjoyed the relationship between matchmaker Alice and rancher Clay, but did find it quite sudden and convenient – and the ending even more so. As the set up for a series set around the Red Moss Vineyard and the three sisters who run it, it works very well. I enjoyed the setting and found the characters appealing and the teaser for the first sister's story compelling. As a standalone novella, I think it works less well.
If you like bossy heroines and laid-back heroes, if you like a story without any real villains or excessive conflict, or if you are looking for a nice, fluffy, comforting Christmas-themed read without too much conflict, you will probably enjoy this.

This was a fun and festive romance romp. Alice and Clay were fun characters to get to know and I really enjoyed the pacing and the tempo of this book. I would love to hear more from the Bellini ranch!

It was a nice holiday romance book . It had your usual steamy scenes that Jack does so well. I did love two characters in the book.

Jaci Burton has always been a huge seller at my store and I feel like this will be no different! I loved this book :)

I find it hard to rate a novella for a new series because there's no time for character development. It also makes the romance happen way too fast, so it really just all about some hot attraction and chemistry rather than romance. The romance was definitely steamy but the book lacked depth. Perhaps this would read better fleshed out so I am willing to give the first novel in this series a chance. It's too bad because I liked Alice and Clay and given more substance to their interactions I think this could have been a really good romance novel.

This was a cute holiday romance. I thought it moved a bit fast (the romance) but it was an enjoyable light read.

LA native and professional matchmaker Alice Weatherford finds herself stranded at the Red Moss Vineyard in Oklahoma a week before her best friend's wedding This is her first trip to Oklahoma and this epic snow storm is not what she was expecting. She needs a distraction to survive being stuck inside. In walks gorgeous neighboring rancher Clay Henry and oh what a distraction to ride out the storm with!!

Clay grew up with the Bellini sisters and has no problem riding out the storm with them. It's made even better when he gets to spend time with their savvy houseguest. Alice convinces Clay to give her the opportunity to find a match for him. Even though he is not interested in her finding a match for him he agrees so he can spend time with her.

Spending time together proves that they are a perfect match for each other. They just need to find a way to make it work.

This is the first book I've read by Jaci Burton, although I do have some of her hockey romances on my TBR. I have to admit, I wasn't really ready to read a book set during Christmas when it's barely even fall here in PA. But if you are a fan of Christmas-themed sexy, romances, I think this one might be for you!

This book is an adult romance, so there are a lot of sexy times to be had in it. It's a very steamy book with high-level of heat. If that is your thing, have at it. However, if that's not your thing, maybe pass on this one. I enjoyed the scenes and thought they were written pretty well.

I thought Alice's work as a matchmaker was a pretty interesting career path. But, I really didn't get all her hang-ups about how she needed to be in LA for her work. Especially when she says that she can "work from anywhere." Like okay...so why can't you just move? It kind of annoyed me. It's not a big hangup, but the one thing that did make it harder for me to like this was the fact that the romance feels really instalovey. Like, relax, it's been ONE WEEK.

Beside my issues with the instalove, I ripped through this book, and I definitely want to read more books from this author.

*I received a review copy of this book via the publisher Berkley Publishing Group via Netgalley. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This needed to be a longer book. Because of it being a novella the jumps from lust to love to the end that made me go 'are you kidding? you just met a week ago' were jarring.
There needed to be more build up of romance between the two of them. The conversations they had involved Clay answering a matchmaker questionnaire. No chemistry even though they kept saying they had a lot of it.
The end of the book made me roll my eyes in the back of my head.
