What to take Christmas in hand, this is the book for you. Broken into 21 projects that I think can be totally exchanged or rearranged as your talents or situation dictates. For example if you spend Christmas with family and you won't be doing any cooking you can skip a couple chapters. These projects aren't a "do this exactly like this and Christmas will be perfectly organized and stress-free". Rather you are given tools to craft the holiday season that is right for you and your family starting with the first project.
This book can be used year after year to build from and grow with as you as each Christmas passes. Your Christmas can look differently each year even though you are using the same basic steps.
This was ok. There were just a couple of things that were helpful for me but If you are new to hosting Holidays get-togethers or you really have a big get together than this would be very helpful to you.
Oh i am in love with this book! Christmas is one of my favorite times of year and what better way to plan for it! This book has everything you need for a magical Christmas.
Note: I love Christmas! Unfortunately, every year I wait till the absolute last moment to plan, shop, cook, think etc. This creates a tremendous amount of stress that basically results in a lot of holiday dread. This cute little Christmas planner is the answer to enjoying your holiday season. I am reading through this one more time and then I am going to start planning out the holidays. Everything from mission statement to recipes to crafts to gifts in included in this book. It's all useful and not overwhelming. I've loved Kathi's organizer projects and this one is another winner!
Such a helpful book! As a mom of a little boy, Christmas seems to sneak up on me each year. This planner has easy to-dos broken out by day and into more manageable steps. The author shares lots of great ideas on getting things done in smarter ways, and gives permission more than once to just keep the parts of the holiday that are most important to your individual family. I would recommend the print version over an ebook, because there are spaces to write in and gather information. The point of this book is to carry forward with some of the work already done for future years to make it easier on you. The layout is cute, and it is easy to read.
I received an ebook ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Even if you love the holidays and all the planning and organizing that is required, it can still seem somewhat stressful and out of control. Enter The Christmas Project Planner by Kathi Lipp. This planner will help you get a handle on the holiday, prioritize what is important to you, disassemble big projects into manageable and even enjoyable tasks, and make the planning and execution of your holiday season customized to fit your needs.
A lot can be accomplished with a little planning and The Christmas Project Planner can help. Some of the suggestions are pretty basic but they lead to other ideas that almost anyone can incorporate. It’s a fun book, easy to use, and with a definite purpose. Many people will find it quite helpful.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.
I loved this really handy Christmas planner but I wish it had been thought of a few years ago when the children and parents were still all about at Christmas time, it's perfect for organising with a larger family! Having said that I still found so many handy tips, and I know the book will be an invaluable book to keep for
Christmas in the future, every household should have a copy of this book.
Thank you netgalley.
I'd love to see the book description give a little more info regarding what this book is. I thought it would be a craft project planner, which really isn't my cup of tea. It doesn't. It's way better! It's about choosing what's most important to you and your family and creating a plan to get yourself set up for an enjoyable season. It takes the rush out of Christmas by breaking out tasks that can be completed ahead of time.
There's lots of common sense that we simply have never thought to implement. This book isn't about trips to the craft store and creating Pinterest-worthy "projects." It's about customizing your holiday season and planning your calendar to make the most of what means the most to you.
It's a good read, written in Kathi Lipp's easy, conversational style. She writes with levity and understanding. It's like sitting down with an old friend you trust.
I loved this book and it made me realise that a lot can be achieved with planning and organisation.
The style it’s written in is very approachable and accessible. It’s even funny in parts. I giggled at reliving moments.
Some of the planning is quite basic but it’s all encompassing. I’ve taken some bits and moved on but will be following others.
A real good fun but get it all done book.
Fun holiday planner to help keep you on track for the holidays. I received this book from netgalley for an honest review. Loved the reminders of the importance of the season and tips to help keep the holiday plans on track.
Over the years, I have become so disorganized. I can’t figure out how, because I used to be super organized, but I have, so a book like this one is always on my radar.
The Christmas Project Planner is a good book for anyone who is somewhat disorganized about Christmas. I did feel the book was pretty general and basic about Christmas organization, but it does give you a push to become better prepared for Christmas starting in November or even earlier.
As someone who doesn’t have large groups of people visiting me for the holidays, this book really didn’t help me that much. A lot of what was covered was for someone dealing with large gatherings, long Christmas card lists, and lots of Christmas presents. I’m actually happy that isn’t me. But, I did get a few tips and tricks out of it.
The author made me chuckle a few times too, reliving her own Christmas experiences. I especially laughed at her recollection of asking for Trapper Keepers over Keds and a Madonna tape one year. I’m pretty sure I was the kid asking for the Trapper Keeper, Keds, and Madonna tape!
Overall, it was a quick and fun read. And while I did enjoy it, this self-help book wasn’t written for me, so I’m giving it 3-1/2 out of 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an uncorrected proof in exchange for my honest review!
This was a wonderful book full of Christmas projects, but not only that but a fresh look at surviving christmas. Christmas is one of those holidays that everyone turns into a huge affair, that only stresses them and everyone else close to them out. This book helps with keeping you do to earth and thinking clearly during this stressful holiday season. There are chapters on budgeting, planning and what to do without money (since people tend to spend too much). This was something I think everyone needs to read especially if Christmas is already stressing you out.

This book was cute, i cant wait to see the finished copy with all its interactive things.
Its nice to think that someone out there is having the same stresses over christmas, then they pick up this book and bam its all easily organized with simple projects.
With help from starting planning to gift buying and christmas dinner, a really fun book.
My only critisism is the author used the term ladies as if christmas planning is just a womens job, it isnt anyone can plan christmas.
Relaxed Christmas with the right plan
Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year or the most annoying one? Wheather you are a big Christmas lover, best buddy of the Grinch or somewhere in the middle, Christmas is going to happen. And would it be great to survive the Christmas days without stress, anxiety and nerve-racking last minute shopping? Then you should read this book!
This book is great guidance to survive the Christmas madness. It offers pockets and planning tools and all the things you need, to organize the Christmas, you want and need. It teaches you, to not think about, what others expect from Christmas, moreover you will find out, what matters to you and your family. It helps you to organize everything around Christmas – expectations, decoration, gifts, food, budgeting, recipes- simply everything related. With 21 projects, the author guides us through all the aspects of Christmas. The index makes it easy to jump to the parts you are interested in, but you can easily read it in a row as well and come back later to parts. The book has space to put down your own lists, provides recipes and just provides the guidance to make out the best of Christmas season without much stress and clutter. Everything is spices up with funny, thoughtful and entertaining stories about the authors family and life. In some you will find yourself, others are just entertaining.
This book is for sure something you will grab every year to fill in more notes and memories of your own Christmas. The stress will stop and the joy of Christmas will come to your house, now that you have everything under control with this little Christmas planning bible.
I don't necessarily feel any pressure to prepare the perfect Christmas but I do generally love all things surrounding the holiday and thought this looked fun. And it was -- my favorite aspect was creating a mission statement for your Christmas. I think that very much helps keep people on track.
However, that was one of the things I liked least about this book as well-- it was sort of... corporate. Not in the things that Lipp suggested but rather more the suggestions of how to deal with the holiday. It's as if a regular planning tool (not even a personal one) was taken and given a veneer of Christmas. Good suggestions; nothing particularly new.
Three stars
This book comes out October 1st

**OMG! I cannot believe that these reviews haven't been done! I am so sorry they are so late!!!**
I found this little book both helpful and charming - a breath of fresh (balsam!) air as I start to think about the holiday season. Highly recommended for all those ladies that feel like they could do Christmas so much better if they just had a game plan...THIS IS IT!
This is a really helpful book to help you get organised for Christmas. It is well written and has a sensible approach to tackling the festive season. The lists and worksheets are a great help. If you like to be organised, you will love this book. If you are having a first family Christmas and are hosting, this book will help!
I enjoyed this book and found it a pleasant read. I liked the stories told but I'd have expect some more advice.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
I'm so glad I gave up Christmas. I have always thought it over the top and a secondary holiday, if that, for most Christians. I thought Easter was the big one, but not that I've ever seen or heard it. Anyway. Like I said, waaaay over the top. Kathi Lipp's got it right. Keep it simple, pare it down, no one cares if it's not prefect, I mean, what the heck does that MEAN anyway??!! One gift, reasonable priced, per person, a few treats in the stocking, make a decent meal, toss our some cookies and candy canes. No one needs to spend a years salary on junk which will be tossed aside before the first bill rolls in. Stop trying to impress everyone with your generosity and Christmassiness. No one really cares and it will all be forgotten by the next day or week. Her book has great ideas in it for having a happy, reasonably stress free holiday. Worth a good read!
