A 14 year old girl disappears from her bed, was she abducted? Did she runaway? There is a lot going on in this crazy, twisted book and I rather enjoyed it. This was my first time reading a book by this author, but it certainly won't be the last.
The disappearance of Brittany Cushings shocks everyone in the quiet cul-de-sac and sets off an interesting chain of events.
The reader gets the chance to get into the main characters' heads and hear their thoughts - even Brittany's before she disappeared. I like this way of story-telling as it allows you the reader to come up with various scenarios and theories, because through their words, you soon discover that there is a darker secret lurking in the shadows.
We are also reminded in this book about the dangers of social media and the benefits of using it wisely.
A chilling ending that took me by surprise.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me the chance to read this book.

I can say it was my all time favourite book.. it didn’t actually grip me like some books do. However it’s quite a intriguing book.. That captures unaware.. Because I actually didn’t want to put it down. I just had to see what happened next. Who was responsible for taking the child. The way the neighbors pulled together was good. Although some wasn’t too sure about them. A steady paced book. It not a plod along book as I first thought. I did think that for quite away into it. It was only when I thought of putting it down to get some sleep. That I actually realised I didn’t want to put it down. It was more if I needed to know. Hence I read in one sitting. Definitely recommend this book and I can say it’s a really good read. Also remember it does get you, however your unaware how much it had got a grip on you. Not until you want or think of putting it down. I doubt you will either. You will be hooked before you know it.
When Brittany disappears over night her mum & dad find her bed empty and her window wide open.
They search the area for her but she can’t be found . They call the police. They ask them all about Brittany . She is home schooled by her mother but also she is smothered by her parents. Mum & Dad thinks she has been abducted .
Taylor there Neighbor sets up a Facebook page which some people are helpful others aren’t . One woman claims to be Brittanys real mother . Who is this woman and why would she say such a thing. There is certainly twists and turns in this book.
Great read
Thanks NetGalley

This book is a terrific suspense /mystery/thriller with everything from sadness to manipulation, love and loss. I thought the storyline was fantastic and I really enjoyed reading it. The storyline gripped my attention from page one right through until the end and I hated putting it down I thought it was quite a unique storyline and it had strong characters. I also enjoyed that the story was told through several different people so I never felt I missed anything and there was no loose ends. I also loved the twists in it and wasn't expecting one particular. This was the first book I had read hy this author but it definitely won't be the last.
Rated 5/5 on Goodreads
This was a fast paced novel that started out really well but unfortunately did not continue throughout. The Story itself was good. A missing teen in a pretty close neighborhood where it seems almost impossible that someone didn't see anything. The chapters were from different perspectivis and it did get confusing at times but still a decent book
Could not put down! This book grips you from the beginning with twists and turns. Be prepared to ignore everything until the final page! Thank you to netgalley for a copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest review.
What a fantastic book. Kept me gripped throughout and the ending had me reeling. Some parts were slightly predictable but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the different perspectives and it wasn't too confusing at all. Very good read!
This book hooked me from the start with the disappearance of the daughter. It slowly meandered in to different stories about the neighbours and I felt like the author did not know where she was going.
Thank you @Netgalley and @Inkubator for the ARC of the good neighbor. This book was such a wild ride and it just kept you guessing and guessing until the shocking climax. I definitely recommend this one and cant wait to read another book but this author.
Unfortunately this author failed to keep me wanting. After the first few chapters I was not kooked. This book my suit other readers but unfortunately it was not for me.

A fourteen year old girl goes missing one night, and everybody is certain that she was kidnapped.
One of the neighbors, Taylor, organices search parties, create a facebook page and feeds the volunteers.
But as they start to gather information secrets from the past begin to come out and apparently her disappearance may be linked to these secrets.
The Good Neighbor is a psychological thriller full of secrets, lies and twists.
It’s a fast-paced story with a very fluid writting style that kept me guessing for suspects until the end.

The beginning grabbed my attention. Strong. But the rest of the story wasn’t as compelling. Maybe I’ll revisit at another time.

*I am really grateful for the opportunity to read this book, but it wasn’t for me. I truly think that other people might enjoy this much more than I did*
Sadly this book did not grab me like I wanted it to and so I had to put it down. I feel like I gave it a fair chance but I was more than half percent into the book and almost nothing had happened that I didn’t already know from the synopsis.
The thing that bothered me the most about The Good Neighbor is how the character’s voices were so similar, I feel like the multiple POVs were the right choice for the story but they could’ve been written better, some of them added nothing to the story and the character’s personalities were too far fetched.
To end on a good note, I feel the writing style is very suited for the style of thriller Grant wanted to write, and the way she slowly introduces pieces of her plot is ingenious.
ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review!
This book starts with an intriguing prologue where a character is cleaning up blood. The plot then centres on the disappearance of Brittany, a 14 year old girl and there are some good moments of suspense as the story unfolds. I had mixed views about this book. On the plus side, it's an entertaining read and clearly has resonated with a lot of readers as there are many positive reviews out there. As much as I enjoyed the overall story, I found it hard to really engage with the characters and as a readers I felt more of a detached observer than being immersed in the writing. I found the characters a bit flat, with too much explaining and describing their surroundings and I felt they lacked the edge to their voices that could have made this book more engaging for me.
I enjoyed this read and I thought there was good build up to the event. It was underwhelming and became strange when Brittany returned. I thought the character development was weaker as I did not think the adoption seemed plausible and both characters never expressed about wanting a child or changing their lifestyle. All in all it was a good read.
This took me by complete surprise. What a good suspenseful read. I wondered at times what the heck the characters were thinking...why are they doing that!! But then I'd realize, given the circumstances it is probably exactly what I would do! Once you got past the idea that its probably pretty unrealistic, it was a great read
The writing was very good. Characters were fleshed out and the story line was well thought out. Very few questions lingering at the end. There were lots of twists.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of the Good Neighbor.
I gave this 3 stars because the book was ok. It was very similiar to other thrillers that I have read. It was a fast paced novel and very easy to read. But just because it was easy to read didn't mean it was fantastic.
The characters for starters were written almost unrealistically and to the point where I just couldn't stand them.
The Story itself was good. A missing teen in a pretty close neighborhood where it seems almost impossible that someone didn't see anything. The chapters were from different perspectivis and it did get confusing at times.
All in all, the book was underwhelming for me.
There was so much blood. It wasn't at all what I'd expected.
And so begins this manipulative little story about love, lies, and deception. Told from multiple voices, those of Moira (the mother), Alan (the father), Taylor (the helpful neighbor), Luke (another neighbor), Brittany (the daughter), and Crystal (the drug addict), this is a quick, fast-paced, easy read. Having never read a Cathryn Grant novel prior, I was pleasantly surprised by the tight plot line and excellent writing. Although a fairly common theme--a missing child--I felt as though this novel went in a direction I hadn't seen before. It's fairly unique to the genre.
I personally wouldn't call this book twisty. The prologue actually clued me in on quite a bit, and I had a good deal of the book figured out early on. Didn't matter though...the story was still gripping. I do wish the characters had been slightly more developed; their motivations more clear. And while the ending felt a little rushed, and maybe a bit...?cheesy?...I still feel this is well worth reading.
My one gripe was the depiction of homeschooling. A homeschooling momma myself, it left quite the bitter taste in my mouth.
3.5 stars rounded up
**Many thanks to the publisher for my advanced copy.
I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. Moria wakes up to find her 14 year old daughter missing. No one in the neighborhood even knew Moria and her husband Alan. Neighbor Taylor brings the neighbors together to begin a search for Brittany. I enjoyed the book but I felt like there were a few things off such as it didn't really seem like the police were very involved in looking for the missing girl and the book ended without the details of what happened to Alan.
