Levy is truly a jack of all trades and his wisdom shines in this practical collection of lessons for life. Rooted in experience and education... and a good sense of humor. Oh, how I wished I’d read something like this years ago. As it stands, I recommend this to my psychotherapy clients frequently!

Life has a way of providing fodder for reflection. Dr. Levy has collected his favorite (as I am sure he has many more he could share) anectdotes and shared them with the world.
In bite-sized intellectual morsels, he shares 40 different lessons. Each lesson syncs smoothly with the rest.
Highly recommended for readers who enjoyed Don't Sweat The Small Stuff.

David A. Levy's Life is a 4-Letter Word is a quick and very-relatable read. Levy concisely writes about forty of his life experiences and summarizes each one with a lesson learned.

His sense of humor and warm, down-to-earth presentation help him come across as an every-man, and as a result is easy to identify with.

No earth-shattering tidbits, but a very enjoyable read. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 from me!

Many thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A nice little book with lessons from Mr. Levy’s life experiences. Just like in life, the stories jump around a bit. I found this to be interesting and a great book for when I wanted something quick to read. I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

This is a quick book that gives you simple life lessons and explains them in the form of stories from the author's life. The stories that accompanied the lesson were quick, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, always meaningful. It is refreshing to see someone write about how he learned from his experiences. If you need a quick, uplifting read, this is one that will fulfill.

I love books about life lessons and learning from other's life stories and that is why I was quite happy about the timing of this year. What a good time to read a book about life lessons but towards the end of the year and start of a new decade?

However, I was disappointed with the book. The lessons were ok but there was no flow between the stories. It felt like every time I was thrown into a new situation, no idea about the timeline, who the people in the situation were... unfortunately, I could not build a connection with the book as a whole at all.

I am thankful to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary copy of the book. I wish I could have said more positive things.

Life is a 4-letter word, It was an interesting book. I liked it because he was reflecting back on his life and when you do that, you learn and grow from your experiences. y.
I hope this book becomes a best seller because learning from your past is what will shape your future, but as I was reading this, the back of my mind kept saying, if I had a book like this when I was younger, it would have made me realize other people have struggles, have embarrassing moments or have made mistakes and wouldn't have beat myself up over and over. As the author said, life lessons and that is what our experiences are, just life lessons that we will make it through and move us along in life. There are a few that years later I could laugh about but at the time I thought it would ruin my life.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. This book is going to mean different things to different people, I think depending on the stage you are in life. Young people are struggling today and this book would be a good book for them to read and reread. It shows us that what we are dealing with is just a life lesson and we can use it to become who we are meant to be tomorrow. It will also show them that everyone has life lessons, embarrassing moments, but you can overcome them. and in a few years, you may even look back and laugh.

David Levy uses his 65 years of life to pick out “life lessons” he has learned over the years. This would make a good “bathroom” or waiting room book. What I really liked is how his approach encourages the reader to examine their own life for lessons.
Thanks to NetGalley, AuthorBuzz, and the author David Levy for a digital review copy. This book was published December 3, 2019.

Dr. Levy has created a book of anecdotes and humorous stories to help us get through our day. Everyone has experiences like those in book, but David Levy tells the stories in an engaging, entertaining way. As an educator and psychologist, he really makes the reader feel connected to the tales, and this is a heartwarming, uplifting tome to give you a little bit of humor and connection to the world.

Life is a 4-Letter Word has great life lessons as explained thru everyday life stories that the author experienced. After becoming a parent myself I could totally relate to the one life lesson called "empty threats are worse than none at all" I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read who enjoys learning through others stories.

Life is a 4 Letter Word is book that I have mixed feelings about. It's life lessons from David Levy's own life and sometimes the observations are obvious and others not so much.. It did get a few chuckles out of me though.

Super short and simple essays. They just didn't really do it for me. I really wanted to like this book, maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind.

Thanks to NetGalley and AuthorBuzz for the opportunity to read and review this book.

LIfe is a 4-Letter Word is a great book of small stories. All the stories are like life lessons. I love Levy's take on some of the every day normal mishaps that he had growing up and how he reflects on this. This would be a great gift for anyone and is a short, easy read.

Life Is a 4 Letter Word is a cute little gem. David's autobiography is cut into vignettes, summed up with the lesson learned. I admire how he changed his career from the entertainment industry to psychology. Short and funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I received this book from Netgalley.

Life is a four letter word is a quick read packed with Dr. Levy's point of view and life lessons that he has learned and lived through. I found this book to inspiring and thought=provoking. In today's society, many people have lost the importance of common sense and being able to deal with problems or hiccups that arise without violence and negativity. I highly enjoyed and recommend this book for recent graduates or anyone that likes to be reminded to stop and smell the roses, dance in the rain, or spend some time getting to know someone just for the heck of it. Thank you Netgalley and Dr. Levy for allowing me to have an ARC of your book. This was my honest opinion, and I look forward to reading more of your work.

This is a collection of short essays/stories from the author's life that illustrates some important life lessons. Some were funny, some were serious, but they all had good meaning. Definitely a good book of life lessons to read!

This is a compilation of anechdotes the author shares with us. Every story leaves a lesson.
The stories are short and easy to read. It's easy to relate to them.

Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.

I had high hopes for this book and loved the premise on first impression, but unfortunately it really fell flat. The stories were pretty brief and some stories left me feeling they were fabricated simply to create the book. Some of the ‘life lessons’ were pretty odd and left me scratching my head, whereas others were cliches that I had heard a hundred times before. Fortunately this was a quick read, but it didn’t really do much for me in terms of enjoyment or any real benefit.

This is a great uplifting book, that anyone who needs inspiration or just a little insight from life should read or give as a gift. The story behind the lesson are delightful.
This book reminds me of a little gold cover book that has sayings from Confucius that I receive when I was a child and I still read it now.
