Too quick and insta-lovey. Sometimes it works, but this was not it.
I was hoping for some angsty pining, or something but it all went very quick.
Complementary copy given for honest review.
Hot, fast and female based. This romance is hot, steaming hot. It does follow the typical patterns of a romance but it is a nice read.
Her name is actually Cynderella, she has built a business from the ground up and it is so successful someone wants to buy it. That part she does not know about yet. What she does know is that one of her cleaning women cannot make it to a very important client, so like any good boss, she goes back to how she started her business and decides to clean the person's condo, penthouse herself.
Cleaning like she does listening to her music she does not hear Buddy, aka Dylan Prince come in. he is first taken by her shaking, movement of her backside to the beat of whatever she is listening to. When she turns, he is speechless by her beauty. He believes she is an employee of the company and when later the two by chance run into each other at a night club he still has no clue who she is. They spend the night together and for both it is amazing. She has finally met someone.
That all changes the next day, when she finds someone is trying to buy her company and a man by the name of Dylan Prince, is to negotiate the deal. The problem, really for her none for she does not and will not sell she does not need to. Her disappointment comes in Prince, can they work out a solution for them to be together? Read this very good story with good characters to find out.
I thought I would enjoy this book a lot more than I actually did. I love retelling of fairy tales, but this wasn’t really a retelling. Ella runs a cleaning business and Prince is the last name of her one night stand. After that the similarities end.
The story was a bit of a struggle to finish. I liked it ok, but I just wasn’t into it.
This was a fun read. I liked Buddy and Ella and the story kept my attention and the secondary storylines are interesting. It’s a sexy modern romance I would recommend!
Thank you Netgalley and Backlit pr for the ARC of dirty damsels. This book was fun, sexy, romantic and a little dirty. I really enjoy the work trope so I wanted to read this. This book was a but more out there then I'm used to but still really enjoyed it and found myself laughing alot so I do recommend.
4 1/2 stars 🌟 A sensational modern day love story. Wow do sparks fly with these characters. Their connection is off the charts. With every chapter of this story it feels like these characters take you a journey with them. Really connected with these characters. Sweet and steamy with drama and romance that hooks you right into this story and keeps you turning the pages right to the very end. Loved it and will keep an eye of for more books by this author. Happy reading!!
Buddy and Ella have an interesting story from beginning to end. The meet cute is so sweet and steamy. The follow up will set you on fire and then the real fun begins. I like Ella and her go get it attitude. She takes life head on and does wait for anyone to help her or let anything get in her way. Buddy is sweet, sexy and swoon worthy. The writing is solid, full of depth and dimension.
Well written, interesting, funny, well developed storyline and characters...
The kind of story that would never happen to me!
And beautiful cover.
Thank you to NetGalley and Backlit PR for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.
A really enjoyable read. I liked the heroine, how she tries to make a life by working hard and also living her life with her friends There are some great intimate moments between the main characters, some angsty situations as well and a good story overall. I think i wanted a bit more of them together but i enjoyed it as it was a fast-paced one and I'm looking forward to more books by the author
A cute book which was way small for the characters to be developed well. A modern-day take on Cindrella's story, this book took some creative liberties but wasn't able to carry the plot well. It was an okayish read.
I received a free copy from NetGalley.

A cute spin on a modern day fairytale .Cynderella has her own cleaning company....... see where this is going? She meets her prince charming, but things don't go according to plan. Throw in a stepmom and step sisters who are awful and you have a modern spin on a classic fair tale!
Books described as romantic comedies tend to fall into one of two types. There are those that leave you crying with laughter funny with a healthy dose of romance thrown in for good measure. Then there are those that you get to the end, see that it's supposed to be a romantic comedy and you wonder which bits you were supposed to laugh at. There are very few that are genuine romances with just the right dose of humour thrown in. Dirty Damsels is one of that very rare third type.
The story is loosely based on Cinderella. In this version Cinders (spelt Cynderella) owns a cleaning company. Her Prince Charming is a prince in surname only, but he is also sweet, charming and very handsome.
As I mentioned before, this book wasn't heavy-handed with the humour element, but there was certainly a light touch throughout the book which I really appreciated and enjoyed. The retelling of Cinderella also worked well. The evil stepmother and ugly (if through deed rather than appearance) sisters were all there.
I thoroughly enjoyed this romance and I'll certainly be back for more from Peggy Jaeger in the future.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Backlit PR for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Hmm not sure why I requested this, I guess I liked the cover but I usually don't like fairy tale remixes. I liked Ella and Buddy but a.m.e of the dynamics were off. Still it's a quick fluffy read. 3 stars
When Ella meets Buddy it is just a chance encounter with a stranger. When they meet again in a bar, out of character Ella spends the night with Buddy. It is only the next day when she realises who he really is - the man working to help take her business away from her. Can she trust him?
Great read - looking forward to the rest of this series.
