This was a really cute read. A Christmas novella about finding the love of your quirky life right beneath your nose. I especially loved how the H wasn’t your average aloha hero. Hot library nerd for the win!

Pretty steamy, the romance is pretty basic, but I’m assuming you don’t read these for the plot. Solid.

A candy cane-sweet novella about a shy new librarian and the circ clerk who brings him hot cocoa and tries to draw him out of his basement office. When they get trapped in the library by a snowstorm—on Christmas Eve, no less—sexy hijinks ensue. Very cute story.

I honestly didn't know that this was a novella when I first read it so I was pretty confused when the book finished so soon. At first I thought I had gotten a draft or sample instead of a full book and later on I figured it was novella. A shame at that too considering how smoking hot the book had been. Hopefully I'll get another chance to read Ms Peters books as they seem to make any living and breathing human hot and bothered.

I loved this story! I never read such a brilliant piece of work where it proves that love is for everyone. No matter what, if you listen to someone with your heart, you’ll find their true soul. And speaking of soul, this book pulled on my heartstrings. Yup. This one certainly checked off all the boxes of what I want to find in my reading!!

Love in the Stacks is a short, erotic read about a couple snowed in and left to their own devices. Needless to say, that ends up involving copious amounts of sex. For anyone who likes a lot of spice to their entertainment, this story definitely has an abundance to spare, but story wise, there’s not a lot happening. Overall, it’s a steamy, quick afternoon read.

Love in the Stacks is a enticing and spicy read! I thoroughly enjoyed this story of two unique librarians that were perfectly made for one another! They were sizzling and burned up the pages of the stacks in the library!

Poppy and Ben are librarians who come together in the basement stacks one Christmas Eve. The events leading up to it create sexual tension and it was adorably shy until they couldn't contain it any longer!

If you want a bit of heat and looking for a quick read, this is your ticket! I adored the characters and it was a fun read!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley. The rating and review are my opinion.

Library Circulation aid Poppy is intrigued by the "library troll" in the basement. She doesn't like that everyone teases Ben for being a loner archivist more interested in his work than being social and she also thinks he is super hot. One cup of slightly spilled hot chocolate brought as a gift to bring Ben out of his office to the staff holiday party leads to a night of debauchery in the stacks.

Overall for a short story this felt uneven. From the author note at the back Ben is neuro-divergent, but this isn't exactly laid out in the story itself. Also, as a library worker, many of the details of how work life is at the library felt unrealistic. Serving alcohol at a staff party then expecting two staff members to stay and close up the library, with patrons still there, felt not quite right.

Poppy's character felt more fleshed out than Ben and their quick jump into banging at work, with coworkers still there also didn't work for me personally.

Quick easy read. Poppy and Ben have chemistry and while Ben is quiet, he's also hot for Poppy. It would've been nice to see his POV, his feelings come into play. He was quiet and quite the puzzle. I enjoyed it, it was too short, there were questions I wanted answered but it was still a quick enjoyable read.

The most recent addition to New Bedford’s crack team of small-town librarians is Ben, a mysterious, tight recluse who prefers cataloging in the basement to interacting with his eccentric coworkers. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Delilah Peters is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.

2 stars
There was a lit of sex in this book, not a lot of plot line. I was left wanting more of a story for Poppy and Benjamin. Their chemistry was off the charts. Maybe I would have preferred a longer story and get some background on Benjamin. I felt there could have been more.

I thought this was really cute read. It isn't specified in the book but, I think Ben is on Autism-spectrum and do think it is handled well in such a short romance book. Plus I'm always a sucker for library setting.

I so enjoy these quick reads. This story reminds me of one I read before that was very similar. After all who doesn’t love a story about a librarian since we live for reading?

This one contains a surprising male lead that has a fabulously dirty mind and it is almost unexpected. But it’s always the quiet ones!

Good story with the insta-like theme, this one is quick, quirky, and sexy - just the way we like!

I love these quick reads.

Not much of a story - we never find out why Ben is the way he is - which wasn't a problem, but it might have been nice.

All in all, hot, sexy read.

As a bookworm, I can totally appreciate both the characters and the setting. These two are quirky and mildly awkward (I feel ya!) And it takes place in the ...library! What's not to love!?!

I seriously hope you have a sense of humor because awkward coupling is about to happen. Beware librarians get it on in the pages of this book. If you fear for the pages of literary masterpieces, relax only calendars were defiled in the pages of this book. I repeat not literary greats, including Far Side calendars, we're harmed in the writing, action, and reading of this book. It is safe for impressionable collectors, they won't wince or cry.

Had this been a test of you library's honor system, you would have failed. Fortunately, we have bigger things to worry about- like wrappers left in couch cushions.

This is a new author to me ishhh I read book one in this series but they are all standalone.. and I really didn’t even notice if any of the characters connected but I really do not think so. This book is sweet and naughty. This book is basically two sex scenese and that’s about it. But chemistry was placed in a good way but it was a bit over the top in my opinion. Also how many times are you going to remind me you are librarians? I think it would have been better if there was more storyline or even if the series continued a story line but that doesn’t seem to be what happened. This is not my favorite book but I would read another from this author.

This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.

This is the 2nd book by Delilah Peters that I have read. It was a cute story. I liked reading it. I just wish there was moreto the story.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Just couldn’t resist a story set in a library. If you like short but steamy romance stories, this is for you. Add some Christmas cheer and you have a perfect recipe for a fun frolic with naughty librarians.! Haha.

Ben and Poppy are trapped in the library they work at overnight due to a snowstorm. Ben is the newest addition to the library staff and has been called a recluse. He works in the basement cataloging and prefers to work by himself and away from his co-workers. Poppy works up the courage to bring him some hot cocoa and offer her friendship. She soon learns that Ben is a sweet and complicated man who tells it exactly like it is. They have the chance to explore a relationship during the snowstorm and realize that this might be more than really electric chemistry.

Love in the Stacks was a quick and very steamy read! I enjoyed it a lot! I liked the dynamic between the two characters and how sweet Ben was with Poppy. Very cute story line. It's the perfect quick Christmas read!

Thanks to Netgalley and Carina Press for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Heat Factor: There may be snow outside, but in here, the temperature is rising. And rising. And rising.
Character Chemistry: After recovering from an early misstep, these characters have exemplary communication skills
Plot: Librarians have sex in the library on Christmas Eve
Overall: I mean. It’s an Erotic Christmas Novella. What more could you ask for?

Love in the Stacks is from The Dirty Bits line by Carina Press - which means it’s a mini-romance that focuses on the sexytimes. That means that there’s not a lot of build up or detailed character work here.

Scene 1: I bring you hot chocolate and remind you of my name. You tell me I need to put air in my tires.

Scene 2: You give me my Christmas present - a tire gauge. And then you remove my underwear.

With that said, however, this is an extremely effective sexy romance that highlights verbal communication. Ben, our hero, is neurodivergent and therefore doesn’t really understand non-verbal cues. That means when Poppy first makes some friendly overtures to her new co-worker (the afore-mentioned hot chocolate), things are a bit awkward and confused. She thought she was sending clear signals, but he was scowling at her after he kissed her, so is he interested or not?

Once Ben explains his situation, they start putting things out in the open. Which means that there’s a lot of dirty talk and explicit discussions of desire which is both hot and makes for some interesting commentary on what makes a workable relationship. Poppy thinks:

“Are you alright?
It seems like such a simple question, but there’s so much to glean from it.
It’s a request for information that encompasses a world of questions: Did I hurt you? Did you like what I did to you? Did I make you feel special? Do you want me to do it again? Do you want me?”

And so they embark on some sexytimes that are centered around careful communication. Plus a very convenient snow storm which leaves them stranded in the library.

Because the story was so focused on talking about sexual satiation, Love in the Stacks was more emotionally satisfying than the average erotic novella.
