I have to admit, I just couldn't get into this story. Wonderful artwork but the story just didn't intrigue me.
Fathom: Cannon Hawke follows the story of, well, Cannon, who must face his own struggles with Taras. I had a hard time getting into the story for two reasons: one, I am not familiar with this universe and Cannon's backstory, so I felt lost a lot, and 2. I had a hard time reading the dialogue (it was in a weird font and too small even when I zoomed in). I am sure that whoever follows the series of Cannon Hawke will immensely enjoy this volume, but I, unfortunately, did not. Thank you NetGalley and Diamond Book Distributors for this eARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This was a pretty fun read. There was action, drama, mystery, adventure and so much more. Cannon was a man from a different world trying to live on the surface. Yet he discovers he can’t turn his back on his home when an old foe is trying to come back. He faces an inward struggle, one that almost kills him. As this tale came to a close it looked like things were going to be okay, at least for now. If you are a fan of the Fathom graphic novels then you will want to check this one out.
