A quick and concise guide that gives the reader a comprehensive look at climate change and the ways every person can make a difference. It helped reinforce changes I’ve already made and gave me ideas for more changes we can make.
Such an amazing and quick read that everyone should pick up to get a start with helping the environment! Greta has shaken the world and is such an amazing leader. This book helps give some quick and easy tips that ANYONE can integrate into their lives!
Some easy tips as provided by this book!
1. Drink tap water and carry your own bottle.
2. Waste no water
3. Rediscover bars of soap (Lush carries good ones! for shampoo and conditioner as well!)
4. Give bamboo a try too

Let's all go on a plastic-free picnic (with no waste)
5. Walk, cycle, and use public transportation
6. Store food in glass and ceramics
7. Be switched on about turning off lights and air-conditioning
8. Cultivate your garden
9. Explore the recycling center
All of these quick tips are amazing! Since I live in NYC for school, I love that I can walk just about anywhere (versus at home in the suburbs where lots of driving is required). I also love using the offcents app which is made to help people carbon offset their modes of transport. So, by walking, I can offset any car trips I have taken.
Though offsetting my plane trips is taking a while, you can also pay a small fee to offset your carbon footprint too! I've always had an interest in helping the environment, but I've always wanted to do more. Greta is so empowering. Youth is often portrayed as naive, and because of that, the voice of youth is simply taken as background noise. Greta has changed that. Not just for youth, but for anyone who has dedication and a message.
This is such a quick read and if you want to help better the environment with just a couple small changes in your routine you should definitely check this book out!
A good book for information on environmental issues, not quite what I was expecting. It doesn’t really dive into who Greta is as deeply as I expected or describe her journey. Some kids will enjoy this, Most will be turned away with all the details and definitions.
This is a short book explaining how Greta got started on her drive to change the world, climate change, and ways to reduce waste. I quite enjoyed this book. I knew nothing about Greta outside of that she was a climate activist. This book explains climate change in simple, easy to understand terms. It does a great job at expressing how important it is to take action now against climate change and to push lawmakers to do something.
I really recommend reading this book. It's a great start on understanding climate change and some basic things people can do to help reduce waste.

The perfect book and gift for someone in your life this christmas. Whether that be an adult who has joined the fight or a teen who you wish to inspire. It’s sincere look at the movement Greta has started will humble and compel anyone that reads it.
We Are All Greta calls young adults to action and urges them to take part in saving our planet while educating them on global warming and how to take care of our planet.

We Are All Greta may be a short book but it holds so much important information that everyone needs to read and fully understand! It lays out the issue of climate change out in a way that is easy to read and understand. Everything about this book makes climate change more personal and the changes that each person can make to help with combating climate change.
"We Are All Greta" by Giabbella is a must read for every middle school classroom. Giabbella does a wonderful job breaking down environmental and social issues and connecting them back together. The text is ideal for students in grades 5-8. It covers a range of science topics/concepts and leaves students with additional questions. There is just a handful of captivating middle school books and "We Are Greta: Be Inspired to Save the World" just made the cut.
This book taught me a lot more about climate change than what I already knew. It was so interesting to read the consequences,... about climate change in such an easy to understand context. The tips given at the end of the book (#MyClimateAction) were really useful and I definitely will take a look in making my life more sustainable.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher, for providing me with a free e-book for review. This is one awesome way of following the thought of help in climate change - no printed book and free access to the knowledge for everyone, who wants it.
A very nice short book, explaining the basics of climate change, its main causes and adding some advice on what can be done to fight climate change in big and small scale. The explanations are basic, as already mentioned, but this way a great start for everyone who hasn't yet looked that much into the topic, maybe didn't have the right education at school and no time for own research.
Also, I noticed that there are two versions of the book, UK and US, so that everyone can read the edition according to their preferred system of units.
As a hook, there's also some information on Greta, how she came to be what she is today and some of her famous speech lines.
I'd say it's a great start for discussions with people that are denying climate change and talking about the subject, as it gives you easy facts on hand that you can use to argument in such a talk.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you have no doubt heard about Greta Thunberg. She's been making waves and showing up in the news lately due to her climate activism. This book "We Are All Greta" is a book that can inspire people to try to make the planet a better place. The book talks about Greta in the first couple of chapters and then jumps to different topics such as fossil fuels, renewable energy, reducing plastic usage, etc. The book is chock full of scientific facts that middle grade kids should be able to understand, but the book is also a great read for adults, who may be looking for this information in an easily digestible format.
The book even has 10 actions that people can take to make their own positive impact on the world.
I recommend this book to anyone looking to learn more about global warming and how they can help make it better.
What a great little book. It's not too long, but long enough that it gets the important ideas across. I think everyone should read it, especially those who either A) don't believe in climate change even though it's a scientifically proven fact, or B) find the whole ordeal complicated and too sciencey. This book breaks it down into easy chunks that anyone could understand. It's really fascinating how one girl can inspire so many, in such a short period of time. This is what the world needs in order to take things seriously. And yes, there are always going to be those that talk young people down, or don't believe in climate change at all, but if we can shift the balance so that those who care and have passion outweigh the others, it will not matter. Coming from a place in Canada where the vast majority of our industry is based upon the extraction and usage of fossil fuels, causes like this I have a great amount of passion for, even in the communities I grew up in. We are all Greta, and we can all do our part.
We Are All Greta is a great book that teaches about the causes of climate change and what we as stewards of the planet can do to take care of our home. The book is thorough in its exploration of the science behind climate change and its solutions without being overwhelming and the visuals are bold and vibrant. The book has a hopeful tone and is suitable for late elementary school kids and beyond. Adults are sure to learn a thing or two as well! Highly recommend for purchase.
I’m a big fan of Greta Thunberg since she burst onto the scene in August of 2018 as a brave, knowledgeable and committed teenager striking from school to support governmental climate action in front of the Swedish parliament building. Her lone perseverance at age 15 ended up setting off a worldwide, chain reaction that rallied the student class to join environmentalists who have been sounding the alarm with little affect for decades. The power of her age, knowledge and passion for a threatened world is undeniable. But this book is less about her story than an updated survey of an old topic: Climate change. I can’t help but wonder if her name has been appropriated in the title to hook more readers in this time of climate crisis. In any case, I found the title misleading.
Greta’s awakening to the issue at such a young age and the profound impression it had on her is noted. We gain some appreciation of how her disorders, discovered as a result of her passions about the climate crisis, serve to empower her. And we catch a glimpse at her remarkable command of information on the topic through a variety of penetrating quotes, often undated losing important context both of the event and the point in her life when her remarks occurred.
Separate from that, the book itself offers important content for young, inquiring readers on the facts surrounding climate change from the history of the science and a good explanation of the “greenhouse effect” to how small global temperature changes over time can threaten life on Earth as we know it. Economic impact is addressed along with a chapter on fossil fuels, clean energy alternatives, the importance of resilience, plastics, biodiversity, agriculture, diet and sustainable development along with several other relevant topics. Limited color, 2-D illustrations powerfully punctuate the text and connect with charts and graphs in the same color scheme throughout the book that invite quick visual access to definitions and facts.
I found the writing uneven at best, with lovely similes on the one hand and gender biased language on the other. The US version still includes language unfamiliar to Americans, let alone children, as in “spanner” for instance. In all fairness, it’s never easy to render dry statistics and scientific facts scintillating, especially when dealing with such a complex and controversial topic. The concise and direct language may be more readily accessible to young readers new to a deeper investigation of climate change. Reference materials in the back include a glossary, a limited resource list of climate change websites, a bibliography and references.
A call to action threads its way through the book while invoking Greta as the leader for young people to follow. She is, indeed, inspirational. The book is less so but perhaps an important educational tool for young readers awakening to the impact climate change has on their future and what they might need to know to combat it.
This was an informative and helpful book for those who want to get into environmentalism. It's short, yet one can get some information from it and I really enjoyed the illustrations.
I want this book in my classroom library! "We Are All Greta", which is expected to be published on September 24, 2019 is a beautiful book that truly is inspiring. Highlighting the activism of Nobel Peace Prize nominee Greta Thunberg, author Valentina Giannella uses scientific research to show the current state of our world and how each of us can contribute to solving the climate crisis. What may surprise readers is how so many of our current world's problems - poverty, deforestation, global warming, food wastage - are related to the larger issue of climate change. As I read, I kept finding myself thinking about what I could still do to further lower my footprint. We all need to lower our footprints - and this book is a great place to start.
With thanks to NetGalley and @laurencekingpub for allowing me to read and review an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
"The more Greta realized that she was able to make a difference, the stronger and more powerful she felt."
I loved the book: the way information was communicating with the reader without being read as a textbook. Climate change is nowadays a hot issue and rightfully so. I cannot recommend the book enough!
I would like to thank the publisher for giving me a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Books like We Are All Greta should be required reading material, everywhere! We are at a critical point where action must be taken if we want any chance of preventing further climate change and global warming - before it is too late.
We are on a course of irreversible, man-made damage to our planet, but we can all play a part in saving. Just by making what may seem as small changes to our everyday lives will, in turn, have an even greater impact on our planet. If you want to do your part, then read this book!
It's about time we take care of our planet and do whatever we can to protect it - because there is no planet B.
"Our biosphere is being sacrificed so that rich people in countries like mine (GT) can live in luxury. It is the suffering of the many which will pay for the luxuries of the few...We need to focus on equity." This sums up so much of the drive behind this entire issue. The people and corporations that want to ignore this as a problem are willingly doing so by disregarding the clear science and out of greed. Meanwhile the inequity grows larger. This will only hasten the problem rather than help it. As was pointed out, one of the key factors in mass immigration is climate change. No longer having a climate that allows stability, growth of crops, clean water, access to adequate food and jobs all become the driving forces behind violence and migration patterns. The increase in climate disasters add to this as well. This is an informative, well written book. It has terrific illustrations and a good, simple message about our personal ability to act in a way that can make positive change. I feel like the message is appropriately written for the intended audience as well as adults who are interested in this topic and need a synopsis. What great courage and intelligence to develop a plan and move forward as Greta is doing.
We should all be Greta.
Highly Recommend.

I can only base this on the introduction as the rest of the book was not in the digital copy I received. But I'm so happy that there is now a book out there about Greta.
