This is my first TL Swan ARC and read. I got it from NetGalley. The blurb lured me in, and so here we are.

I'm so glad I discovered TL Swan and chanced upon this book. There wasn't a dull moment. Every chapter piqued my interest and kept me wanting for more. It kept me on my toes and kept me guessing—will they or not?

I was riveted from the first page to the last. Everything went on so smoothly... the pacing was great, the characters were fascinating and the overall story itself was gripping.

Normally, I hated a lot of push and pull but it was done so seamlessly that it all works out and was really needed in the story. I hadn't rolled my eyes even once... I loved everything!

Discovering this awesome author was such a breath of fresh air... I must've been living under a rock. I checked her goodreads profile and I feel so embarrassed because I missed out on a lot of great reads from her. But don't worry, I'm going to rectify that very soon.

And just incase it's not obvious, yes. I'm completely gushing about Jameson and Emily's story and I can't wait to read Tristan's next!

This was my first book by TL Swan and she will be on my radar from now on! The Stopover follows a known romance trope: office romance between the CEO and one of his employees, but of course they met and hit it off before they knew this. If you enjoy this type of romance, I think you will enjoy this one. A few things that I found detracted from the overall storyline: the Jameson taking advantage (way too much) of his position at work to get his way, and Emily's "safe" gay friend that she can hang out with and not provoke Jameson's jealousy. Overall, I enjoyed this book and thought the dialogues of their fights rang true.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

T L Swan is a new author to me and I found the story quite good. The story is fast paced, the main characters have great chemistry and the secondary charters help to make the story. Jameson is quite the arrogant ass but you gotta love him because he tries so hard for Emily. She’s relentless, doesn't let him slide on anything. What started as a drunken night of sex becomes a great HEA. Looking forward to the next book.

This is another one of those books that makes you wonder why stories like this never happen in real life, *sigh*. The writing was really good, and the characters were even better. I loved reading about them and omg I recommend this to every reader who loves reading romance books!

This was my first read by this author but it won't be my last! It was exceptionally better than I had anticipated from reading the blurb and for a book that was quite long, it flowed easily and I found myself not being able to put it down. I loved Emily and Jameson's characters and their chemistry was off the charts. I have to say there were times when I wanted to shake some sense into both of them! Very interesting storyline with well developed secondary characters that hit all the marks of a 5-star read for me. I can't wait to read Tristan's story next!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

The Stopover by T L Swan was my first book by this author and I'm sure it won't be my last. This book reminded me why I love reading romance. It had everything but I particularly loved Emily. She wasn't a pushover nor was she soft and gentle. She was fiery and said what needed to be said. I loved her interaction with Jameson and how she didn't take any bull. This book featured many of the modern romance novel tropes but I loved how the author twisted them and brought elements that I wasn't expecting. there was drama of course, but it was done in a way that hasn't been done before. The passion Emily and Jameson shared was well written and not over done. The writing was excellent and story flowed really well. there was passion, tension, suspense, and everything I love about romance. The ending was perfect too. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable read and well worth five stars.

This is the first time I've read anything from this author and it will not be the last. The story line was great and both characters of the story got my full attention. The plot was very interesting and the secondary characters were a great add, which made me want to know what happens to them after. It was also very hot!!
I will now retire and read the other published works from this author...

4* Broody Alpha Stars

I was so excited to dive into the story of Emily and Jim/Jameson because you know that you will get a sexy and feisty read and it did not disappoint.

Emily first meets Jim when she is upgraded to First Class on her way to New York for a job interview. As much as Emily tries to ignore Jim who is seated next to her, it proves to be fruitless and after a few drinks and movie watching the flirting begins and the banter between them hilarious. When the flight is diverted to Boston due to bad weather the chemistry between them is ignited and they end up spending the night together with no strings attached and Emily goes back to LA without attending her job interview.

Twelve months later Emily eventually finds her way to New York and lands her dream job at Miles Media, where her job interview had been scheduled before the diversion stopover in Boston. Unbeknown to her she crosses paths with “her” Jim who happens to be the CEO and is known to everyone as Jameson. Once again, their passion is rekindled and as hard as Emily tries to keep it at bay and professional, she is fighting a losing battle.

I enjoyed the “push and pull” between the alpha moody workaholic Jameson and feisty likeable Emily. There was some mild angst to their story as well as sizzling hot romance.

I loved their story and they kept me entertained and laughing out loud too especially the camping scene.

Many thanks to Amazon Publishing UK for my copy to read and review.

Hot! Hot! Hot! This is a type of book that I never read but I am sure glad I made an exception with this one. The characters were all realistic and most were very likable. There are lots of steamy love scenes as well as lots of laugh out loud situations. The funniest being the camping trip. It had me hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!!!
Thanks Net Galley for allowing me to read this arc for my honest review.

The Stopover (Miles High Club series) is my first T.L. Swan book but it won't be my last. I was hooked in just reading the book description and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Great writing, witty banter, suspense, loads of steamy scenes and just enough angst to keep you up late reading. Now I'm off to read the rest of the authors books :)

Oh the drama and the angst and the snarkiness and the sneering and the smirking and the bitchy and the a-holiness. This book had all of that and more!

While I own other books by this author, this is the first one I have read, and I enjoyed her style overall. I looked at her bio because some of the word choices she use are decidedly not American, though all of the characters in this story were American. The title is one of the examples because in America, we say "layover" as opposed to "stopover." Turns out, she's an Aussie, so that explains the inconsistencies with the wording.

Jameson (aka Jim, aka Jay) Miles is a 37 year old American billionaire businessman born into a media empire aptly named for his family who runs the business: Miles Media. As the eldest of 4 boys, he is the CEO, and thus carries the bulk of the responsibilities and stress. While on a flight from the London office back to the New York HQ, he meets a beautiful woman on the plane: mid-20's Emily Foster. Emily was unexpectedly upgraded at the last minute when flying back to California via NYC from a wedding she attended, and after seeing her ex hanging all over the new gf the entire time, she is not in the mood for bs. So when the man next to her that introduces himself as "Jim" starts trying to talk to her, she doesn't hold back with what she thinks about his custom tailored suit, Rolex, intellectual airplane movie choices, assumption in asking for champagne for both of them without her input, and the generally snooty air around him. But for the 6 hours they are on the plane with the champagne freely flowing, they end up flirting outrageously, and when the weather in NYC forces the plane to re-route to Boston for the night, they end up having a very passionate night together. When Jim leaves in the morning, Emily is a little put off that he doesn't ask for her number, and while she moves on, she constantly comes back to that night as the very high standard for all passionate encounters.

Fast forward to a year later.... Emily has finally landed a dream journalist job with the company she has always wanted to work for: Miles Media. It took months and many interviews along with a move across the country, but here she is on day 1 walking through the doors and up to the 40th floor to dive right in. When an HR rep comes by her desk to take her on the grand tour, they stop by the executive offices, and when the CEO (who is rarely around) happens to be in his office, he allows them to come in for introductions. And you guessed it - it's "Jim." Emily is floored, and Jameson is surprised too (though he is able to hide it a little better). How can she work for the man she shared the best sex of her life with? But she brushes it off because she is told he is never around, and her job would not have much intersection with his, as some of her co-workers have never even seen him, so all should be fine. Except that she gets an email when she gets back to her desk. From Jameson. Requesting a "private meeting" at 8 AM the next day. This is going to get interesting....

Jameson ("Jay" to family and friends) shared the most passionate night he has ever had with Emily a year ago and has been a little fixated on her since, but he has a complicated life (both professionally and personally), so while he is very interested in hooking up with her, he is not able to be in a committed relationship. This does not keep him from doggedly pursuing her, including watching her while she is working via surveillance cameras (creepy much?). And when Emily comes to him with a major problem she inadvertently stumbles across, it is the perfect chance for Jay to keep her close. But can he convince her to agree to his no-strings sexcapades? What happens when the connection becomes deeper for both of them? And when a rival threatens damage to the woman he has come to care about, will he be able to protect her?

What I liked:
--- Emily was likeable as a "normal" girl in a material world, and as a reader, you definitely found yourself rooting for her
--- The problem Emily unearthed added some twists to the story
--- Oh the steamy goodness, and just the way I like it

What I didn't like as much:
--- The author was constantly using words like "smirk," "sneer," "snarky" in the responses with each other - all of those (to me) have negative connotations, so I was a little put off with the constant attitude
--- For me, there were a lot of unanswered/unaddressed issues ***BEGIN SPOILER*** What was Claudia's role in this? She was the only one that Jameson told he was going to marry Emily, and then the set up with the kiss with Jake had a headline of "Miles CEO's finacee found carrying on with another man..." so she had to have been involved, but there was never any hint of any of that. And then, what was the deal with Jake at all? He was brought in as part of a professional corporate "spy" group to unearth the mole, but he basically acted like a flirty jackass the entire time and then set Emily up? What the hell was that about and how did it even come about? There was no explanation at all on that very critical plot point. I guess we are supposed to assume that Gabriel Ferrera orchestrated everything? It just seemed unlikely bc the spy group was hired by the Miles Media attorney, so how would Gabriel (who was in this book for all of 2 scenes) have known? So many unresolved/unanswered plot points. ***END SPOILER***
--- Emily was 100% focused on getting a job with Miles Media for years -- there is no way in the real world that she would not have known who the CEO was, and there is equally no way that there wouldn't be photos of him anywhere... especially since it was described as the top MEDIA company in the world (eye roll)
--- Jameson was very hard to like - some of the things he did were terrible, and one (which I will just call "stopover 2" so as not to spoil anything) was straight effed up unforgivable
--- I had a very strong personal reaction to Jameson's behavior ***BEGIN SPOILER*** when he would freeze Emily out completely and be totally cold, then out of the blue get all "I need you/I miss you" and be "all or nothing," then be a total dick again... I had the exact same thing happen to me with the only man I have truly loved - one day, he would be "I love you so much/I need you" and talk about us getting married, etc. and then (for literally no reason), he would block me on his phone and work messenger (yes, workplace romance situation also, though no reporting relationship between us) and was straight hostile to me in meetings; I'd be miserable for days/weeks (just like our h in this story), and then he'd show up on my front steps out of the blue begging me to forgive him... After things finally ended (very badly and to the extent that I had zero self-esteem bc I couldn't understand what was wrong with ME that made him treat be so badly which led me to a very dark place for a long time), he found me on social media 10 years later and asked me to give him another chance while promising he had his shit together and that this time would be all about me, he'd never hurt me again.... So I did go back (this was not very long ago). And he shattered my heart yet again and severed all contact --- and, once again, I did absolutely nothing to deserve any of it. So the character of Jameson brought that back and opened a major wound for me. I did not like Jameson's character at all once he started to pull that bs on the h ***END SPOILER***

Overall, a solid office romance/second chance story with some steamy goodness but a lot of unresolved and unanswered questions along with a H that was inexcusably cruel at times.

Plot --- 3/5
Main Characters --- 3/5 (Jameson 1/5; Emily 4/5)
Supporting Cast --- 4/5
Steam Level* --- 4/5
Violence --- none
Language --- the f word makes appearances early & often
POV --- Dual POV (but mostly from Emily's)

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild; 2/5 - sensual but nothing descriptive; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere; 4/5 - yes please! ; 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC.

I enjoyed this book but I found it was very similar to other erotic novels. The author did make this one hard to put down though and I enjoyed the comedic parts of the story. I liked the characters in this book, however they were rather predictible.

Fans of other erotic fiction would love this book.

So I was looking for a story with a bit of age gap, enemies to lovers and office romance. The Stopover has all of that so why wasn't I happy. I don't know. The formula didn't work.

I got so annoyed with the two characters bickering over nothing and then having sex like animals. Just to do it again. By 34% of the book, I was exhausted and didn't care about them any further but I was hoping that the whole mystery issue would keep me entertained but nope.

This may work for some but it didn't hit my sweet spot. Since I loved the other books by this author, I still look forward to Tristan's story.

My heart sighed and cried with this romance novel- in fact, it is one of my favorite romances this year! Push this to the top of your reading list! Just insta- buy this! You will not regret it- just please treat yourself and buckle yourself in for one hot ride!

Emily gets boosted to first class where she meets her seat mate, Jim. Flustered and sexually charged, Emily and Jim have instant chemistry. With the help of an extended flight and layover, Emily and Jim spend a steamy and forever altering night together. The one con?! He doesn't ask for her number... A year later Emily gets her dream job and runs into the one who got away. But Jim is definitely not what she expected, he is entirely different and more...

This novel was very well done. It was relatable yet made me laugh. The author did a great job in pulling apart what makes relationships work and what makes them tick. I loved everyone in this book not because they were perfect but because of their innate flaws. I rate this a 5 out of 5 stars!!! This is my first book I've read by TL Swan and I would be interested in reading more.

This is definitely worth the buy! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #NetGalley #TheStopover

4 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first read by this author and I was really pulled in by the burb but I had no idea that this book was 500+ pages long!!!!
Strangely enough that didn't seem to matter much to me once I started reading it, as this was essentially a pretty good story and I really did enjoy the writing. I was hooked almost immediately!!!

I really loved and enjoyed the chemistry and flirtatious interactions between Jameson and Emily, there were definitely many hilarious and laugh out loud moments here as well as some eye rolling and twitchy moments but I felt that this was mainly due to the inclusion of more drama than I necessarily would have cared for in this otherwise engaging and entertaining read. Overall though this book did have a really good vibe for me and I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

A SOPHISTICATED ROM-COM WITH A GENEROUS SIDE OF DRAMA.

We have a sassy heroine (Emily) and a slightly bipolar hero - Jameson and his alter ego Jim.

This is my first book by this author and I have conflicting feelings. The story had lots of potential and I thought the first part of the book was cute and funny but as it progressed the characters became unlikable and mean. The writing style was not my favorite either, there were so many plot holes. I finished it mostly to see how bad it could get.... Just no!

I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

Emily and Jim meet on a flight to New York, where Emily is finally going to have her chance to take an interview for her dream job as a reporter for Miles media!
But fate is not (or maybe it is on her side) when due to a storm the plane is diverted to Boston and she spends the hottest sexiest night of her life with Jim, the hottest guy she's ever met and a one night stand she can't and probably won't ever forget!!
Move on 1 year and she's in New York again for her 2nd chance at a job with Miles Media! Of course she walks into the interview to none other than Jim, who is actually Jameson Miles, the CEO!!
I was thoroughly entertained by this book. Jim was definitely a man with issues!! over the top, jealous, alpha, that most of the time had me in giggles. He was definitely a handful and not only in the bedroom if you get my drift!!! Beneath his issues he really was a good guy!! T
I really liked Emily, and her no filter, she definitely wasn't letting Jim have an easy time and challenged him at every step!! She pushed at every one of his boundaries and i loved it !!
Super supporting characters and at times even with my frustrations with Jim and Emily i found myself in fits of laughter. We get it all in this book, the serious side, the fun, and the emotional upheaval along with a mystery!
