The Stopover is a delicious trifecta of hot, funny, and sexy. This was my first T.L. Swan book and whoa do I feel late to the party. Usually, I'm ok with that because then I can gorge on all their earlier works... but I have the distinct feeling I've been gypping myself. I think I can console myself that this book was the first of the Miles High Club series.

Those of you who know me know I absolutely love characters with good banter and zing! that just spark off the pages... and oh boy, do Emily and Jameson have that in spades! From the moment they meet to the last page their relationship is that addicting type of give and take.

And not only do we have characters that give good pa! but T.L. gives us a strong heroine! I love a good female lead. Emily gave as good as she got. There were a couple of times when maybe she went a bit over the top but so does Jameson so... I will take it. Emily didn't go meekly into the night, she stood strong. The second he apologizes (and he screwed up a lot!), she didn't run back turning into a simpering miss, No! she held her own and kept her own mind. That! my darling is a plus, plus, plus for me.

Jameson/Jim/Jay (and all his 2 thousand saucy personalities) was no slouch either. He was hot, sexy, grumpy, cocky, and sometimes a bit high handed but he really tried to do right once his flash of temper ran down. I absolutely love it when we get to see the growth of characters, especially these impossibly grumpy men we love to watch grumble and alpha up the pages.

I was a little daunted when I saw this was 500+ pages, but honestly, once I got started, I had a hard time putting the book down. I literally had to bargain with myself on when I could read because I just wanted to put everything else on hold and gorge myself. The Stopover was deliciously addicting.

I absolutely recommend this book and am waiting on bated breath for the next book!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for this generously provided ARC!

3.5 stars!

The Stopover is the first book in The Miles High Club Series and my first read by T.L. Swan. Let me first say this is a really good story that I found addictive and well-written. Overall, I definitely enjoyed it more than I didn't. I liked the banter between Jameson and Emily, and I found myself laughing out loud a few times (the camping scene was hilarious). Together they have off-the-chart chemistry, they're flirtatious, and like to work each other up, but personally I had so many mixed feelings about Jameson. He was wayyyy to moody and pushed my buttons wrong sometimes. This is definitely one of those times when I find myself in the minority considering the other reviews and ratings and I was really close to giving this book four stars, but I settled on a 3.5 stars because while I really loved parts of it, there were some things that bothered me....I don't know. I guess the constant drama and fights between the MCs just didn't really work for me and that prevented me from falling in love with this book. That being said, I will definitely read the next book in the series featuring Jameson’s brother, Tristan because he truly was an amazing secondary character in this book.

Sadly I had to DNF this at 40%. I thought that the characters were immature and really irritating. They were either having sex or arguing, and I was so bored reading about it. I can't even believe there is another 60% left! Jameson was a total nut job in my opinion, he spied on Emily through cctv at work, I think he got her phone number illegally from the employer files, he was controlling, possessive and a bit of a dick to be honest! When will books stop glamourising this kind of behaviour and relationship? Emily.. Well her personality was all over the place. The writing was quite cringe worthy, the dialogue and so called banter miserable. I just couldn't read on. The only reason I read so far, was because this was rated highly by a few friends on Goodreads. I do apologise to any friends I have who did like this, and I did give it a fair try. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this!

I had a difficult time with this story. It is my first by this author and it did not impress me. I found the main characters to be confusing and contrary. Emily kept waffling between being shy “I’m not really that kind of girl” to … not. And she is vengeful. “ … he can apologize and beg for me to come back, and then I can punish him …” Jameson came across as implacable and jealous. Other than the smoking hot insta-lust, I couldn’t justify any deep emotion between them as they always seemed to be fighting. The characters I did like were Aaron and Molly. There was a little mystery that kept me going but otherwise it took effort to read this story to the end.

An enjoyable read about Jameson and Emily who meet on a stopover diverted away from New York.
As the story contains various surprises and an embezzlement there is much to enjoy.
I would love to read more by TL Swan.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary and impartial review.

Undeniable immediate attraction, push & pull, mystery and angst. T.L. Swan at her finest! I was pulled in from the get go and could not put this down! The chemistry between the characters is palpable. This is a must read!
Can't wait for what's to come next from T.L.Swan!

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

This story has a lot of the elements I most like in books: a hero who is a jerk, who is a billionaire CEO, who has a dirty-mouth. And I liked Jameson a lot, but it took me some time to get into the story and then it became flat at some moments and then it picked up the pace again.

Overal I liked it. It was interesting, but maybe too long? I think the issue wasn't the lenght of the book, but how it pulled me and then pushed me. I liked it but it didn't quite reach the mark. I will say this though, I enjoyed the story more from the second half of it on. I think it needed a bit more editing, but overal I enjoyed it.

And althouh I like a jerkish hero, Jameson was maybe too mercurial at times. And that was a bit frustrating in some scenes. But the heroine didn't help sometimes either. I did feel the chemistry between them and I liked them as a couple a lot.

This was my first book by T.L. Swan and I liked it more than I originally thought I would from the first half of it. I'll keep my eyes out for the next releases, because I want to see how the writing in the next books mature.

„This man is everything I’m not looking for, but he’s somehow ticking every box.”

Wow, what a ride! The Stopover was my first read from TL Swan, but it sure won’t be the last! Emily and Jameson’s story was a real rollercoaster, full of inescribable lust and constant banter. This book is like a clash of characters, with strong tempers and even stronger chemistry. The whole plot was unpredictable, just like our characters behaviour. And I loved every second of this journey!

Unpleasant situation at the airport resulted in upgrading Emily’s ticket to the first class. That’s where she met Jameson- handsome, sophistcated man with whom she spent the unexpected stopover. Their night was full of passion and unforgettable memories. One year later Emily started a new job in her dream company. And as it turns out the CEO is none other than her one-night stand from last year. He wants to to pick up where they left off. She wants to keep things professional and don’t mix the business with pleasure. Especially, when CEO-Jameson is nothing like the fun and carefree guy she remembers. Instead she deals with an arogant and commanding jerk, who thinks that world evolves around him. But it is possible to stay indifferent, when the chemistry is so strong? How can they ignore the lust that’s pouring from every fiber of their bodies?

This couple is explosive, whether they’re arguing or getting intimate. I was seriously expecting some kind of boom, because their characters were so similar. The constant push and pull was driving me insane, but at the same time I loved every second of Jameson and Emily’s intense relationship. TL Swan paired a total alpha with very strong heroine and that resulted in a combustible combination. I loved to see how they tried to find some compromise, to control themselves and work on their relationship. Because their connection? That’s something unique and remarkable.

I highly recommend this story, but you need to equip yourself with patience. Jameson and Emily can easily drive a person crazy with their constant bickering. But the conclusion is worth every single frustrating argument between these two. Brilliant story! I can't wait to read about other Miles brothers.

I’ve read quite a few books by TL Swann and enjoy her work. Be forewarned, you won’t find a lot of character development in her books, but you will find lots of sex and over-the-top relationship drama. If you like a push-and-pull romance with lots juvenile behavior and temper tantrums from your hero and heroine, then The Stopover is where it’s at. Her formula isn’t for everyone, but this is a easy read and will have you hooked for the next installment in the Miles Brothers series.

Spoiler alert - This older man/younger woman, troubled billionaire romance starts off with sweet young thing, Emily, and hot billionaire CEO, Jim meeting during a transatlantic flight. After hours of flirting and sexy banter, their flight is delayed and they spend a steamy, sex-filled night together. Alpha-male, Jim, rocks Emily’s world, but sadly doesn’t get her number. They don’t see each other for another year until she coincidentally lands a job at his family’s publishing company.

On a tour of her new office, Emily is taken to meet the boss who’s is none other than, Jameson Miles, her hot one-night stand, Jim. Emily can’t believe it’s him! Surprise! Jim still wants her and sets about luring her into a friends with benefits arrangement. Emily just wants to do a good job at work and try not to get her heart broken by the boss.

In between the push-and-pull drama, Emily and Jim have a lot of arguments and sex...and more arguments and more sex. ;). There is an element of a mystery at work that they work through (guess who saves the day). In the end, underneath his hot alpha male persona is a sweet man who wants someone to love and accept him and Jim and Emily get their HEA.

Another amazing 5 star story by TL Swan. Since I discovered this author a few months ago, I can’t seem to get enough of her great stories.

Emily met Jim on a plane, they have a stopover due to bad weather. They connected and spent an unforgettable night together. Now a year later they meet again. He owns the company she started working for. Things are about to get very interesting.

This was a very humorous kind of story. Jim is a broody, stressed out CEO. She doesn’t take his crap and she’s not a pushover. The bantering between these 2 is quite funny and highly entertaining.

Beautifully written with a seamless plot that sucked me in the world of the imagination. I was addicted and entertained until the very last page read. The characters were perfectly created. It is also suspenseful. Bottomline this is a must read.

Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but, I wondered all the way through the first half of this book if they were going to do anything other than have sex. I mean, seriously, like every other page they were going at it again. They did seem a little sated towards the last 1/4 of the book but it took away from the story for me. I would have liked for the characters to spend a little more time fully clothed and a little less time bickering. The push and pull, all the back a forth wore on me a little. Having said all that, I did enjoy the book. This is my first read from T.L. Swan and will likely read the rest of the series.

I received an ARC of this book and am so grateful. It is pure romance that had my rooting for Emily and "Jim" from the very beginning. They don't have the most conventional start to their relationship as they meet on an airplane and spend a special night together during a layover, but their relationship really takes off when Emily gets her dream job working for "Jim's" company. The sparks, banter and undeniable attraction kept me engaged and not wanting to put the book down!

Such a great story. This was not what I was expecting, but in a good way. Jim and Emily meet on a plane ride and have some hot chemistry. He doesn’t ask for her number and they don’t see each other again. Emily moves to New York for her dream job at Miles Media, where she sees Jim. They begin a messy relationship. They are both very hot headed and don’t back down from an argument. I loved how Emily was a strong woman and didn’t let her carnal urges take over her reasoning. There were so many times he broke her heart through this book that I wasn’t sure if she’d ever give him a real shot. My heart broke right along with hers.
The writing was so amazing, I got lost in the story and characters and I devoured this book in 1 day. I most definitely will read more books from this author.
My review was given honestly via an ARC from Netgalley.

This is my first TL Swan read but I know it won't be my last. I love finding new to me authors at I know I will search out again. The Stopover is the beginning of the Miles High Club and if you are about a bossy alpha male then I think you should check out this series. You will meet the four Miles brothers and they are used to getting what they want. In this book we have Jameson the CEO as our lead.

As the CEO for Miles Media Jameson is too busy for love and relationship. So when an attractive woman who honestly doesn't know who he is, he lets his guard down a little and decides to have some fun during the long flight from London to New York. He wasn't prepared for the longing and feelings that would stick with him long after he was gone. Pleasantly surprised a year later when she shows up as their newest employee.

Emily has been working towards her dream job at Miles Media for years. Finally after many interviews and a year later she has finally landed that job. She is jumping right into the management floor. Moving herself from California to New York alone to follow her dreams. Imagine her surprise when she is taken in the CEO's office for introductions and finds Jim her life changing one night stand during a layover.

This book was a constant push and pull between a bossy man used to getting what he wants, including woman falling at his feet and a smart sassy young woman who is independent, refusing to be pushed around. As they navigate their way into each others lives slowly, they are meet with company issued to add to the stresses. Will they be able to ride the waves and come out unharmed and together or will waves cause Jameson to choose business over love? Ms. Swan does a great job of mixing in some suspense throughout this book, that will keep you reading to the end to see what really happened.

I wonder which Miles brother will get his story next?

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book that was so well executed. I loved it! It grabbed ahold of me and wouldn’t let go. The angst is some of the best I’ve read and the chemistry was perfect with lots of steamy scenes. And did I mention that I loved it?
It put lots of smiles on my face and at other times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. It had all the feels and was just the rollercoaster I was hoping for. I’m going to read every book I can get my hands on from this author. She’s my new favorite. ♥️
What I loved:
• The Writing
• Emily (my favorite female heroine yet)
• Jameson (I actually love him and hate him)
• The Angst
• The Camping Trip
• HEA
This was a stand-alone but there will be other books about the brothers! Yay!
This was a NETGALLEY book and all opinions are my mine. I loved it and want all my friends to read it!

One of the best romances this year!

What a terrific book! Strong, sexy characters, corporate intrigue, an amazing cast of friends and co-workers, loads of witty and intelligent humor, and a writing style that had me hooked from the very first line. Jameson's pursuit of Emily nearly borders on harassment, except that she can't say, even to herself, that it's unwanted. Still, she's no pushover, and has no trouble standing her ground and defending her priorities.

I really enjoyed the complex story, and I appreciated the fact that their "one night stand, one year ago" didn't result in the far-too-common secret baby trope. This story doesn't take any of the predictable paths, instead taking the reader on a truly unique adventure, a romance that is everything a love story should be while still feeling fresh and original. The HEA perfectly ties up all the story threads and leaves us wishing for our own entry to the Miles High Club. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I had never read anything by bestselling author TL Swan but the book info at NetGalley for this advanced copy of The Stopover, the first in “Miles High Club” series—a meet cute on an airplane resulting in a steamy, earth shaking one night stand and later learn that the handsome stranger will be her boss’s boss—well, how could I resist?

The story is a page turner from the beginning with likable characters—a snarky, smart heroine who IS NOT a pushover, a woman who professes her love of romance books—
“I just love true stories, regardless of what they are.”
“So do I,” I reply. “That’s why I love romance. It’s true.”
—and a handsome, powerful man who ends up changing his ways for the love of a woman worthy.

Jameson Miles, our Mr Darcy-like alpha male, has never really been in love with anyone or anything but his company, yet that is about to change when newly-arrived to NYC Emily Foster steps into her dream job as a reporter at Miles Media. But deception is afoot when corporate stock takes a tumble, and it is revealed company secrets, as well as millions of dollars, are stolen. Who is the culprit? When Jameson is set up and Emily looks to be the traitor, all seems lost for this couple.

A few quibbles: 1) Jameson has “big blue eyes”, “big, bright eyes”, “beautiful deep-blue eyes”, “piercing blue eyes”, “blazing blue eyes”, “brilliant blue eyes”... the repetition of the same words to describe this feature seemed lazy and annoying; 2) his ex-fiancé is described to be with a London barrister now but then later, it seems like that detail is lost; and 3) there is this entire build up about someone stealing Miles Media news stories for another media source—and that seems to have been forgotten as well when the chaos of embezzlement hits. But as I loved the story and these characters so much—and can’t wait to read more about the Miles brothers—I did not let these points hinder my enjoyment.

So much to recommend: suspense, intrigue, passion, and that push-and-pull we love in a romance novel. Perfect read to snuggle under the blankets with as the autumn chill arrives.

Rated Mature for provocative sex and nudity.

I had high hopes for this book. The premise of two characters meeting in an airplane and having an unforgettable night followed by meeting unexpectedly in the future had me all excited. However, that excitement didn't last. The push and pull between the characters drove me nuts. Jameson almost seemed bipolar at times. One moment he was all in and the next he was sabotaging his relationship. And Emily was often witchy for no reason or a complete pushover. She had the backbone of a wet noodle. This book also had a lot of extra stuff that didn't enhance the story in my opinion. I still cannot understand the whole Claudia thing. I get that some of it was needed for the story but not all of it. It just made a VERY long story feel even longer.

That being said, I still appreciate this author and her hard work. I know that she is dedicated to writing a solid story and works hard at her craft. This is just an example of the power of books because even though this was not a book for me it seems from the reviews that it was for them. AND that is what is important.

Unfortunately, this was not the book for me. I didn't like the constant back and forth between Jameson and Emily. Since they kept breaking up and getting back together, it made the book a lot longer than necessary. I also thought Jameson was a huge asshole and I'm tired of the asshole male love interest. I was actually more interested in the Miles Media mystery and the side characters, so I was a bit disappointed that everything was quickly resolved with little explanation.

This book... it kinda gutted me. It’s a very, very intense and emotional read that hooked me from the beginning. The author’s writing makes it easy to get lost in the story, and I felt like I was running through all of the same emotions as our heroine. It is quite the journey, and I loved the ride.

The story follows Emily, a young reporter who gets upgraded to first class on her plane ride and winds up flirting and bantering with her seatmate, Jim. They open up to each other in a way that they wouldn’t normally, knowing that they’ll never see each other again. When the plane gets detoured overnight, they wind up spending a sexy evening together, creating some unforgettable memories. Twelve months later, Emily still looks back on that night fondly - so when she discovers that the CEO of the company at her new job is none other than her one night stand, she’s not sure what to think. But Jameson in everyday life is not the same Jim that she met on the plane; he is powerful, demanding and used to being in control. He wants a repeat of their night together, but Emily isn’t so sure she likes the man she’s getting to know.

It’s a total push/pull relationship that’s real, raw and a struggle because they fell for the people they are deep down, not the people they are on the surface. I loved this concept; it felt so fresh and unique, but 100% believable - Jameson can’t let his guard down like that with most people, and he never would’ve if he’d expected to see Emily again. It’s an incredibly sensual book with countless sex scenes, but each one is unique and so intimate that they really showcased where these two are in their relationship. There were times when I was completely turned off by Jameson (as was Emily), but I could never give up on him entirely. Glimpses of the man underneath the surface really made this book, and the pages flew by. This is a 500 page book and I read it in 24 hours - that tells you how much I enjoyed it. Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this intense and sexy book, and am most definitely looking forward to the next one in the series.
