This is a lovely memoir of a family, a restaurant, and a particular time and place. The author and her many brothers and sisters first resent and then learn to understand their restaurateur father by working in his restaurant during the busiest meal of the week,. The second half of the book really shines, as the author shares her stories of being an adult child of parents who are beginning to show their frailties.
