Ive been looking for a self help type book for a while. I have anxiety, not terrible anxiety, nothing that needs meds or that stops me from doing day to day things, i know im a lot luckier than some people but anyway ive been looking for a book that would help with the thought processes and maybe help overall. Unfortunately this was not the book for me, im not a christian in fact quite the opposite so whereas this might help a lot of people and im really glad for them it really didnt help me. My own fault really as i should have done a lot more research before requesting this title. I hope this book continues to do good and helps people.

This book has hit me right in the heart. Everything from the times she felt insecure in God, and wondering if God was even real, to having friends that pulled her out of that pit by praying to learning how to battle in prayer and have a relationship with God...all of it was so, so good.
If you're struggling with your relationship with God, or have questions, or feel like you are on shaky ground, or unworthy of God's love....read this book.
Jennie Allen touches all the points that will change your life and perspective...literally helping you get out of your head and into the heart of God.

Jennie Allen hits it out of the park, again, in this incredible book. It aligns with her recent podcast show, and it is chock full of Truth and love. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review this!

I've read all of Jennie Allen's books and loved them. This book is another one that will be added to my collection. If you or someone you know has negative thoughts that hold you captive, get this book!. It's a book you will refer back to often. I hope she does a study guide to go with it to help me dig deeper. Thank you WaterBrook & Multnomah via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Full acknowledgement that I own all of Jennie Allen's previous books, Anything, Restless, and Nothing to Prove, as well as the Proven study guide (though I have not quite gotten around to doing it...) so I'm familiar with her work and writing style. This book read similarly to the others though it felt even more personal and less full of teachable moments to me. It was harder for me to connect it to my life right now. If someone is a big fan of IF Gathering, or her other books, I'm sure this will be a good addition to their collection and I can see it as something I will go back to as well. I'm wondering if there will be a related study guide to go along with it like she has done with the previous books! I can see that being beneficial.

Eh. There's lots of books about anxiety out there and I don't know if I need a religious theory on it as well. Just personally not my cup of tea.
