It felt somewhat unessesary with all the drama that happend with the two main characters.
And it somwhat felt very insta-lovey? I don`t know. I enjoyed some, but some were boring and meh.
This book was everything! I fell head over hills with Bodhi and Coco’s story! I’m a huge instalove fan and this checked all my boxes! I really love alpha males but every once in awhile I love the strong silent types. I would definitely read more from this author!
I enjoyed this book. This is my first HL read. Bodhi and Coco are so sweet together. A quick easy read, sort of instalove, but with alot of depth. These two are so great together. They are just so sweet and I loved the suspense thrown in. This is my first from this author and not my last.
Oh my heart!!! Bodhi won me over from the first chapter. My heart absolutely shattered for his sad demeanor and gut wrenching reality. I just wanted to hug him tightly. I loved his simple yet effective ways of gaining Coco's attention without her knowing it. I adored his protectiveness over her and his willingness to put himself in harm's way to make sure she was always safe. It was never creepy or overbearing. He was legitimately a good human and just wanted to see a sad girl smile.
As the story progressed, I became more and more enamored with the couple and their happiness. I loved that Coco took the time to get to know Bodhi and break down his walls of insecurity, apprehension and sadness. The fact that he was able to bring her a sense of safety made it so easy to love him as a character.
The drama and suspense in the story really kept me guessing. It was chaotic and messy. I wasn't sure how it'd all end but I loved the route the author took with this book. Bodhi was able to shine as the true hero and save the girl. Coco was given the chance to turn the tables and watch over him when he needed protection and ensured he was cared for. Their partnership was so darn sweet!
The epilogue and bonus scene was so heartwarming. I really loved how Bodhi was able to follow his passion, with the right support system and encouragement. He was going to make a difference in the world, just as Coco had done for him. This read just left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
I always enjoy trying out a new to me author. Harlow Layne did a great job with Secret Admirer. After reading this, I would like to read something else from her.
Her love could set me free from the shadows...
Seeing Coco Becket for the first time, made my heart start beating again. It changed everything.
Before her I had no purpose, no reason to live.
She was the most beautiful woman I had ever met, I couldn't help but fantasize about kissing her plump lips or having those sky blue eyes staring back at mine, seeing beyond what I truly was. Broken and ashamed.
My desire for her ran deep, deeper than I expected it too. She was a Goddess and I was simply caught up in her glow, I couldn't say no. Not to her kindness, and not to my need to be near her.
Coco was the good in life where I was the bad. She became the sun to my never ending darkness.
When a mysterious situation brings us together, I discover that I'll do anything to keep her safe. Even if it means risking my own life, to save hers.
Because before her, love was just a word I'd heard in passing…and now I'll destroy anyone that tries to take her, or that love away from me.
Quick and easy read with nice writing style. Loved it.
A sweet and sexy read drizzled with a bit of mystery.
Loved the connection that the characters had. Bodhi was super sweet and huge heart, and one you immediately fall in love with.
This was a sad story of redemption of finally getting a chance at something better. we have Bodhi that is living on the street that part broke my heart, but when he sees Coco crying he wants to make her feel better, and these two start a friendship and love affair you would have never thought of..
Coco is grieving over her parents death and trying to put her ex boyfriend in the past. She meets Bodhi, a homeless young man who has had it really rough at her work place. The two have chemistry and it's instantly noticeable. Bodhi feels he isn't good enough for Coco but wants to make her happy after seeing her crying outside of her work place. Bodhi is such a swoon worthy guy, loved him. Will he be able to keep Coco out of danger? Will they both be able to have a relationship? A feel good read that I enjoyed to the last page.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS
This was such a sweet story with the right amount of suspense! Harlow Layne did an amazing job of writing Bodhi's character and revealing the struggles that he carries physically and emotionally on a daily basis. Despite having to grieve her parents death, Coco is such a sweet and down to earth person that she offers to help out the homeless man she comes across. Their story was so captivating and oh so sweet how they end up saving each other in ways they never expected!
"You deserve for someone to treat you the way you should have always been treated. You're the one that deserves better, but I'd be honored if you chose for me to be that person."
Harlow Layne is a new to me author and I can easily say I'm a new fan! This book was an EPIC read and I highly recommend picking up this book! Secret Admirer by Harlow Layne will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I loved it.
This was such a sweet story of Bodhi and Coco they both have had there own struggles in life. Bodhi is a homeless man that was just wondering the street until one day he see’s Coco crying at work. Coco’s having to deal with her parents death and recovering from a bad breakup.
You wouldn’t think that their paths would cross but when they do something magical happens. Their story had me wanting more. I was truly captivated by them.
Bodhi is swoon worthy guy I would love to a Bodhi in my life. He is protective, sweet, caring. Coco is lucky to have found a guy like him.
So I liked this book I didn’t love it felt the beginning was slow but I did enjoy it towards the end Thankyou to netgalley for the arc.
This is my first book by Harlow Layne, and I really enjoyed it. It’s a quick and easy read, it’s mysterious - which stopped me from taking a break in reading it lol.
Coco recovers from bad heartbreak - her parents recently died and she separated from her boyfriend.
Bodhi is a homeless young man, who wanders the street by day, and sees Coco crying at work. Fascinated from this young woman, he decides he wants to make her happy.
Circumstances draws these 2 close together. Can Bodhi be the man Coco needs? Self doubt is a bit influenced in Bodhi.
I really enjoyed the book. It was a good story, easy to read. Nice writing style. I can totally see myself reading more from this author!
I kindly received an arc for an honest review
How can one move on with her life after so many heartbreaking moments? After losing her parents, after ending a relationship with her boyfriend that cheated on her, Coco is trying to get on with her life but a chance encounter will change her life forever as she has a secret admirer. It might sound creepy but you have to read the book to understand everything and I can’t recommend it enough for a fast paced story, with some great characters. It might have small triggers for some but I don’t consider them that big.
Super sweet characters can totally make a story!!
Harlow Layne is a new author to me and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of Secret Admirer. I adore insta-love stories and the bond that Coco and Bodhi shared made for a really great read. Bodhi was one of those characters you immediately took a liking to and you rooted for him. He had the qualities that everyone loves. Coco, on the other hand, took a little longer for me to connect with. But together, I loved the emotional connection that they had.
Though the story seemed to be written for much older characters, I just kind of pretended Coco and Bohdi were older even though they weren't because I loved them together. The mixture of a little suspense gave the story depth and I really liked that part. It's what set the story apart from others that are similar.
Secret Admirer, overall, was a sweet story but the characters totally made me connect with it. It was just one of those feel-good reads that put a happy smile on your face at the end.
Harlow Layne is a great writer and I'm happy to see she has a few more stories that I can go back and read.
What a great mix of romance and suspense, this book will have you hooked from the start and unable to put it down. The story was so cute and you are rooting for both of them throughout the story. Looking forward to future books now by the author
“Secret Admirer was a marvelous story! The perfect mix of love and suspense. Harlow did an amazing job, her writing skills are beyond amazing. Bodhi carried some physical and emotional struggles, his story was complicated but that make him an extremely interesting man. He was a one of a kind man. Coco was the definition of sweet and down to earth girl. Their story was so cute, sweet and lovely. Their connection was so captivating and I loved how they ended up saving each other in a unique way. This was my first book of Harlow and surely it won’t be the last.”
SECRET ADMIRER by Harlow Layne is the story of Bodhi and Coco.
Coco just lost her parents and she is having a hard time dealing with them being gone and feeling alone. Bodhi is down on his luck at this time but he happens to see Coco crying. Something about her touches his heart. Bodhi tries to brighten her day by doing little things.
This was a sweet story of two people that needed each other so much and how they found themselves.
Enjoyed their story.
5 BODHI AND COCO STARS!! What a sweet sexy refreshing story. Bobbi and Coco will touch every part of your heart. These two find each in an unexpected way and they have a story to tell you. Their story has all the feels with some mystery and sexiness. This is my first book by this author and I can't wait to read more.
Secret Admirer was a wonderful introduction to Harlow Layne’s writing. As a first-time reader of this author, I was impressed with not only the heartbreaking, yet endearing storyline, but the genuine nature of the character portrayals and the development of the relationship between Bodhi and Coco. This is definitely a book that will require some tissues, and a quiet uninterrupted space to absorb the deeply emotional plot and the heartfelt moments that are constantly outlined throughout the story. I’m happy to recommend this book to other readers and look forward to reading more of MS Layne’s work.
