This was the first of Claire McGowan's that I had read, and I absolutely loved it. Now I'm currently reading one of her other books, The Push, and it is of the same high caliber—unputdownable. The Other Wife unravels the story of three woman, whose stories at first may seen unrelated, but weave together as one gets further into the text. The novel had many twists and turns and was incredibly addictive. The short chapters that alternate narration between the women kept me hooked. I look forward to reading more of author Claire McGowan's work in the future.

I enjoy this author and this book is another good one. Twists and turns galore, a little predictable because this style of narration and storyline is very popular right now. Well worth a couple hours of reading time but not something I will spend time thinking about.

I’m now a new fan of this author. This book was so good. It really kept me guessing. I liked that each chapter switched back and forth between characters.

As I lover of thrillers, I've read many of Claire McGowans books and loved every one of them.
Going into this book, it quickly pulled me in by the first page and from then on getting to know each one of the characters I was quite invested.
This book is very atmospheric which I loved! I loved the whole aspect of a little cottage in a small village where you can't really keep anything secret.
Once the plot slowly started to unravel I honestly couldn't read it fast enough.
great enjoyable read, especially for this time of year.

I had looked forward to this because I enjoyed this author's other books. This one had the domestic drama and suspense, but it was just a bit slow for me. It was told from several different characters perspectives and I knew right away how they were all going to be related. Each character had faults, but the main character was annoying and inconsistent to me. There were plenty of twists and turns, but they didn't keep my excitement going for the book. It was a good book, but not a great book for me. Many other people loved this book, so it might have just not been the book for me.

Finally, a great page-turning thriller! It took me a second to get familiar with the characters as the point of view would change with each chapter, but I quickly connected to the characters and became invested. I was really rooting for Suzi to be a strong woman and stand up for herself.

3.35/5 ⭐

This is somehow a classic thriller, with the element of surprise well-put there and twists and turns in the plot. I did appreciate the whole book, even though it was a bit predictable very early in the action.
There are all sorts of schemes going on, the characters manifest their fair share of problems that they tried to solve in a wrong way that led them to even complicated matters.
The book was enjoyable and I definitely recommend it to people who love readable thrillers.

It started to become an internal joke to me that this book should an alternative title relating to the toxicity that almost all the characters and their relationships were. The book is actually really good because of this, the author gives us a bunch of people that can be considered, in some aspects, the scum of the society, we have cheaters, abusive partners, liars, blackmailers, etc. My biggest problem with this book is that it had too many plots twists, which made the book dull in some parts. The book is narrated in 1st person by a different character, being they all women with their different points of view and perspective in the story. The writing was the best part of the book and it made even the dullest parts barebow. The only thing I can really say about the end with not giving any spoiler is that it was really satisfying.

I really enjoyed this ebook from Netgalley.
A pregnant woman who may be living next door to the father of the child's wife...
A widow who seeks revenge on her dead husbands lover...
A controlling husband, trying to make his wife think she's going mad...
A good read, I highly recommend!

Great concept and plot with some great writing with some really unlikeable characters which makes the book so entertaining. Along with the twists and turns and some sinister moments it was a good book. I saw some similarities to books which was a little off putting but I do believe many would enjoy this nevertheless. Thank you!!

While I thought the plot was a good idea, I just could not get into the story. I think that the author's writing style was just not for me.

I saw this book being advertised everywhere and it sounded like it would be right up my street. And so it was... A fast-paced unputdownable thriller. The story was told primarily from three main characters and, just as any thriller should, it had short chapters alternating between various timepoints. There were a lot of twists and turns in the story and the storyline moved at a perfect pace. Loved it!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Other Wife is an intriguing story of different women and the unexpected connection between them. It is hard to describe due to not wanting to give out spoilers.
I didn't like this quite as much as I had hoped but it was an enjoyable.

I apologise most sincerely for not reviewing this book when I read it on the 5th April this was due to the fact I forgot I had an ARC.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Claire McGowan and Amazon Publishing Uk for an eARC. My views are my own.

Love thrillers? Then this is the book for you! You will be kept on the edge of your seat as you read. This book is hard to put down and gave me the same feeling of confusion as The Silent Oatient and The Wives. Highly recommend this book.

A wonderful thriller which is easy to read and hard to put down. Not at all what I expected throughout! Why two wives? Who is responsible for his death? A twisted and delicious thriller from start to finish! Highly recommended!

I found this book very thought provoking. How can one many do so much damage. His tentacles spread far and wide causing the women he met to look deep into themselves and take responsibility for there own lives. Well written and absorbing, thank you for allowing me to read this arc copy.
