Vegan plus paleo equals pegan. The recipes are yummy and healthful, but I'm not sure whether "pegan" is a widely-used word or not -- so be prepared to explain it to others if they don't know what kind of food you are talking about.

This really is a book for beginners - people who are just starting to adopt a plant based diet but can't completely go vegan or give up carbs. The recipes are good, but not unique. If you have a person in your life that you are trying to ease into a healthier lifestyle, this would be a great book for them.

I have been vegetarian for nearly 10 years now and honestly this on is so interesting and such a fascinating book that allows you to explore two dietary choices that have been seen as mutually exclusive for the past few years. When I worked in an office I had a friend who was doing Keto and absolutely loved it! It worked so well for her and she was able to loose weight and she felt healthier. As a carbolic myself, it is proving more difficult for me, but I also feel as though it does change my outlook.

I also loved that there was so much actual information at the beginning of the book. The author explains where the word 'pegan' comes from and her connection with it. The recipes in this book are also quite yummy, though some aren't vegan which did confuse me a touch. But I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the diet.

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who knew anything about nutrition. First of all, I see what they're trying to do, but vegan + paleo.....you can't have your cake and eat it, too. Let's just call this what it is - a whole foods diet. Eat real food. Mostly plants. Not too much. (~Michael Collins)
