*Master of You* by Cate Stillman offers a comprehensive guide for anyone looking to bridge the gap between their potential and everyday life. The premise is intriguing, focusing on how to align every aspect of our lives with the principles of Ayurveda through the five elements.
While I found some parts of the book enjoyable and filled with valuable insights, I also felt it was a bit more technical than I anticipated, which made it less accessible at times. It reads like a handbook for self-improvement, offering a variety of practices and strategies to enhance both mental and physical well-being. However, I found the writing to be somewhat dull and long-winded; it felt like it could have been more concise.
Overall, while *Master of You* has its strengths and can be informative and encouraging, I think it might benefit from a clearer, more straightforward approach. Personally, I wouldn't consider purchasing it, but it may still resonate with those seeking a deeper dive into personal growth through Ayurveda.
The author offers us a system to reconnect with our nature and wisdom, in that way we harmonize and empower, based on ancestral wisdom of Ayurveda. West are currently taking up a lot of the wisdom of the original peoples of the world, looking for integrative alternatives and this book is part of it.
An interesting and significant contribution of the book is the proposal to make statements about "Desires" around the elements, which translate into the place that I inhabit, my body and habits, my projects and goals, your rhythm and cycles, vision and personal values , etc. It is from my opinion that only when you are clear about what you want to experience in your life, who you want to become or be, and you land it (on paper), you can take the actions that lead you to happen to you. No one can give you a formula, since you are a unique person, so this book may give you a different perspective for you to develop it for yourself.
This is Cate Stillman's second book on how to incorporate the principles of an Ayurvedic lifestyle into modern life. Some of it may seem extreme compared to the average American lifestyle, but she is sharing wisdom that is thousands of years old and is extremely effective if practiced. Recommended for those interested in an Ayurvedic lifestyle.
This is a sort of handbook on how to improve yourself and feelings. I felt like it was dull and long winded. It was too wordy for what it is. I would not purchase this book.
An enjoyable read that is both informative and encouraging. The book is a bit technical so was not as accessible as I was expecting. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for an ARC egalley.
Master of You is full of information and advice. The authors have clearly done their research and have written a good book.
This book is very interesting and has some solid advice for meditation, yoga and self reflection to balance your inner voice. I am glad I picked this one it had techniques that work for me and the book is well written. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.
An interesting read about Eastern Philosophies. I enjoyed it and think that I will try and implement some of these into my life.
If you want to know about the philosophy of yoga, this is the book for you. This is an entire course on personal transformation, based on the ancient wisdom of yoga. The author goes through the terminology of all the concepts and how they apply to living a balanced life. It's a fairly long and involved book, and the author provides much wisdom and tools for self improvement.
This is an extensive in depth book based on Eastern philosophies. It covers a wide range of areas even your home and living environment. Some parts I thought were excellent but others I thought were a bit too much. If you follow all the exercises and advice it would be very time consuming so its probably best to work on the sections that appeal to you. The author has put a lot of work and knowledge into this book and it is very well written. Definitely a quality book.
This book was received as an ARC from Sounds True in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
We are always on the lookout for more self-help books and this one in particular is exactly what we were looking for. Confidence is something that we all struggle with and the approach Cate Stillman takes with this book is just pure genius. Realizes that you are capable of more than you think is such a powerful thing but it is up to you to make that discovery and determine your capabilities and gifts and use them to help you live your best life.
We will consider adding this book to our self-help collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
This is a very detailed book to help a reader improve each area of their life. This is going to follow more of an Eastern approach to problems. The book is well researched and laid out with very specific directives to the reader. If you follow the guidelines, you will dig deep into yourself and change your life!
