Cute! More of a vacation read though, as I didn't feel overly invested and the voice occasionally grated on my nerves.

Classic charming romance! If you want to curl up with a good book and just forget the world exists this is it, it reminded me of a fluffy romance movie but in book form! I would say that maybe it was too nice, a little plot twist here or there would have made it even better!!

I read this in one sitting and had to stay up late to finish. It was a quick read that kept me engaged enough to read it straight through. Really enjoyed!

Just an okay read. Hard to follow

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

This really wasn't anything special. The story line and characters seemed to borrow elements from other romance books, which was irritating.

The best word to describe this book is nice. The story was nice, the main characters were nice, but I wanted more. More drama, more romance, more something. I liked Beverly and Gavin., they're cute together and both have overcome a lot. There were a lot of chances for drama and things to happen, like Gavin's psycho ex girlfriend and Beverly's past, but nothing really came of them. The ending does leave an opening for a sequel that seems like it will have more action. This was a sweet story, just a little bland.

Beverly is a runner. Until she isn't anymore. She makes a new life for herself in the sports modeling world and tries to forget the past. When she meets a man who doesn't know anything about her, she has to decide if she wants to try to have a relationship. I really liked this story and the characters were well-written. I like a sports romance and this was very close to that, but with a management twist. It was a little angsty, but I liked it and would read more by this author.

Chasing Beverly by Ashlynn Cubbison is a slow burn love story that I enjoyed. Beverly Morgan is a damaged women, who has given up on love, and puts everything into her work. Gavin is a business man, who is intrigued by Beverly. The only thing I did not like about this book, is that it ends with a cliff hanger. I am now hooked and will be reading the next book as soon as I can. If you don't mind cliff hangers, I recommend this romance.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

This is a sweet and romantic story about a girl who don't think she deserves to neither love or be loved, and how a man manages to coax her out of her shell.
I didn't manage to "engage" in this story, since neither of the two main characters ever did succeed in caching my interest.

The writing felt forced and the dialog was clunky.

the characters had significant backstory but at times seemed like charactatures rather than people.

I also disliked how they kept 'breaking their rules around each other.

A good foundation but needed more work

This was a fun and quick read, it's definitely a YA contemporary with some swoon-worthy romance. However, I felt at times the writing itself felt lackluster and I was left wanting more from the ending. I'm overall not a fan of endings like this, though, so it may have just been an issue connecting to me as a reader. Others may love this book a bit more than I did!

Chasing Beverly by Ashlynn Cubbison is a beautifully written romance. I received this book as part of a book tour. Due to life getting crazy and things not exactly going as planned, I fell behind on my reading and my review postings. I hate that it happened, but I am doing my best to catch up and stay caught up.

This book focuses on the world of Beverly and Gavin. I absolutely loved their story from the very beginning. Beverly’s world was turned upside down after a car accident in her youth that not only shattered her Olympic dreams but also built a very tall and deep wall around her heart. She doesn’t believe in love anymore, doesn’t believe in dreams and only does what she knows how to do – work. As you learn more about Beverly, you can’t help but feel all of her emotions in your heart.

Gavin is a business man. When he first meets Beverly, he is completely awestruck by her, but his appearance and mannerisms leave something to be desired. I love how Gavin’s story unfolds and he becomes a Hero you really want to win. As their story continues to build, you can’t help but want them together.

The beauty of this romance is that it is a slow burn. You can literally feel the sexual tension between them, even if Beverly is doing everything in her power to deny her attraction to him. You can’t wait for them to finally come together because the build up is so natural.

All in all, this book was a beautifully written romance that has you feeling every emotion right alongside the characters. You can feel the connection between the author and the characters she writes as though they are real beings that she is portraying to us. The details throughout the book create scenes that help transport you to where they are.

Definite must read!

It is a nice, fast-paced, interesting and engaging story.
Both the protagonists are pretty strong in their own way and it reflects that author has put in a lot of effort on building these characters well.
I immediately fell in love with aura of perfect and amazing Gavin Reed. He is compassionate, intelligent, smart, focused and humorous. Beverly is strong, independent and a true sports person. Her sportsmanship and professionalism reflects in her personality.
Most of the characters are realistic.
Why I gave only four stars?
1. Writing could have been better.
2. The book ends at a cliffhanger. I am really waiting for the next part to come soon.
3. The book has left me with so many questions. There are so many things that need closure.
a. What about Peyton, Ian-Aubrey relationship and Jenny-Trevor relationship?
b. Gavin Reed’s Past and the reason of domestic violence on him and his mother. For a person with such a difficult childhood and past, what evolved him into such a wonderful human being? What gave him strength?
I am sure all of this will be covered in next part and the wait is quite long.

Thank you Netgalley and Acorn Publication for ARC in exchange of an honest review.

3.25-3.5 Stars

Chasing Beverly by Ashlynn Cubbison is a fun, romantic, and heartwarming story about taking chances, moving on, and learning to love again.

This book didn't completely make my heart melt with all the swoons, but some parts of are wonderfully affecting and entertaining. I really liked the beginning chapter and was quite impressed that I found myself immediately intrigued. I expected plenty of drama and feels, and to be engrossed and really into the storyline. That didn't really happen quite like I thought it would. There are many lighthearted, fun, and touching moments, and I even teared up a bit a few times, but for some reason, I just didn’t feel that enthusiastic about everything. At times, the dialogue felt a bit forced or just kind of awkward, a few things seemed rushed, and some parts just wasn't that exciting. For me, the book just didn't have enough appeal or that irresistible charm to completely pull me into the story.  But, even though this novel isn't spectacular, I still enjoyed most of the story.  I loved the setting and being able to explore Portland, I adored the sweet moments, and I liked the characters enough to care about them.  I also liked that there's a bit of humor, mystery, and a few surprises. All in all, this was a good read perfect for a lazy afternoon or a day at the beach.

I liked the romance and adored Gavin and Beverly as a couple. Gavin is sweet, kind, patient, and caring. I love how Gavin is willing to wait for Beverly and just be there for her. Beverly is guarded and not very trusting. She's hurting in so many ways and I felt so much for her. Like Gavin, I wanted Beverly to realize that she deserves to have true happiness and another chance at love. I liked the way their relationship develops and enjoyed all their cute and emotional moments. I think they're great together and I rooted so hard for them.

Ashlynn Cubbison has written a sweet and fun story about second chances, forgiveness, and love. I may not be over the moon in love with everything in this novel, but I think Chasing Beverly's overall plot is interesting, delightful, and enjoyable. I definitely recommend this book and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review and for participating in a blog tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tours. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I liked the premise of the book and the characters were great. They grew and changed throughout the book which I also appreciate. The writing lost me in the middle though, I was invested enough in the characters to read it through and the ending picked up a bit, but it was overall just ok. 3 Stars.

This was a nice enough story, but it seemed to lack a certain spark, the story felt a bit slow and disjointed at times, it’s a fast read and enjoyable, but not enough that I’m too bothered about reading the next, I’m sure others will enjoy more this but just felt it was bit predictable

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

A cute NA novel with a dash of sweetness and past to make it more intriguing. At the beginning they make us believe the worse had happened and then with time we learn that it isn’t as bad as she makes it sound like and there’s a little bit of hope. But the fact that Beverley keeps making it her mistake is constantly a bit annoying. I get Gavin’s need to keep convincing her that it is not.

My favorite character so far is Ian. He seems to be a lost soul trying his best to help his sister the way he can. Despite struggling on his own he still cares deeply to his sister. It’s nice to see how he’s protective at the same time so attuned to his sister. Also I would love to know about him and Aubrey and how that came about.

The ending is of course a major cliffhanger and we don’t get much about Stalker Peyton, I feel like she’ll make a major appearance in the second book and considering that the first isn’t even released I do not even want to know how long we have to wait for the second book. I hope Ms Cubbison does write fast so we can get the conclusion to this sweet story.
