The gorgeous illustrations on the cover of this poetry book drew me in and so I had to request it.

However I believe it expired in the NetGalley App before I had a chance to open the pages so sadly I was unable to read this book.

Super love this book. Yuu can feel the daw of emotions and how her words love to connection with her readers.

Even as I'm not much for poetry, I'm trying the genre once again, I really enjoyed it! They are all very touching and well written!

I liked a lot of the poems in this collection. The longer poems seemed to drag on but I enjoyed the shorter ones.

I wish this wasn't the case but my phone would not open this file. Which saddens me, I really wanted to read this book, The rose that Blooms in the Night by Allie Mihcelle. I was very excited about it.

I really enjoy poetry books, and this one had the feel of my favorite poetry author, Amanda Lovelace. The poetry and simple illustrations were very relatable and I enjoyed overall.

The Rose That Blooms in the Night by Allie Michelle is a book filled with poems about being independent and finding the strength from deep within yourself, that you didn’t even knew you had, to come out whole on the other side.

This book is about fighting for what you want and who you want to be, and I loved every second of it!

Wonderful poems ! !
Some of poems are so touchy and had flew through veins.
These are beautiful lines :

"That mind of yours that tells you to hide those wings
Because crawling would be safer
Quiet that voice for a moment
Let go of your grip on who you think you’re supposed to be
If you borrowed my eyes you would weep at the sight
of yourself
How much will it take before you remove that blindfold you

This is a collection of modern poems, which talks about empowerment, self love, grief and letting go, personal growth.
I did have a goal for this year to pick up more books from genres I don't typically read and this is my second attempt at modern poetry. While some poems seemed a bit repetitive and kind of preachy at times, others felt like looking into a mirror of my own thoughts and feelings. Altogether a beautiful collection and the illustrations were a very nice detail.

The Rose that Blooms in the Night by Allie Michelle is a collection of powerful, thought provoking poetry. Sprinkled within the collection are some illustrations that didn't take from the poetry within the collection. While some of the poems didn't speak to me personally, they were all rather lovely to read. The collection covered a large range of emotions. Some felt a tough repetitive to me, but they were delivered in such a way that it allowed me to experience the message once more.

Grief will come and steal your breath
It will have its way with you
Until you feel there's nothing left
I promise grief will one day leave
But not until the pain brings you to your knees.

I received an e-arc from net galley for an honest review. I was really enjoying this poetry collection which I got about 42% before my arc expired. What I did read, I read very quickly but I just got distracted by life stuff. I did almost buy the book but due to money issues I couldn't. But I would highly recommend it.

"My potential haunts me
As I feel the ghost of who I could be
But I am tired of fantasizing about my future self
Instead of learning to fall in love with who I am right now
Where is the line between self-improvement and
self-deprecation?"

This was an okay read. The self-worth and self-healing as always is what I focus on the most and there were a lot of that. However, I can't shake the feeling that the poems were repetitive and somewhat messy.

I like how the poems were long compared to other modern poetry and some actually rhymed. The long ones were the ones I enjoyed the most. What I disliked besides the repetitiveness was the few poems about social media. I do agree with what the author means but I found the delivery to be somewhat cringy.

Anyways, here are some of the poems I liked:

"Become the love you wish you had found in him
Why do you look for love
In the person who cannot give it to you?
Emotional unavailability is not something to be drawn to
You have not gone through
The pain and pressure of becoming a diamond
Only to accept someone
Who believes themselves to still be coal."

"Follow what makes you lose track of time
When you do what you love
You will feel eternity stirring within you."

"Every second you spend being anyone but yourself
Is a second you deprive the world of your unique gifts."

"If you want to know how we are treating our world
Look to how we are treating our women."

"I sat with an elder who handed me a string
And told me to tie a knot for every person I have hurt
The first knot I tied was for myself
If that knot did not exist
There would be none after it."

Overall, this was so-so for me. I didn't know how to feel about it since I'd read a poem and like it and then read the next only to feel like I've read a similar one previously. Some of the poems felt more like an advice than poetry in my opinion. It got better closer to the end but it wasn't enough to make it up for me.

this is a beautiful poetry book. i enjoyed all the poems. some of them are kinda cliché and repetitive, but that was not a bad thing.

the topics were about love, lost, self love and feminism. and i would LOVE to have a physical copy.

This is my first reading of a poetry collection and I loved it!

"The Rose That Blooms in the Night" is a collection divided in two sections. The themes covered by the author are about love, self-love, grief, pain and hope.

During the reading, I signed so many sentences that touch my heart and made me thing "oh, it's talking about me". If you're feeling down, you can read some poems and get back your vitality.

The illustrations are beautiful! The simple art style is one of my favorite. This type of style don't take away the spotlight from the poems.

Because of the several poems, I think that some of them were repetitive, but in its entirety I enjoyed this collection.

This author really poured herself into this collection and I really appreciate it!

Beautiful pieces of poetry. Nice lengths whether it is the paragraph poems or the structure one would normally see a poem written. Good topics and nicely written.

'The Rose that Blooms in the Night' is a great poetry book that made me pick up the pen and paper and try writing some poetry of my own. I've read it twice already and will definitely buy a printed copy for my personal library. Each page contains not only words but also emotions which lately it seems so hard to achieve.

I will definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to spend a cold afternoon in front of the fire while reading something light and meaningful.

Although only a small amount of the poems in this collection resonated with me, those that did were truly remarkable. I was so blown away by how deeply they touched my soul that I feel there's nothing else I can do but give this one 5 stars. Beautiful.
