I absolutely loved this book. I read it last weekend and I was just hooked that I couldn't put it down.

I do recommend this and all of Christine Feehan's books.

When Malichai gets hurt on a mission he takes a forced vacation to heal and relax . He ends up at a bed and breakfast where Amaryllis is living helping the owner and hiding out from Dr Whitney. Things don't as he'd hoped. Amaryllis is not a what she seems and weird things keep happening. Top it off his injuries aren't healing right. When things get intense it's time to call in his brothers. I have not read a book in this series in a while. I was worried i wouldn't be able to get into this book but i ended up engrossed from the beginning. I love the way the Ghostwalkers are a family. They always have each others back and easily took in Amaryllis. I was also happy to see the Norton brothers back in this book. Even if only briefly. Their books were some of my favorites of the early books in this series. Malichai and Amaryllis were a great couple. The author brings you right into the story and keeps you guessing.

When Malichai Fortunes suffers an injury, he is strongly encouraged to take a vacation to California to recoup. He does not relax well and finds himself getting friendly with the staff of the B&B he is staying at.

Amaryllis is beautiful, sweet, and seems to also have some special gifts. He is sure she is one of Whitney's experiments, but it is a delicate balance between outing himself or her. But as they spend time together it is obvious that they are drawn together. These books are almost always insta-love, but it has been established that Whitney created bonded pairs so it does not bother me that they form quick attractions and attachments.

And Malichai seems to be having issues healing and the situation is becoming more dire and will require assistance from his brothers. And that means exposing his secrets to Amaryllis and hoping she does not run scared.

And strange things seem to be happening around them. Whispers of murder, attacks, threats, and a possible large scale target. So this Ghostwalker vacation is anything but peaceful and relaxing...it might just be as deadly as any mission.

I was engaged from the start and enjoyed the storyline and the end, but somewhere in the middle, it started to drag and seem somewhat tedious to me and it took me longer to read it. These books are always longer than most usual romance reads and have a lot of detail so it is understandable. There were a lot of antagonists, conspiracies, and events to keep track of leading up to the climax. But I loved Malichai and Amaryllis, and how they were able to explore their new relationship and build trust. And also how his brothers and teammates rallied around him while Malichai was going through a difficult situation. My heart hurt for him and what he was dealing with.

This installment brings suspense, action, mystery, romance, steam, and emotion. This world is so richly crafter and intertwined. This brings back his brothers Ezekiel and Mordichi as well as many of the other Ghostwalkers. I love revisiting all of the unique characters with their special skills. They are such a devoted and accepting group. I hope that we see his brother, Mordichi or his old friend, Rubin get a story next.

Malachai Fortunes, like all his fellow Ghostwalkers, stands for country, citizens, and defends and protects. He never does anything halfway and after undertaking a rescue behind enemy lines finds himself with a serious leg injury. It requires him to sit back, relax, and exercise his leg properly to get back to normal, but rest and relaxation is not in Malachai's nature. Like all Feehan's outstanding characters he soon finds himself falling madly for a young woman working at the San Diego inn where he is staying. The beautiful and competent Amaryllis is obviously one of crazy Whitney's experiments though it takes awhile to find out what her animal capabilities are. Soon due to strange activities, events and characters Malachai must call in his brothers and fellow Ghostwalkers to help defend and protect not just him in his weakened condition but also Amaryllis and her friends. A more serious concern for the Ghostwalkers is an upcoming conference of those who seek answers to world peace. Unfortunately, they are in danger from those who don't. While the Ghostwalkers band together, both husbands and wives, to protect they also watch over Malachai as his injury goes from bad to worse. I marvel at Feehan's description of paranormal psychic healing and surgery as it becomes an important part of the story as Malachai fears the loss of his leg. The 16th book in Feehan's Ghostwalker series is by far one of my favorites not only for its romance, but for the supernatural and paranormal skills and stories of each of her characters. You'll find it a must read!

LETHAL GAME by Christine Feehan is book 16 in the Ghost Walkers Series. This is the story of Malichai and Amaryllis. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book. I will say this author's writing allows for that with her writing but I did feel I would have love to have read the previous character's story line since some where in this book. Malichai has been forced to take a vacation to heal physically and mentally after very bad assignment the Ghost Walkers were on. Never having done a vacation and used to always be on alert he isn't having a good time. Then he meets Amaryllis who works at the place he is staying and he feel an intimidate connection but he knows she is hiding something. Amaryllis is on the run and doesn't usually stay in one place long but she has enjoyed her time at the Inn and has built a friendship, but she knows that Malichai is dangerous but is he what she needs?
With Ms. Feehan books you get the steamy scene, alpha male, strong heroine and story line that keeps you turning pages! Loved this book.

As a Ghostwalker with special abilities, Malachai Fortunes risks his life and limb rescuing wounded troops caught behind enemy lines. He sustains a devastating injury during one such mission so that Malachai is forced to take a vacation to rest and recuperate. Something is very wrong with Malachai’s leg because though super enhanced, his shattered bones are not healing properly. While staying in a San Diego B&B, he is quite intrigued with one of the staff named Amaryllis. This far into the series at book number sixteen, readers know that women with flower names are likely to be one of Dr. Whitney’s protégés or cast offs.

Amaryllis has secrets of her own and though she is equally attracted to Malachai, she has been trying to live under the radar. After leaving Whitney’s brutal regime, she is still learning to use the special abilities including healing which is quite rare. Malachai realizes something is off with some of the other guests as well as recognizing indications of a dire situation from a zealot group wanting to cause major harm.

While trying to figure out if Amaryllis is friend or foe, Malachai becomes increasingly worried about this injury that will not heal. He faces a devastating reality that will require all the special talents of his brothers and extended Ghostwalker family, some of whom show up to help him with both of the fraught circumstances. As usual, they must endure dark and difficult times and deal with their mad scientist creator if only from afar. Both Malachai and Amaryllis have much to overcome in order to be together and stop a deadly group from causing havoc before it is too late. This story has some very high emotions to go along with the tense and difficult choices. Fans of this series will enjoy seeing this stoic and stalwart man finally find the woman who is meant for him.

This was a new, refreshing ghost walker novel. Loved the story and the relationship. Unlike the last one, it felt like it was ready to take Ghostwalkers in a new direction. Loved it!

The next installment of the Ghostwalker series is a roller coaster of a read. This book had me laughing and crying. I enjoyed the interaction between Malichai and Amaryllis as they learn about each other. With a mystery to solve this is a great read.

A solid 3 stars for Christina Feehan’s Lethal Game. It’s the same story of all the other “Ghostwalker series”. Man mets Woman/Girl, instant connection but dance around trying to find out each others secrets. The relationship was sweet. The Man is going through repercussions as a solider/Ghostwlaker and is trying to heal. The Woman/Girl was an abused experiment on the run who feels guilty about those she left behind.

Compounded with that is a terrorist group up to no good and leaving bodies everywhere. I’m not sure how many individual groups were up to no good (but Spoiler Alert: They all ended up dead - so it doesn’t matter.)

The end with our ML was surprising, Feehan always pulls a “miracle”, but I appreciated this ending.

The end of the book did irritate. Why the F are they talking to Whitney? They even say in the book how Whitney experiments on others to get the science for new discoveries. It blows my mind that they would associate with him, when there were solutions without him. I have never understood how Whitney is alive. Rant over.

While I love this series and the main characters this book kind of fell flat for me. There was slot of repetition throughout with what women can and can’t do and several of the scenes felt disjointed to me.

Lethal Game is a fabulous journey of finding unparalleled love and discovering unending courage in the face of both disaster and heaven. This story kept me on my toes and captivated my full attention. I was left in awe and truly loved every part of this marvelous adventure! There was never a dull moment wit this thickly layered and wonderfully complex storyline. My imagination ran wild as I was slowly exposed to the incredible characters and unforgettable story that I discovered along the way. Just when you think you know what is coming, a wicked twist comes along that changes everything and leaves you guessing once again. What a thrilling journey!

Malichai is confident in his place in this world and his life's purpose. Nothing can make his confidence waver. Even when he is confronted with the worst mission outcome possible, his resolve is solidly in place. Amaryllis was the last person that he would have ever expected to stumble across during a forced vacation. She invades his senses and distracts him completely. If he was on a mission, he would be in so much trouble. She isn't sure what to think about Malichai, but what she finds is nothing like she imagined. When trouble moves in and finds them both unaware, they are forced to react and fight back as best as they can. When their two worlds collide with danger and intrigue, they find themselves fighting everything but each other. Will they find a way to hold onto what they have found, or will forces outside of their control rip them apart forever?

Weaving in and out of the story, we come across spectacular characters whose depth and complexity stole the very breath from my lungs. They truly transitioned this story into a fabulously creative masterpiece. Malichai and Amaryllis made sure to steal my heart and soul throughout their fabulous story. They left me in a heap of happy tears and huge smiles. That is the mark of a successful author. One challenge after another marked this story as one of great strength and courage, and I never wanted to see it end. What an incredible world full of beauty, love, and danger that will imprint itself onto your very soul!

Christine Feehan is a truly gifted and stunningly creative author of breathtaking fantasy that will never fail to stir your own creativity and spur on your heart to feel more then it ever imagined possible. I savored every second of this marvelous adventure, and I never wanted it to end. This world stole my heart and left me wanting to learn so much more. I can't wait to read more and dive into this spectacular world where things are never what they seem!

With an author as prolific as Christine Feehan, it's inevitable that occasionally a book will disappoint the reader, which is what happened to the last book I reviewed by this author. This book, however, is so much better! This story grabs the reader from the start, and is unrelenting and fast-paced.

Malichai Fortunes is injured during a rescue attempt, and through sheer grit and determination and at great cost to himself, he not only saves the day, but somehow survives. His leg is very damaged because of the attack, and he is packed off to California to recuperate at a San Diego bed and breakfast, run by Marie and her friend and co-worker, Amaryllis. Malichai is instantly drawn toward Amaryllis, and it doesn't take him long to figure out why: these two were made for each other. Both of these protagonists are formidable in their own right, but together, they are so much fun to watch!

This story is so much richer because of the interplay--between the protagonists, between Malichai and his team, and especially between Malichai, Amaryllis, and his brothers. Insecurities and vulnerabilities are exposed in both protagonists. The suspense ramps up to sustainable and intense levels and does not relent!

This is an incredible book, and it feels like the reader has just ridden a roller coaster at a top-notch amusement park! Along the way, expect murder, mayhem, kidnapping, attacks, and a plot that could kill thousands of innocent civilians. There might be a few bombs involved as well, along with some steel-toed boots and a few super-soldiers.

This book stands on its own, but is part of a larger group of stories based upon a group of GhostWalkers and the struggles they face just trying to survive. The reading experience is more fulfilling if the reader is aware of the backstory for the GhostWalkers, but this story can be read without that background. However, if you do read this book without reading any of the prior novels in the series, you are going to want to read them all!

Feehan's latest GhostWalker novel features Malichai Fortunes. He's on a forced vacation after being injured in combat when he meets Amaryllis. Longtime GhostWalker fans know that Dr. Whitney liked to name his experiments after flowers, so Amaryllis' identity is not a surprise. The mystery the two get involved in, and the guest appearances by other GhostWalkers and their wives, will please fans, but this is not the best book for new readers to jump into.

This is one of my absolute favorites series! I love the jumble of science that could make these paranormal abilities possible with the unique characters. Even so, I'll admit that this is not one of my favorite additions to the series. The recent novels, in my opinion, have been one excellent one after another but this one fell flat a bit for me. I continue to really enjoy Malichai and was glad he finally got a story of his own. The problem with his leg was also really interesting.

Amaryllis' character wasn't that strong in my opinion. If she was so smart to get away from Whitney on her own, helping a few others escape as well, why would be have relocated somewhere and stayed there for over a year? None of the rest of these women have even come close to thinking they can stay in one place for that long. Even Rose, who was pregnant, was only staying somewhere long enough to give birth and then planned to move again. I get that Amaryllis had found people she loved, but what over shadowed her endangering them by exposing them to Whitney and is crazy?

Malichai and Amaryllis had a great connection but their overall romance fell flat for me. It seemed to rushed due to the fact that they stumbled into a conspiracy situation. A conspiracy, that had nothing to do with the Ghostwalkers too. Yes, they would definitely step-in like they did, but it made everything else seem less important and more a plot point to bring back past couples in a combat situation than necessary for the love story here. A good book that was super entertaining but not one I'll come back much.

Malichai is a member of the Ghost Walkers, enhanced soldiers whose DNA was modified to make them more deadly. They have special paranormal powers and abilities due to the horrific experiments done on them by Dr. Whitney. Sent on top secret missions they succeed where others fail. Malichai was gravely wounded on his latest mission and the wounds aren't healing like they should. Sent on a forced vacation to rest he meets Amaryllis, who quickly becomes essential to his well being. Another winner in the Ghost Walker series!

Yeah, there's another amazing book in this series! I just absolutely love this series, it's my favourite from Christine Feehan, because it's the one that introduced me to her writing, and how much action there is! So yeah for this book!

For about the first third of this book, we're in Malichai's perspective. And I noticed because I really wanted to see what Amaryllis was thinking, if she was a GhostWalker and orphan that Whitney used and experimented on or not. It was so satisfying when we did get her perspective!

There were two main things going on in this book. There was all of the strange events that all added up to something bad happening, which is where the title came from. There's also Malichai's leg, which was damaged in the first chapter. And that was an interesting conversation to have, of how that affected his views of himself, his ability to be a protector, the cost it has being a solider.

We did get some mentions of a few new ladies, who may or may not be leading ladies in future books! We didn't meet them (unless they were introduced without being introduced, you know) but I hope that they're in future books, because they deserve happiness after everything they've been through with Whitney!

Loved reading this book, it was so wonderful, and I can't wait to see where this series goes next!

As always Christine Feehan has done an amazing job with this new book in the Ghost Walkers series. Lethal Game is an amazing story of love, strength, and survival. Malichai and Amaryllis have had very rough lives and the experiments that were conducted on them have marked their lives, but both Malichai and Amaryllis are so sweet and I love seeing how they fall in love, their story is sweet and exciting and I can't wait for the next book in the Ghost Walker series!

This is a Ghostwalker series book. It is Malachi and Amaryllis's story.
Malachi is severely wounded during a rescue mission and is sent on a vacation to rest and finish healing. At the inn he stays at he meets Amaryllis.
While he is there a terrorist plot is uncovered and he jumps into action.
However his wounds are much more serious than originally thought.
I started out purposely making myself read this book much slower than I usually read a Christine Feehan book because I wanted it to last, to savor the story because then I'd have a long wait until her next book. It didn't last long.
This is a fast moving, gripping installment of the series.
Be prepared to cry sad tears with this one... I did. You have to read the book to find out why......
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me this copy... It was fantastic.

Christine Feehan’s latest delivers her classic thrilling plot, dynamic interesting characters and super hot sexiness. Malichai has been sent to San Diego for rehabilitation after being shot up rescuing troops in overseas. He meets Amaryllis at the B & B, another woman who has escaped Whitney’s experiments. They have to call in other teams to help stop a faction of the White House from blowing up a peace conference. All the while Malichai’s injury won’t heal and he and Amaryllis are falling in love.
I would recommend this book to my patrons as a standalone or art of the series.
