I really enjoyed this book
The book was well laid out, it was nice and had some lovely illustrations
It was well written, the story was easy to follow and it had a wonderful flow to the story
It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!
A really simple and brightly illustrated book for toddlers about a day in the snow. Living in a place where this is actually relevant was great. My toddler could truly relate to a lot of the activities as well as the outfit. It has great illustrations and kept him entertained.
This is a cute book for toddlers. My little one is obsessed with cats, so naturally he's a fan of Sammy.
I received a copy of this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. This book is about a cat playing in the snow with his toy horse. Excellent book for toddlers.
Thank you NetGalley for letting review this book for my honest opinion. It's a cute story about a cat and his toy horse enjoying the snow. The illustrations and story are age appropriate for toddlers.
Cute characters that children will. Fun dialogue, and good illustrations. Half pages easier to see in a board book.
This is a cute story of Sammy and all of his outdoor winter activities. It's perfect for young children and very relatable. It wad mentioned that the pages will fold, which wasn't visable through the digital ARC, but it would be a great feature for the book!
Short and sweet story of a kid cat and his pet stuffed horse enjoying a day of winter fun. They enjoyed skiing, skating and snowman building. All the typical winter activities that kids will recognize.

This is a wonderful little Sammy book for young children. Children love going outside to play in the snow, and this book highlights the joy. The illustrations are very colorful and wonderful. Recommended!
We have now made it to fall. so winter will not be too far behind. If a young child you know would enjoy thinking about winter fun, share this book with them. In it cat, Sammy, and friend, Hob, enjoy a variety of winter activities. They skate, build a snowman and more. The story is simple, the illustrations bright and cheerful. All in all, a nice seasonal story.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Note: A book with half pages that hide and reveal how Sammy and his little horse Hob enjoy winter. For toddlers ages 30 months and up, with a focus on the child’s world.
I could not tell this from my digital copy of the book.
Sammy and his toy horse Hob have all sorts of fun together, but most of all they love going out when it’s snow time, where they get to play even more. A fun and exciting little book encouraging kids to go outdoors play and have fun, and not stay cooped up inside on their tablets or tv.
Cute book. I love that it's about a snow day but something about the writing felt a little too robotic and rigid.
A cute story about Sammy and his toy horse, Hob, having fun in the snow.
No big new ideas introduced in this book, just cheery illustrations and classic snowy day activities. I really loved the part where Sammy kisses Hob's snout, it was so adorable and just a sweet little touch.

I love the Sammy books! This one has Sammy exploring the winter with sledding, skating and other fun winter activities small children enjoy. The illustrations are sweet, bold and simple. Lovely series!
Sammy in the Winter is a simple picture book aimed at toddlers. It's one of those books that's really only enjoyable for its target audience.
One day, it snows. So Sammy gets dressed up in his warm clothes, takes his toy horse, and goes outside to play. He sleds, skates, skis, and builds a snowman. I read an e-book version, but I think the idea is that each spread has a little flap that flips forward and back, revealing different scenes. It works fairly well... although I'm not sure why the window in the first spread moves across the page between the two scenes!
It's a decent depiction of a young child's day in the snow. It's nothing special, but it will probably keep toddlers entertained for a few minutes.
Cute pictures with short sentences . Perfect for little kids with short attention span. I read this book to my 4 year old daughter , 2 year old granddaughter and my 1 year old granddaughter. My 4 year old did ask where were the adults and other kids were in the book and why Sammy was all alone on the pond . Thank you NetGalley and The publisher for the chance to read this ARC to my girls in exchange for an honest review.
I love the bright colored pictures! I can picture my toddler really enjoying this one. However, I do find some of the writing awkward. For example, when Sammy falls down on the ice, it says "Luckily Sammy can laugh about it." - I get that it's trying to tell them it's okay but i don't know if I would insert humor into a situation like that.
Thank you to netgalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was such a cute story! I enjoyed getting a glimpse into Sammy's Winter Wonderland. The illustrations pop and make all the winter activities stand out. I think kids of all ages will enjoy the cheerful story about fun in the winter.

Sammy in the Winter is adorable. The pictures are colorful and fun. The text flows well and is just the right length for reading to little ones. Sammy finds great ways to solve his problems that he comes upon in the story and keeps a great attitude
A kid plays in the snow, the end. Actually, there is a lot more to this – I think I got the gist, as it's not perfectly obvious on a digital copy, but the book contains half-pages, so you don't just get a wide spread, you turn half of it over and see the before-and-after, before flipping to a fully new spread, etc. So our hero clambers up the hill over some sleepy foxes in their snow-cave in the 'before', then toboggan past an emerging fox in the 'after'. Everything the boy and his toy horse do fits a raging stereotype, yet perversely a lot of that stereotype will not travel – since when will the average city child get to skate alone over a frozen pond? Basic, but enjoyable – and I hope the book works in real life as I supposed. Three and a half stars.
