This was a real edge of your seat thriller, with so many twists and turns, you wont know which way is up! Fantastic and gripping read! I love love these Lottie Parker books.
Thrilling plot which I could not put down. Brilliant characters, and twists and turns. Highly recommend to other fans of this genre!!
Another just ok book. I feel like this series is slowly going down hill. I loved the first few books but the longer it drags out the more I am not liking them.
This is book 7 in the series which can be read as a stand alone.
My main criticism of this book is that it is told from multiple POV and can get confusing
The story was entertaining and kept my interest
Another fantastic installment in the Lottie Parker series. Full of tension and twists in a really interesting case. Can't wait for the next case!
My first Lottie Parker book and I believe I may have appreciated the background story more if I had a better understanding of the characters.
This tale though has plenty of twists to keep the reader guessing and I finished it in two days. Not a usual occurrence for me.
I have read all of the Lottie Parker books and I am permanently hooked!!! The books are so well written, that you can't even guess who the baddie is until the very end, and then everything makes sense from beginning to end. This book, and the series are highly recommended!

Broken Souls is the seventh book in the DI Lottie Parker series. Unfortunately, I have not read the previous books, which put me at a disadvantage. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and I will now go back and read the rest. Recommended
I love Detective Lottie Parker books and was delighted to receive a copy of the newest book in the series. Broken Souls did not disappoint in the slighest. The newest plot focuses on the murder of two young brides and the abduction of a young child. I loved this book and read it over the course of one day!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this ArC
I thought that this was another well written book in the DI Lottie Parker series – this is a go to series for me as I know the author always writes a good story and one that I know will keep me hooked right from the start though to the brilliant endings she has – I can’t believe we are already at book 7 in the series!
This book has quite a few darker undertones and I really enjoyed them, it is quite a darker case for Lottie and her team to investigate. I thought that the characters were well developed as normal and they worked brilliantly together too. The writing style is top notch as normal and the pace was spot on, it crept along where it needed to build up the suspense and then raced towards the ending!
It is 5 stars from me for this one, I thought it was another excellent book in the series and it really is going from strength to strength and cannot wait to see what she releases next – very highly recommended!!
This series is filled with fantastic stories. I absolutely love Patricia Gibney's mysteries and the characters that are in them. Broken Souls was complex and unputdownable. I can often solve mysteries ahead of time and although I suspected I was never 100% sure which made it that much better. There was a lot happening in this book and I found myself anxiously awaiting what was happening with Boyd throughout the story. I am so interested to see how that part of it plays out in the next book. I hope this series goes on forever because I love it!
Gibney always keeps me speculating and guessing until the end! Another fabulous addition to the DI Lottie Parker series! If you love psychological thrillers as much as I do, love when an author keeps you on the edge of your seat guessing and haven't' read this ENTIRE series, yet, you REALLY should!
This book can be read as a standalone, but it makes much better sense if you read it as part of the series order.

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
Lottie Parker is back and very welcome she is. Really though we have to feel bad for the woman. She should have a relatively cushy job in Ragmullen. I mean for goodness sake, it's a small Irish town, surely the murder rate can't be that high? Well you'd think but this book is barely into its stride before two women are dead. I'm seriously thinking perhaps Jessica Fletcher has a holiday home there....what a crossover that would be! Anyway two women dead, both in wedding dresses. At first they appear to be suicides but Lottie knows something doesn't add up. And then as if things couldn't get worse they realise one of the victims was due to pick up her 8 year old daughter....but no one knows where she is now.
Mystery, danger, plot twists....they're all here. This series rarely disappoints. It's an improvement on the last book which, by no means bad, didn't quite live up to the rest. There's some nice character development and thankfully Lotties family are not in mortal danger for a change, although shes still a bit hazy about what's happening with them! All in all another great Gibney read.
This is the seventh book in the fantastic series featuring Detective Lottie Parker. There is always a lot going on in Lottie’s life. She is a widow struggling to bring up three teenage children and hold down a very intense and time consuming job, which her children resent at times. The story begins with the body of a young woman being found hanging in her flat and wearing a wedding dress. It looks like suicide but Lottie is not convinced. A few days later another body turns up, dressed also in a wedding dress and she also appears to have committed suicide by throwing herself off a roof. Lottie is convinced that neither of them are suicide victims and their deaths are somehow connected. Lottie is delivered another blow when she discovers that the eight year old daughter of the second victim appears to have been abducted. She then has a race against time to discover who is responsible for the two deaths and also to find the young girl alive. There are so many suspicions and red herrings along the way, mysteries and secrets to be revealed and a jaw dropping ending! I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Do not miss reading this series, it is well worth the five stars.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
Broken Souls is the seventh in the series and the first I have read. This is a fantastic thriller that has some good twists and turns.I have to go back and read the other books.
3.5 rounded up
This is the 7th in the series and I had not read the prior books. While this carried well enough on its own much was written about Lottie’s past tragedies. I had mixed feelings about her. I get the headstrong detective cliche but sometimes when they just are stupid it can be frustrating. There were a fair amount of twists and turns in the book and while you may suspect the author does point the finger everywhere.
An enjoyable read. Number 7 in the series and none of the novels have disappointed. The team are such credible, likeable characters. Lottie as ever is struggling with her drink problem and love-life. All is not well in paradise. Can Boyd and Lottie sort out their issues? It never fails to astonish me what pathologists can evaluate from a corpse and establish further facts with DNA. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an enthralling read.
I really liked this, I haven’t tried any others in the series so my next task is finding them and starting from the beginning. Highly recommend.
From my blog: Always With a Book:
This is the 7th book in Patricia Gibney's Detective Lottie Parker series and I think it might have been the strongest book in the series yet. As much as I adore this series, I feel the character development has taken a bit of a back seat, but not here...it definitely moves forward in this latest installment and I loved it!
As is usually the case, this book starts fast and furious, which makes it such an addicting read. And one of my favorite aspects is that we hear from the murderer, though we aren't quite privy to their identity until later on...but still, I always love when author's give us this inside look into a killer's mind - it makes the story just the little bit more chilling. There are many suspects to the case that the team is working on and I admit I had no clue who was the guilty party...so many of the characters we meet were despicable and really could have been the "bad" guy that I had a hard time deciding who really did it.
I've always been a fan of DI Lottie Parker - she's strong and has a lot on her plate in her personal life, and I liked that she really kept it together here. A lot of things were thrown at here in this book that would have had the old Lottie running for booze or pills but she kept a clear head for the most part and worked her way through it. I will say that I wasn't happy with one particular development but I am curious to see how it plays out in the next book...
I love the Lottie Parker books and this was a really good one! A gripping storyline and believable characters. I would thoroughly recommend this book. Thank you Patricia Gibney, Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book and give my honest opinion.
