A few funny moments but is stalled a bit and was a little over the top, I skimmed the last few chapters.

This one kind of blew me away with all the revelations. I can't imagine the feelings going through me with what Lola found. Drew, the gruff, tough sheriff, knowing what Lola's deceased husband had done, didn't want her hurt any more than she was.
When you live in a small town you get what the town thinks is best for you, especially when it involves the widow's club. And that's a whole other weird lol.
This was a cute small town romance. A lot going on, touching on all the emotions. I do wish it would've saved some of the events for another time, and had a bit more alone time with the actual romance. Still a good read that made me laugh or frustrated me lol
A happily ever after thank goodness. This one will push your buttons!

Can't Hurry Love is a heartwarming story with endearing characters. Drew is the sheriff in Sunshine and is constantly busy with everything that his job entails. Lola comes to town to start over and mend her broken heart. Drew doesn't have any time to spare but, when Lola asks for his help he can't turn her down. This is an amazing read with so many endearing characters and I can't wait to read all of their stories. If you visit this wonderful town and all of its quirky, endearing characters you won't want to leave.

I cannot wait to read more of this series. Great start-funny but sad at times and totally enjoyable.

Can’t Hurry Love is the first in a new series set in Sunshine Valley, CO and I’m in love with the outrageous, quirky residents of this sweet little town. Some of the residents take the word meddling to a whole new level and there were lots of funny moments. The romance was more sweet and flirtatious than steamy and there’s lots of drama throughout the book which I loved! Throw in a hot single dad and I’m sold, I’ll definitely be reading the next book in this cute series

This is the perfect mix of loss, happiness, secrets, finding what really makes you happy and a group of great busybodies called the Widows Club. I totally get where Lola is coming from especially with all the secrets that start to come out after she decides to find out who her husband had been with, although she does get herself into some awkward situations that make you want to laugh and cry.
Drew is all about order, order in his home, order at work and order in his head but once Lola is thrown in the mix he starts to reevaluate things in his life and has to deal with her need to find to the truth about Randy as well as his ex trying to get custody of his daughter.
Definitely get comfy for this read as it has it all and will have you turning the page to see what happens not only with Lola and drew but also some of those within the Widows Club! I can't wait to read the next book in this series!!!

This book was too much. It had some moments that made me chuckle, and the characters were endearing (most of them) but there was too much going on and no real love story. Yes, our leads got their happily ever after, but it didn’t feel genuine and I felt like they spent no time together? I’m not sure but this definitely didn’t work for me.

There were absolutely some moments I loved, particularly in the first third of the book, and I was really getting into it. Unfortunately it turned into a kind of runaway train with too many tangents and I just struggled. 2 1/2 stars for this one.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

It was almost like I was in this small town of Sunshine Colorado. You are dropped off in a town where everyone knows your business, and tells you exactly when you are doing something wrong. Sheriff Drew's cousin, is the stickler officer who wants to arrest everybody, even the 70 year old for going 5 miles over the limit. most important, you have Lola who is just trying to figure out how to move on after her husband of a year has passed and secrets start to come out. She gave up her life, and career for him, and if she doesn't have him what does she have left?

Well the ladies of the Sunshine Valley Widows Club are sure to help her get a move on, and hijinks may just occur. Lots of laughter, lots of moments to find yourself, moments of grief, but also lots of joy.

Melinda Curtis launches her new series with a story that had me laughing out loud, shedding a tear or two, and excited to return to Sunshine Valley for more of the same. I'm not sure how I'd classify this book. It's part sweet romance, part romantic comedy, and part small-town fiction, with a community of characters whose stories are interwoven into the fabric of the book. If you enjoy Sheila Roberts (as I do), this is written in a similar vein.

I adored Lola. She thought she had found her prince in her husband Randy, a man who came to her rescue on a NYC street then proposed after a whirlwind romance, taking her home to his small Colorado hometown following their wedding, a town that never stopped viewing her as an outsider. She's still mourning him - and feeling very much alone - when she accidentally discovers his secret life. Who could blame her for going off the rails? What follows, as she tries to track down the mystery women in her late husband's life, is hilarious, poignant, and surprising. I enjoyed how the many layers of the real Lola - her insecurity, vulnerability, and kindness - are revealed to the readers, and the other characters, through her actions. I was especially touched by her interactions with her clients and their families. And I absolutely loved her kick-ass, take-no-prisoners attitude at the funeral of one member of a local prominent family. I can't wait to see the fall-out from that in coming books.

Drew is a man with problems of his own. He has too many women in his family to look after already, an ex who wants joint custody of their six-year-old daughter after abandoning them when their daughter was a baby, a Barney Fife-wannabe deputy (who also happens to be his cousin), and has convinced himself he needs a sweet, calm (boring) wife to sway the judge in his custody case. In his mind, and the minds of most of the town, Lola is not what he needs. Yet, he can't seem to stay away from her...though he sure does fight it hard. He's a good guy, and a great father, but his personality has been shaped by childhood events which have led him to think he knows what's best for the women in his life. He's about to get schooled. ;-)

At the center of the community are the members of the Sunshine Valley Widows Club and they're having problems of their own. Some of their antics are hilarious and sometimes their meddling goes sideways but, at their core, they are goodhearted women who share a solid bond of friendship, want the best for Sunshine Valley, and happiness for the couples in their matchmaking sights. They're also behind most of the fundraising activities in town, such as the annual fashion show. A word of advice: don't have anything in your mouth when you get to that scene!

The second book in the Sunshine Valley series, A Very Merry Match, will be released September 29th and features a newly-divorced single dad running for state assemblyman and a sweet, widowed kindergarten teacher with a side gig that, if uncovered, would be scandalous with a capital S. I already have it on pre-order. In the meantime, if you want more Sunshine Valley fun now, check out the prequel novella: The Christmas Wish.

This is an author debut & this book was just adorably sweet! It’s was quite quirky as well! Our main characters aren’t looking for love at all! Lola is a slightly recent widow and finds out her husband had cheated on her. She wants to know with who & if he really loved her. Drew’s a single dad and the town sheriff. He believes himself quite the knowledgeable guy in women seeing he has 4 sister & a 6 yr old daughter. What Drew isn’t ready for is the force that is Lola. On one encounter he finds her at her husbands grave with a gun & a blow up doll! These two have so many LOL encounters but also so many heartfelt ones also. I felt for Lola and was rooting for her HEA! It was well deserved. Drew was a stand up guy and exactly what Lola needed. All in all a cute sweet romance! The sexy mayor’s story is next!

Lighthearted and Fun.
Lola is devastated to realise a year after her husband died that he was cheating on her. Her quest to find out the truth causes ruckus in town and lands her in hot water with the sheriff. Secrets and betrayals, humour and friendships. An enjoyable and recommended clean read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Can't Hurry Love is a cute and unpredictable romance between a city girl and a small-town guy. Melinda Curtis adds the wit, humor, and the dazzling Widows Club.

Lola Williams is young and a widow. She gave up her dream career when she met her husband Randy. Now that he is gone she begins to find out that he led a life full of secrets. She doesn't want to fall in love ever again, but the ladies of the Widows Club have their own say in the matter.

Sheriff Drew Taylor lives in the town of Sunshine, Colorado. He lives a pretty simple lifestyle that is normally predictable. When he meets Lola she is wild and different from any woman he has met. She brings a ray of sunshine to his world. But he too isn't looking for love

The Widows Club continues to play matchmakers and keep getting them together and they are great together. They are so awkward and cute and just make you want to blush. I liked this couple and the Widows Club really shined throughout the story.

I give Can't Hurry Love 4 stars. It's such a quirky romance that will give off first love vibes. I think Melinda Curtis did a great job with the start of the Sunshine Valley series and I am looking forward to reading more in the series.

The two main characters, widow Lola Winters and Sheriff Drew Taylor are working on finding the items Lola finds missing after finding out her deceased husband had affairs before he died. The quirky Widow's Club is trying to match Lola and Drew up but not with each other. It's alwys fun when the Widow's Club gets involved. I really enjoyed this story.

I am excited this is a series, I say that because the town of Sunshine it full of some really fun characters and I can't wait to see where the author goes next. My two favorite characters would have to be Lola and Becky, Becky was a pistol she was so cute, sometimes you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. I like Lola because no matter what she was a fighter and super independent she also had a vulnerability to her that made her feel like she could be your best friend, which made it feel like you were catching up instead of reading about fictional characters. I liked the judge too and his punishments oh my if we all had a judge like this in our towns. I wish that one thing that happened towards the end would have happened a little sooner, but I understand the book had to play out the way it did for a reason. Overall this book was fun read and it was a good clean read.

This was a sweet, small town romance. Lola is a young widow who finds out that her husband had been cheating on her. Drew is a single dad and the towns sheriff who is beginning a custody battle with his absent ex wife. Lola sets out to find out who her husband was cheating with and finds trouble along the way.... of course that means running into Drew.
I loved the idea of this book and I thought Drew and Lola were both fun characters, but it honestly felt a little disjointed. The widows club was super cute, but there were so very many side characters that I found myself confused and it stopped the flow of the story. There were some super funny references to her deceased husband sexcapades and toys, but nearly no steam at all between the main characters. I guess I just missed the connection between them. Cute story, cute town with fun characters, but just personally not my fave.

I absolutely love this cover!!
Lola left her big New York City life to move to Sunshine Colorado for Randy, the love of her life. Shortly after being married Randy dies and Lola discovers Randy wasn't faithful.
Drew has enough on his plate with his ex coming back into town wanting visitation with his 6 year daughter, keeping his wild and crazy sisters in line and now he has to add watching Lola to his list.

I unfortunately did care for this one. My first problem was there were way too many characters. I had a hard time keeping up when a minor character was mentioned and then mentioned again 2 or 3 chapters later. I kept getting drawn out of the story trying to remember who that person was or if we'd even been introduced to them previously.
Secondly, There were a couple points in the story where I thought for sure Lola needed a psych evaluation. But it was supposed to be seen as funny or a quirky part of the story. I know everyone reacts differently to death, however had she been a friend of mine, I would've gotten some mental help for her.
Lastly, Lola and Drew had no chemistry. In fact I thought they had very little interactions at all throughout the entire book, yet alone enough to fall in love. Which left me feeling very dissatisfied with the ending.

Can't Hurry Love was a charming, laugh inducing, tear jerker of a tale set amidst the perfect small town background. Vivid characters, including meddlesome seniors and sticky situations with a tenderhearted heroine who is as equally bold and feisty as she is frail and damaged gives you a sweet and sexy romance that will leave you with all the feels. Can't wait for more in the series...

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I think it's a cross between Women's Fiction and Romance. This book contains a lot of quirky characters, including a Widows' Club that helps matchmake, a widow who just learned some surprising (and not in a good way) secrets about her husband, and single dad, who also happens to be the local sheriff. There' s a lot of humor and the characters seems real. A warning that some of the plot might be a little unrealistic. Personally, that's not a deal breaker for me, but be warned if it is for you. This is 5 stars for me because of the humor, the characters, the multiple storylines, the relationships, and the growth of the characters (lots of hope!).

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate the opportunity!

Then comes the Matchmaking Club & Sheriff Drew Taylor...

REVIEW: I enjoyed this ChickLit style novel and thought it was a cute read. Very light on the love story part, I thought it was more along the lines of a woman learning about herself, her friends, and her place in the small town with a small side of love. There isn’t really any steam for those who don’t care for it! I loved the overall life lessons the characters learned and the “I am who I am” attitude of Lola.
