This book is one that I could recommend for a female audience who enjoys fictional lifestyles regardless of if they are relatable. It is always fun to take bits of characters and make them similar to yourself. It helps you enter into the book as a ghostly background character. The mystery of the book is just an added boost!

Katherine St. John is now one of my must read authors. I could not put this book down. Booze cruise luxury, yachting in Europe's hottest ocean hotspots, friend drama, relationships, and, ultimately, a murder. This one had a little bit of everything, and is absolutely stunning.

This was a good thriller! Set in the luxe of money and high stakes business, a group of friends with relationships hanging by a string set off to the Riviera. Getting just enough to put the pieces together by the end, this wrapped up nicely and fairly for all involved.

THE LION'S DEN is one juicy read. Quite frankly, it has it all. The character, the fast-pace of the writing, and thrilling twists make it a completely addictive read.

I really enjoyed that this book felt like the perfect lighthearted summer read! The Mediterranean Yacht setting was so dreamy, and I loved that the book also involved a mystery. Can't wait to read more by this author, I will definitely be recommending this one for people's spring break reading lists!

Secrets and lies. Secrets and lies. When will people learn that this is not a winning combination?

When invited on a free trip on a billionaire's yacht, the answer is yes for Belle, but things are never quite as they seem. When things go south on the boat, Belle has to keep her wits about her to make it off alive.

This is a great book to pick up for fans of thrillers. Katherine St. John whisks readers away with this one.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book.
Interesting story of best friends and how they betray one another. How one will even murder to get what she wants. Twists and turns keep one reading and though it starts slow, once it gets going, you don't want to put it down. Not much to socially redeem it but it is entertaining..

Katherine St. John's books always bring a smile to my face and The Lion's Den was no exception! Part Jackie Collins mega-watt smut mixed with suspense - what a quick page turner!

WOW, this book. From the first chapter, I felt the need to keep reading until I was finished. This book follows Belle as she goes on an all-expense-paid trip with her friend Summer's boyfriends' yacht. You have this feeling the whole time you're reading that there is something off about Summer and her boyfriend, and you cannot stop reading until you figure it out. It was the perfect summer suspense read, and I can't wait to read more from Katherine St. John!

Belle and Summer have been friends since they were teenagers. Belle has let Summer live with her, has always had her back, and has even given up a guy she was interested in because "Summer saw him first. But they've also had their problems, and right now they are not much on speaking terms. So when Summer invites Belle and some other friends to stay on her boyfriend's yacht for 7 days, Belle is surprised, but willing to go. Once aboard, though, nothing is what it seems. Summer's boyfriend is controlling and paranoid, he has strange business men coming on the yacht for shady deals, and Summer is acting like a total bitch. Told from rotating views from the present and the past, we learn that Eric, the guy Summer was dating that Belle likes, has gone missing and may have committed suicide. But nothing adds up. From being drugged so they go to sleep, to being locked into their rooms at night, to being herded around by the boyfriend's goons, this story is absolutely crazy!

This was a great end of summer escape. I love rich people problems books and I couldn't resist a book about a down on her luck actress/waitress on a billionaire's yacht. This fell into the category of a suspense caper- books that are suspenseful and engaging but definitely over the top. This reminded me a bit of Big Summer in the rivalry between friends from high school and the drama. This was easy to breeze through but won't stick out to me long term, though, this did scratch my travel itch.

This book was just so darn good! It had a couple twists I did NOT see coming, which was a pleasant surprise coming from a book I thought would be more Women's Fiction than mystery. (Not knocking women's fiction, I read that too!). I was genuinely rooting for Belle, just as much as I was rooting for Summer's downfall. I love reading about the rich behaving badly! This book has a little bit of everything- plot twists, suspenseful moments, romance, best friend drama.... One I have been recommending!

I can see the appeal of this book for people looking for and easy breezy summer read. This book brings you into the life of the super rich with yachts, caviar and backstabbing. I was a little bored halfway through but the ending ramps up the excitement.

Wanna-be actress Belle joins her childhood best friend, Summer's, invitation to join her on a week-long yacht trip on her wealthy boyfriend's yacht to celebrate Summer's birthday. Joined by a few other girlfriends and Summer's mom and sister, the trip begins on shaky ground as Belle and Summer's friendship is precarious. As the reader begins to see in flashback chapters, Belle has begun to see the Summer's instability and psychopathic personality. The trip soon turns into a nightmare as Belle realizes the "guests" are being locked in their rooms at night, possibly sedated through food and drink, and monitored through their devices.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book when I requested to read it through NetGalley - I felt like I was taking a risk. The description made me feel like it would be a little bit of a freaky pseudo-S&M read, but it turned out to be an engrossing thriller nee page-turner. Belle, who initially seemed fairly shallow, turned out to be smarter and more observant than how she initially came across. She was braver, too, when she began to push back from the power and intimidation of the wealth. I also appreciate her disgust in Summer's capitulation to the whims of a dirty old wealthy man in order to live the high life. The ending tied up a bit too easily for me, but honestly, I was a little worried that the ending would not work out as it "should."

Great "next read" recommendation for Samantha Downing and Simone St. James fans.

When Bella's best friend Summer invites her on a Mediterranean cruise on her older billionaire boyfriend's private yacht, she sees it as a perfect getaway. But the holiday soon turns into a nightmare as Bella realizes that Summer is out to punish her and the billionaire is a controlling bully who may be a criminal. When the danger escalates to murder, Bella must find a way to escape her floating prison. This hard to put down thriller does not disappoint.

I was really wanting to love this book and it did not disappoint!! This is a great vacation read. You are on a boat, in the Mediterranean and there is a murder. The story is told flipping from past to present. You get to see how these two girls become friends and what ends their friendship. What starts as tagging along on a free vacation with her best friend her older, wealthy boyfriend turns into intrigue! A great read to escape with!

This was the perfect setting for a light summer read, despite the dark thriller genre. It was fun to see the opulence of the yacht and how Belle experienced it, and it was interesting to see how transparent Summer was about trading a relationship / sex for money. I didn’t expect the twists, but really enjoyed them. Overall, a little bit shallow, but a lot of fun!
