R. Parr's Unstable Orbit promised a thrilling tale of opposites attracting. Unfortunately, the execution fell short of expectations. The novel's primary flaw lies in its stilted dialogue, which often feels forced and unnatural, hindering the reader's ability to connect with the characters.
The central premise of the opposites attract trope, while a classic, failed to resonate in this instance. The characters' contrasting personalities felt more like stereotypes than fully developed individuals. Silver and Mark's interactions lack depth and complexity and do not captivate the reader.
The thinly written characters further contributed to the novel's shortcomings. Their motivations and backstories were underdeveloped, leaving the reader disconnected from their experiences.
Ultimately, I did not connect with Unstable Orbit.  While the characters meet cute offered potential for an exciting and unique narrative, the execution fell flat.

2.5 Stars DNF (I received an e-arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review)

For some reason I thought that this was going to be a graphic novel and there were some illustrations at the start but not much after that. The writing is kind of all over the place as well as the characters, tending to flip flop moods and thoughts. I got 46% of the way through , which is pretty much where all of the reality show plot has ended and has gone in a completely different weird direction. Something like a mafia plot with her best friend and them getting away from them. Honestly once any trace of the reality show plot disappears, so does any sense of reason.

A quirky rom-com that I had mixed feelings about.

I liked this book. The writing style was good; the author was straight to the point and neat chapters provided the info to follow the story without too much flowery text.

The first half of the book was better than the second, which is really unusual. The story started well and I was hooked pretty quickly. However, the second half of the book felt like it was rushed for a happy-ever-after ending, it just didn’t come together in a way that I’m used to.

There were no twists or surprises. So I found myself a bit deflated when I got to the epilogue.

3.5 stars from me. The story was just a bit flat. However, I loved the author’s style of writing and will definitely read other work from them!

I enjoyed the Unstable Orbit very much. I laugh Mark could not lie, Silver was bossy. But a very cute read. I would recommend it to friends.
Thank you, NetGalley for the advance copy to review.
