Everafter Song was a strong ending to this trilogy. I felt like the first two books were just okay, but this one was so much better. I thought the ending was perfect, although I really would have enjoyed seeing what happened to all of the characters, not just the few that were mentioned. Overall, I would recommend this book as a quick and fun read. This review will also be shared on Goodreads.
This series really surprised me, and I’m sad that it’s over now. I really loved the world-building, and became super invested in the characters. Cracking plots, a very heinous antagonist and some really fun characters made thus a great read. Definitely recommmeded!
Everley Donovan comes into her own in this exciting and unforgettable series closer.
If the series had a thesis, I think it would be these lines: “There will always be monsters. We can’t let them go unchallenged, or why get up in the morning and face the worlds?”
Everley faces down her monsters with the help of her friends. Ultimately, she is willing to sacrifice everything for what is right. Proving that even a broken girl with a clockheart can change the destiny of worlds.
I’ve read other reviews that thought the ending was bittersweet, but I found it beautiful and rewarding.
I was initially lukewarm to this series, but I really enjoyed book 2 and eagerly awaited this final book in the trilogy. I had ideas how the book would proceed, and I was generally wrong. The author took this final installment in a rather unique, unexpected direction. Although I was satisfied with the conclusion, I probably would have ended it a different way #nospoilers. I also thought that there were some odd tangents in the book that distracted from the overall story.
Still, I enjoyed Ms. King's creativity, I thought it was a fascinating series for lovers of fantasy and fairytales, and I would read a future series by Ms. King.
This was a good ending to the trilogy. It actually read faster than the previous 2 books. I just wish the epilogue had shared a bit more about what happened to certain characters. But otherwise, I'm happy with how everything turned out.
This book was a bittersweet ending to a series I thought was absolutely brilliant. Everley Donovan is a hunted woman on a quest to finally bringing her enemy, Killian Markham, down. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the others, but they were still good. It’s in this book you finally get to see Everley fully developed into a young woman who can give love and receive it in return. You also see the value in her relationships. In her quest to avenge her murdered family, she makes an entirely new one with the friends she makes along the way. Everafter Song brings this story full circle in a way one can appreciate with a bittersweet and heartbreaking, yet hopeful ending. I can’t wait to see what else Emily King does In the future!
Thank you to Skyscape Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I personally thought this book was a weak ending to such a strong and magical series. It felt like the whole book was focused on revenge and I felt like it got old. I wanted to see more of Evie's relationships with her friends and Jamison. I still enjoyed the book, especially the part where she was in the giants world! It felt magical then. I just felt like this book lacked the magic that the other two books did. And the ending was happy but it felt odd.
The conclusion to the Evermore Chronicles will have Everley Donovan making the ultimate sacrifice, but can she do it? Killian Markham, the prince of elves, has a devious plan and is always steps ahead of Everley Donovan and her friends. Everley has been Killian's pawn for too long. Killian has allies and plans to wake the giants from their slumber to finish what was started hundreds of years ago, making the humans servants to the elves. Everley will have to gather allies, including ones she believed were enemies, to save time and those she loves, for she is the Time Bearer, the only one who can stop Killian. Everley and her companions travel through the different lands, dealing with mermaids, elves, giants, and humans. Seeing glimpses of the future and the horrors that will come if they do not succeed gives Everley more determination to stop Killian. But Killian has been planning this for a long time and revenge is a powerful motivator. Killian is a master manipulator and Everley will need to somehow outsmart him to save time.
A good conclusion to this trilogy. I enjoy the strong characters, the representation through a diverse and inclusive band. A well rounded story with just the right balance of battle and team. Not to be read out of sequence, this is a series worth binging!
