I have had a love-hate relationship with Stacey Lynn’s Crazy Love series. I loved the first book in the series. But, with the next two books, I was “meh.” Those two books didn’t impress me too much. So, when I saw that Weekend Fling was up for review on NetGalley, I decided to give it ago. I figured with two “meh” books in a row that I would like the next book. And I thought right. I enjoyed reading Weekend Fling. It was just the book I needed to read, and it reignited my interest in the series.
The plotline for Weekend Fling had an excellent flow to it. Having a good flow to the plotline makes the book so much easier to read. The pacing of the book was medium, which I enjoyed. I go back and forth on how fast I like my romances to be. Sometimes I like them slow. Other times I want them fast. And still other times, I like the medium-paced. There were no dropped storylines or characters who mysteriously disappear.
I wasn’t a fan of Willow when Weekend Fling started. She rubbed me the wrong way with the way she treated Trey. But, as I got involved in the book, I began to see why Willow treated him the way she did. She was burning the candle at both ends. Willow was resentful that her father could leave and go on with his life. She also was becoming resentful that her mother couldn’t pull herself out of her depression. I was surprised when she agreed to go away with Trey for the weekend. By that point, I started to like her. She had an inner strength that most people don’t have, how she acted in the events after the wedding showcased that perfectly.
I loved Trey. He was everything that Willow needed and then some. I loved that he wasn’t pushy. Trey let Willow set the pace of their relationship. I also loved how he was there for her, and he didn’t let her push him away during the last half of the book. There was a point in the book where I thought Trey needed to be a little more pushy with her. Almost as soon as I felt that, he took charge. Loved it!!
There are some triggers in Weekend Fling. The author touches upon mental illness and suicide during the book. The author’s note at the end of the book broke my heart. I started bawling my eyes out when reading it.
Weekend Fling can be read as a stand-alone book. It is the 4th book in the Crazy Love series. What I enjoyed is that the author was able to bring the previous characters from the previous three books into this book but keep them in the background.
Trey and Willow had insane sexual chemistry. The author chose to let it build and build throughout the book. When they finally did have sex, it was a flipping explosion. I loved it!! The sex scenes after that weren’t as hot, but they were still good.
The end of Weekend Fling was bittersweet. I thought that Willow’s father’s explanation was weak AF, but it still worked. I loved the epilogue!!!
I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher, a day before heading out of town for a trip, and it sounded like a perfect distraction during my flight. Never having read any of the author’s previous work, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
This novel, while a fun, quick, engaging read, was certainly not without substance. I started reading and didn’t stop until I’d finished! I am now looking forward to trying some of the author’s backlist titles and definitely recommend this one!
I am really enjoying this series by Ms. Lynn. And this story is another fantastic addition!
Weekend Fling is Trey & Willow's story.
Willow is drowning in responsibilities. She is trying to do the best she can with what she knows.
Trey is a breath of fresh air in Willow's world. He is someone who could be such a bright light in Willow's world if she would just accept it.
I applaud Ms. Lynn with her approach to depression in this story. It doesn't overwhelm the story but it also brings to light the overwhelming and devastating disease that is depression and how it not only affects the individual but the family and friends that surround them.
The chemistry between Trey & Willow is just wowza and I liked how Trey was able to take care of Willow when she needed it most. He was who she needed him to be.
Get your hands on this story!
Weekend Fling by Stacey Lynn was a fun read that was sweet and emotional. Willow Parks has a lot on her plate. Just being dumped by her long term boyfriend, her father walking out on her mother and her mother falling apart. The last thing she needs is the gorgeous, millionaire
Trey Collins in her life. She is done with men. But Trey is hard to ignore, Especially when he offers a much needed getaway to attend a friend’s wedding.
Willow does not want anything serious right now, but the more time she spends with Trey, the more she falls. Trey knows he wants Willow and will do anything to show her he is serious. Will Willow let Trey in or push him away? Weekend Fling by Stacey Lynn was at times emotional and others sweet and charming.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4.5
Weekend Fling is a quick read. And I say that to mean that the book went straight into everything without “steeping”. Like the author need to compress the story into a 45 minute Hallmark movie. This could definitely be a result of being the 4th book in the series but I haven’t read those yet.
That being said, on the surface it appears to be typical romance about a rich guy that falls for an interesting beautiful lady. However; it takes a turn into mental health and its effects on not just that person but the ones they love as well. You can’t pour from an empty cup, comes to mind. I do love that the handsome, rich beau in this story doesn’t just throw money at the problems to magically make them disappear but shows our lovely lady consistency in support & love and eventually shows her that true love can withstand her baggage and that she doesn’t have to carry it alone. (Dreamy I know 💕 Who doesn’t want to be loved even when your life is crazy?)
I take off 1/2 a heart for the compressed nature of the book and some of the dialogue of the characters. Might be just me and how I see the characters in my mind but I just don’t see them saying some of the things they do 🤷🏻♀️ maybe it’s just the author wanting to have the characters say funny & random things but it just didn’t read well. Even though it’s very similar to how I talk with my friends 😆
I would recommend this book & I’ll definitely read the other books from this series. If you read them, please leave your thoughts below in the comments.
Happy Reading 📖
I consider myself still fairly new to Stacey Lynn's books, and after reading this one, I had to go back and find the first two in the series. You don't need to read them in order to make sense of what is happening, but I enjoyed the book so much I wanted to read the others. Willow is working all the jobs and trying to care for her mother who is in a depressed state since Willow's dad left a year earlier. Willow knows Ian through work and friends, and when he asks her to be his weekend date for a weekend away, she eventually agrees.
It doesn't take long for feelings to deepen, and Willow has to cut her weekend away short. Trey comes through for her on more than one occasion (even when she isn't asking for him to come through for her), and I just love how they work things out - regardless of Trey being friend-zoned by Willow.
The story is sweet, but also deals with deeper topics compared to the previous books in the series. I highly recommend!
Willow is not having a great life at the moment; she needs an escape from having to work two jobs to support her mother who is depressed after Willow's dad walked out for seemingly no reason. When Trey, a tech-guy who comes into her coffee job and has flirted with her before, asks her to be his date to his best friend's wedding, she agrees. A weekend away, maybe a hot fling with a hot guy will make her life look a little bit happier.
Trey is ecstatic. He has been crushing hard on this woman and the more time he spends with her, the more he is interested in being with her for longer than the weekend. But real life intrudes and it will be how Willow and Trey deal with it will determine whether their relationship will survive.
This book is part of a series and I had not read any of the others nor anything else by Lynn before. I liked that she wrote about real-world problems (mental illness, having to confront your childhood through a different lens, etc.) but somehow it didn't quite hold my attention - something about the pacing and I also didn't really like Willow in the beginning. However, I finished the book and have since gone back and discovered that my library has the first 2 books since you could sort of tell which characters had been an earlier part of the series. I really liked the first and am looking forward to the second.
Three and a half stars
This book comes out November 26th

Opinions are my own
I loved Willow and Trey. Willow is surely struggling with caring for her mother and working two jobs to keep up on bills. Willow thinks her dad's asking for a divorce drove her mom to depression.
Willow meets Trey at her coffee cafe job and he pressed for a date. They have a good weekend but her mother attempted suicide and Willow runs back to discover her dad's side of things and how sick her mother really is. This is where we learn friends and good people can help us in life. Good story
3.5 stars
I haven’t read many books by Stacey Lynn but I have enjoyed the books I was fortunate enough to read.
I also haven’t read the other books in the Crazy Love series before but I didn’t feel like I was missing out. Ok..thats a lie. The secondary characters in this book were a hoot and I loved them all so much. So much to the point where I wanted to stop reading and start from Book 1.
Anyway, Weekend Fling was an utterly fun book.
The hero Trey Kollins is downright charming and wickedly naughty.
Willow and Trey’s chemistry is sinfully sexy and wrapped up with a big giant bow of sweet and fun.
Weekend Fling was an enjoyable read. Willow and Trey’s story in Weekend Fling started out with what would have been a frivolous fun yet it turned out to be so much more.
Weekend Fling is an entertaining romance, perfect for a fun weekend read.
Wonderfully emotional, sexy & sweet all wrapped up in Weekend Fling. Author Stacey Lynn has a wonderful way of telling a story that makes you feel like you’re actually in the story. Weekend Fling is a great addition to a fun series. Trey & Willow are both sweet, sexy & strong characters & they have massive chemistry together. Trey’s shyness made him such an adorable character but it was his determination & persuasive tendencies that made him the loveable guy he is. Willow’s strong determination made her a kick ass character & with everything she was going through she never gave up. The subject of mental health was written in such a truthful & sad way that it has your heart breaking for Willow & her family as we follow the revelations of her mother. The story leaves you with a wonderful uplifting feeling when Trey & Willow finally come to terms with their relationship & accept the happiness they both deserve. Definitely recommend.
When reality tries to interfere!
Barista Willow Parks was tired of having to live at home and taking care of her mom after her mom lost her job when she missed too many days of work when her dad moved out of the house. Willow was working two jobs trying to pay the bills never taking any time off. Customer Trey Collins has asked Willow out on a date but she always turned him down but when Trey asked her to be his date at his best friends/assistant’s wedding in San Diego, she agreed as a favor.
Willow only intended to see Trey for the weekend because she needs to work to pay the bills but when she has to go back when her mom ends up in the hospital, she realizes that Trey still wants to see her even after finding out all the problems she has in her life.
All of the Crazy Love series can be read as a stand-alone but reading all of them is definitely worth it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Weekend Fling by Stacey Lynn is the fourth book in the Crazy Love series and can be read as a stand-alone. It tells the story of Willow who has had a rough go lately. Her boyfriend of 5 years broke up with her and her father recently left her mother. Her mother has been struggling emotionally and hasn’t been able to return to work, so Willow is working two jobs to attempt to keep her afloat.
Trey is a self-made millionaire who has been asking Willow out for weeks and is quite persistent, even when she continually says, “no.”
Trey invites Willow to San Diego for a weekend wedding and the chemistry is off the charts. As feelings begin to develop, Willow distances herself to deal with family issues. Trey never backs down and is always there to support Willow even when she continually pushes him away. Will these two find their happily ever after? This is a great addition to the series and I look forward to Ms. Lynn’s next release.
Weekend Fling is the fourth book in the Crazy Love series by Stacey Lynn. Each book can be enjoyed on its own, but characters from the previous books do make appearances and are secondary characters. It is currently scheduled for release on November 26 2019.
Fresh out of a long-term relationship, Willow Parks is working two jobs and caring for her mother, whose husband left her with nothing but a pile of bills. That’s why Willow made a vow: no men until she figures out her own life. But while she may not need a man, she could use a break. And a weekend away at a California beach to clear her head? That’s appealing. Even if the offer comes from Trey Collins, the irresistible tech-mogul millionaire who visits her coffee shop every morning like clockwork—and needs a date for his best friend’s wedding. With an adorable, occasional stutter, he refuses to take no for an answer. Once the weekend begins, Trey is intent on proving how good they can be together. Willow’s even feeling tempted to break her vow—until reality rudely interrupts her well-deserved getaway. There’s no way she and Trey have a future, not with the colossal amount of baggage Willow has to offer. But Trey is used to getting what he wants. He just has his work cut out for him convincing her that they want the same thing.
Weekend Fling is a story that offers heart, heat, and laughs. Willow is going through some major life changes. She is more than a little overwhelmed- and a weekend of fun with an attractive guy by the beach seems like the perfect weekend vacation, at least until one more crisis comes her way. While I have never been in Willow's position- I could completely understand her reluctance and desire to maintain emotional distance. She was well written, and was a relatable and sympathetic character that was willing to own up to her own mistakes. Trey is almost too perfect for me- he is rich, attractive, a hard worker, and honestly a good guy with a great circle of friends. He gives Willow the space she asks for, and stays a friend while not lying about wanting more. I even loved his wacky parents, who offered up some of the best laughs in the book. Even with all that fun stuff, I like that the mental health aspects of the story are well done, not overwhelming but offering an honest look at how one family can be affected by it and see it all so differently. While this was not my favorite book in this series, it was still a great read with solid characters.
Weekend Fling is another fun romance that has some depth to it. I cannot wait to see what the author writes next.
Willow Parks' proverbial plate is overflowing, her days are spent working two jobs, caring for her ailing mother, and trying to squeeze a few spare minutes in to go to the gym for some "me time." She is also just coming out of a long term relationship and her heart is still weathering the effects of the break-up, so needless to say she does not have time for anything else... and that includes a sexy tech mogul named Trey.
Everyday he comes into the coffee shop, they share a few flirty glances, small conversation, and then he goes his way... not before trying to convince her to go on a date though. She has told him no several times, but this time he makes her a deal she can't really refuse, a much needed weekend away. She just has to agree to be his date for the weekend while they attend his friend's wedding... seems innocent enough! That is until he turns the charm on..
The pages of Weekend Fling come brimming with heartfelt emotion, family drama, sweet romance, and steamy exchanges...the perfect makings for a satisfying literary escape! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the romance unfold between these two, Willow had her doubts about giving love a second chance, uncertain that her heart could handle another heartbreak. But Trey wasn't anything like the man that came before him, his sweet demeanor and caring nature made it easy for her to fall for him. This was a wonderful addition to the series, the characters were amazing and the words were enthralling! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Cute story! Trey and Willow were a fun couple. I loved Trey’s steadfastness and the way he was there for Willow through her worst. What starts as a fun, light-hearted read turns serious and deals with mental illness. I thought the author handled it very delicately. I’m glad Willow got her HEA after all the hardships she faced. I do wish there had been more closure concerning her parents, but overall this is an enjoyable, quick read.
Weekend Fling is sweet and sexy. I love how Trey is just a little awkward when it comes to Willow. His family and friends will just make you smile and laugh out loud. Trey is an amazing guy with a big heart and knows what he wants. He isn't afraid to step back either. He is the kind of guy you want by your side. Willow is so strong. I love how she stands up for her mom and herself. You will love her strength and just see how sweet she is. Willow is just amazing and I love her with Trey. The chemistry is hot and you will love what they bring to the pages. You need to fall in love with Trey and Willow today. I just love this book.
Willow is a character you can identify with. She is fresh off a break up that has left her more than shaken, her parents are splitting up and she is left to mop up her dad's mess and take care of her mother- who is battling depression and sinking the family finances. Willow is nowhere near ready for a new man in her life, but Trey is persistent and gives Willow an offer she can't refuse- a stress-free weekend away.
Trey is a sexy multi-millionaire and could have almost any woman going; however, the sexy and sweet barista attracts his attention. For months Trey has admired Willow from afar, yes he made small talk and casually asked her out, but Trey is extremely serious about his attraction to Willow and very patient to wait her out.
When Willow agrees to the getaway the fun begins. These two definitely had the sweet and sexy chemistry down, they were hot together. The easy flow of them being together and the natural way that Willow fit in with Trey's family and friends seals the deal that he wants more from Willow. Willow really likes Trey, but she is gun shy of relationships. As her guard is down and she is ready to express her feelings of wanting maybe more from Trey when they return, Willow is sucked back into the drama of real life and must head home. Feeling crushed under the weight of family drama, Willow questions what she and Trey truly had and thus pushes him away. During this time Trey shows his sweet and patient side and vows to be there for Willow.
I loved this story not only for the relationship between Willow and Trey, but also the struggles of family Willow endured and the attention to her mother's problems. Also, the friendship of Trey and Willow's friends. I missed out on their books, but I hope to get to read them soon.
Another 5 star story by this amazing author. I read it in one single evening, it’s that entertaining.
Trey has been relentless in his pursuit to get a date with Willow. When she finally agrees to go to his best friends wedding, they can’t seem to keep their hands away from each other.
It’s an insta romance that happens in a weekend. It was to the point and very addicting. I loved these amazing characters. Trey has been in the previous stories. It was an heartwarming and heartfelt story. There were some time that my heart would break for Willow. She had a lot to deal with. Beautifully written with a seamless plot. A must read.
Rest assured this story can be read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Another fantastic story by the wonderful Stacey Lynn. This is the fourth installment in her Crazy Love series and in this book we finally get the story of Trey. I absolutely love the character of Trey. He deserved to get his own book. It's probably a good idea to have read the other books in the series before reading this one because the characters from past books make an appearance, which I loved. Trey finds himself interested in a waitress from the coffee shop he goes to named Willow. Willow has had an easy go of it, which is why she keeps turning Trey down. Trey coming into her life is the best thing to happen to her in a long time. Her boyfriend of five years dumped her and her dad left her mom, which leads her to stop caring about life. Willow has to pick up two jobs to pick up the bills. Willow finally gives in and goes away with Trey for a weekend getaway. They end up falling for each other in a beautiful way. Also, she fits in well with Trey's friends. This story has a lot of depth and the characters were well-written. I can't recommend this book enough! Excellent read!
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
The romance in this novel is built on a very shallow foundation. Trey, a sexy tech millionaire is attracted to the sexy and pretty Willow who works as a barista in the coffee shop in his building. But Willow is cynical about romance and men having been thrown over by her ex while she has to help her unstable mother after her father walked out.
But they’re both sexy so they have sexy times when he convinces her to go away for a weekend. She has to leave to take care of her mother and freezes him out. But he’s good-looking and nice so we know it will all work out.
I just couldn’t bring myself to care about either of these people. It’s not clear why they are together except that the other one is sexy. It’s like a fairy tale where the prince takes one look at the heroine and that’s all he needs. I would have liked more.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
