Cuts story that would be safe for most anyone out there. Way more sweet than spice with this one. However not a bad way to pass an afternoon.

There’s a couple of things that annoy me with romances. One is that the hero or heroine, or both, can be absolute assholes but all is forgiven because they’re good looking. Ugh. It’s actually quite a common romance trope and I’ll never understand it. If a guy constantly treated me like a piece of dirt under his shoe, I’d hardly going to be thinking I still want to get him into bed, no matter how wide his shoulders were. Ugh. And that’s the crux of it with this book.

Our hero, Kiet, is described as grumpy. I’d call him downright rude. He’s got a chip on his shoulder and he is not only verbally but, a couple of times, physically intimidating. But our heroine, Zoe, thinks he’s hot, so all good. *rolls eyes*

There is an attempt to add diversity into the book: Kiet’s heritage and Zoe’s sister’s sexuality. It’s another one of those ‘good intentions’ by the author that adds nothing to the plot really.

The extent of Christmas is the attendance of one party which could have been a celebration for any reason. The rest is the heroine investigating who has been stealing from Kiet’s business. This wouldn’t have been so bad but for the unrealistic dramatic turn it all takes towards the end. And the fact that Dahlia wraps it all up with an info dump.

The ending actually could have been okay if not for this info dump and summary of ‘what happened’. Dahlia would have been better off actually writing the scenes instead of recapping them. If the word count had gotten the better of her, there were lots of ‘he’s so hot’ and ‘her breasts are fantastic’ thinky thoughts she could have cut.

It wasn't all bad but it's another book which could have worked if an editor was involved.

2 ½ out of 5

The last thing Kiet Viravaidya wants to do on Christmas Day is deliver oysters from his farm to a party that he's not invited to. But duty calls-the party is being hosted by Christophe, a chef who is a regular client, and having been stung by embezzlement, Kiet's business needs the money. Kiet doesn't want to talk to people, and history has taught him he can't trust anyone, especially not the gorgeous stranger in a ridiculous Christmas dress with dangling Santa earrings. Zoe Russell loves Christmas but thanks to her family, the last couple of Christmases haven't been much fun. When she's invited to Christophe's Christmas party, she leaps to say yes. Zoe spies Kiet shucking oysters in the kitchen, and something about his competent hands draws her to him. She wants to know more about him, and as a forensic accountant, she can't resist the thrill of figuring out who is embezzling from his business. It seems like the perfect reason to spend time together.
This was a decent holiday read. I tend to read a lot of holiday books so it takes something extra special to really grab me, and this one really didn’t. It wasn’t bad, per se, just right in the middle.

I have read and enjoyed the other books in this series and was expecting to enjoy this one too, but unfortunately His Christmas Pearl landed a bit flat for me. The writing was a little clunky and I didn't like the character Kiet at all, and so the happy ending didn't ring true for me. It was one of those romance stories where I feel the characters would be better off seeing a good psychologist than getting involved in a relationship! I also found the climax a bit silly.

The third book in the Rainbow Cove series, Renee Dahlia brings you the final chapter and the story of Kiet and Zoe. This was the perfect ending to a wonderful holiday series, there was so much in this storyline from mystery to romance and so much more. Time to grab yourself a copy of this book and the rest of the series and sit back and enjoy some holiday stories.

His Christmas Pearl is the fourth book in the Rainbow Cove Christmas series. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading these books in order. I really enjoyed this one and thought it was a lot different from the others in the series. I enjoyed both Kiet and Zoe individually and adored them together. If you are looking for a holiday read I do recommend this book and the others in the series.

Highly entertaining, sexy, fun and engaging romantic journey filled with exciting charters, heartwarming moments, intriguing twists and undeniable passion.... was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed reading this emotionally thrilling holiday adventure.

Book four, but first one I've read, which may have been why I struggled with this one a bit. Kiet and Zoe are the main characters, and the romance is part of the story. Issues of course, but was lost at times. Assume it would help to read all the books in order. Would recommend if you have read the other books.

Beautiful Christmas story to put people in the festive mood.
Zoe is a super smart bubbly accountant while Kiet is a grumpy oyster farmer. Two opposites attracting!
Great read!

His Christmas Pearl is Rainbow Cove Christmas book 4 by author Renee Dahlia. Kiet Viravaidya runs his family business Rainbow Cove Oyster Farm, having taken over when his parents were killed in a freak accident. He took over as caregiver for his younger brother Sam, being sure to complete Sam’s education, but not his own. Because of an issue Sam had with a guest at Chef Christophe’s orphan Christmas dinner, Kiet has made the oyster delivery and is preparing them when he is approached by an unusual woman, Zoe Russell, who engages him in testy banter.
She finally leaves him alone in the kitchen and moves onto the dinner, not to really talk again until the end of the party when she discovers Kiet dozing on the couch after having had one too many. She offers to drive him home although it is out of her way. When they approach his home a storm hits which ultimately causes her to wreck her car. Since it is Christmas night there is little option but for Zoe to stay in Kiet and Sam’s guest room. While there, she learns they have had a rash of missing funds and suspect embezzlement. As a forensic accountant, Zoe offers to help, after all she has a few days off and always did love a challenge. However, what Zoe discovers will ultimately put her in danger while drawing her closer to Kiet.

This is a nicely written book that deals with several social issues, including homophobia, multiracial couples, fraud, and embezzlement. This book was interesting and I not only enjoyed it but also recommend it.

I found the writing clunky, awkward and hard to get into. There was a lot more telling than showing, especially with the long internal monologues. I liked the idea of the main characters and Kiet, a Vietnamese-Australian oyster farmer was engaging and sympathetic. It will probably be clear within a few pages if this is a good fit, the writing style is consistent throughout.

This is the third book in the Rainbow Cove series and it doesn't disappoint. Another couple who fell out a long time ago find themselves thrown together again. What will happen,, read this and find out for yourself I recommend the whole series , there is one more book to come.

His Christmas Pearl is the fourth and final story in this multi author series and a delightful edition written Renée Dahlia. Along with the expected Christmas theme, there is mystery, a reluctance to trust and an undeniable attraction. But even though there are many facets to this story, it remains essentially a light, entertaining and enjoyable tale to round out the series.

A multi author series with His Christmas Pearl being the fourth book and is written by Renée Dahlia.

3.5 stars - Her Christmas Pearl is a nice holiday read. Before I read this, I didn’t realize it was one of a related series of books. I was a little lost in the beginning until things started moving. The mystery of the missing money was a nice side plot & added another dimension to Kiet & his mistrust of women & Zoe & her innocence. They both have issues with trusting the other but their attraction is overwhelming. If you enjoy light, entertaining holiday stories, I think you’ll enjoy this one.
