As much as I enjoyed this book, as a whole there were aspects that didn;t really hit it, for me.
I struggled to find a connection with Theo, not becuase she isn't awesome, becasue she is a pretty complex character, but because I found her mannerisms and the way she talked to be rather annoying.
I think this will be a favourite among YA readers, the book community are screaming out for more witchy-type novels and this one won't disappoint.
This was a truly fantastic read. It made me want to pack up and move to Salem asap. This book was perfect for the fall/halloween season and I'm so excited to find out whats next. I finished this in less than a day and was so ingrosed in reading that I forgot everything and anyone around me. Fantastic book.
Cookie cut story. I'm probably not the audience for this book, maybe a teenager that didn´t read enough fantasy to know what is coming will find this interesting. I just find it boring. DNF.
I liked this book. It was a good start to the series, and I will be picking up the next one. However, I didn’t like the insta-love type thing going on. The MC - Theo, Hazel and Theo’s aunt were well written as were the relationships. I did kinda guess the villain, but it didn’t take away much from the story.
Something wicked this way comes...

Finished this great, witchy eARC today and fell under it's spell because of @nicolemrubino's beautiful writing and great characters.

At first, I thought it would turn out as just another teen-girl-with-great-powers novel but the story started to get really entertaining, witty and even somewhat sensual as soon as Trystan der Lancre made his entrance - and in an old fashioned bookstore no less! 🖤

Rubino clearly knows how to write teenage romance and intriguing characters. I also loved the witchy twist and that she captured the town of Salem in a way that makes you want to visit it and roam it's historically beautiful streets. The deep friendship between the two 'weird' girls of the school is also endearing and life goals.
.
Something Wicked ends in a way that makes it clear that book two will take on some of the mysteries left unsolved and one of the main characters' life on the brink of death.
Can't wait for the story to continue and learn more about everyone's past!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for granting my wish.
