This was a nice, easy read and I enjoyed the characters of Sam and Ryan, though I felt the descriptions of their constant barbs and tiffs got repetitive, and the ending, while lovely, was rather predictable.

I throughly enjoyed this book and will try to pick it up once published.

Sam goes home with her first one-night-stand only to meet him again the next morning when Ryan starts working for her company. Awkward. They try to sweep it under the rug but their attraction to each other is still there. Will it end in happily-ever-after or in misery?

As a lover of romance this was definitely a good book for me, especially with Valentine’s Day just around the corner. It was a quick and easy read that I didn’t want to put down.

My only complaint about this book was Ryan... I don’t know how many time Sam had to reassure him that she wasn’t into her ex, or that he was failing the company. I get that characters can have flaws but it seemed very one note.

I could not stop reading. I thought it looked cute. I needed a light book after a more emotional and intense book. I stayed up way too late and am way too tired now, but I am not at all sorry. I could not put it down. The story sucked me in in the first chapter and didn't stop. I was emotionally invested in the characters, in the company and the work they do and just needed to know how things turned out. This is the best rom-com I have read in months and will definitely be pressing it into my friends hands.

4,5 ⭐️

I really loved this book. I enjoyed the writing style and the main characters were very cute!

I was a bit scared I wouldn’t like the reversed roles but I did! I also loved Ryan’s vulnerabilities and insecurities, although, yes, sometimes it was too much but I really understood where he came from. Ryan was a great character with a great heart, he was so sweet and nice, I love him! Sunshine Sam just seemed a very optimistic and independent person, definitely very likable! I loved them as a couple since they are so different but worked great together! Lastly, Lucas and Ryan’s relationship was awesome and I just wish there were more moments between them.

Overall, a great book that made me a bit teary sometimes, but very cute indeed!

I thought that this was a good story and I did really enjoy it!

The story was easy to read and I thought that the plot was well developed too and I liked that the story was one you could relate too. The only minor criticism I have at all was that it was a little slow in places and that detracted from the lovely flow that the author had built up in the story. She has a lovely writing style which shone though in the book.

It is 4 stars from me for this one, I thought that the characters were well developed and enjoyable and I will be keeping any eye out for the author's next release! Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed the book! I had to say that I was a little worried that at any moment, something would happen to cause the leads to lose faith in the other, or believe in themselves even less and I loved that it never happened. The other show never dropped! No mishaps, no crosses wires; nothing. And I am so here for it!!! This was both a fast and slow burn for me and kept me rushing to finish the book!

This book is a breath of fresh in the Romance world!! I've been reading for 35+ years and I've yet to read a romance book where the main couple isn't incredibly beautiful, smart, stereotypically perfect, and either broken beyond belief or alpha in all ways. I've read the cute attempts to make one or the other seem broken but beautiful and fixable if only they had the right person or overly confident and a player but they do a 180 when they finally meet HER...but Freeman had a totally new approach. She wrote about a NORMAL couple who are decent looking but by no means perfect. Ryan is relatively handsome by normal standards, smart, and totally socially awkward/brutally honest not because he's a loner weirdo but because he's just normal. He has a broad range of feelings, he doubts himself in some areas and is proud of others, he has trouble making friends like the majority of adults, he doesn't always say the suave correct thing but he's quick to apologize and make it right...Sam is not a size 4 with bouncy hair and perfect poise. She is striving for better but aware that she isn't the only one pushing her company forward, she is stubborn but willing to admit she's wrong, she is a real human and not a typical romance novel seductress. I thought the storyline was fun, flirty, and an easy read. I did feel like the back and forth went a little long between the major conflict and the resolution but that's just preference and not a hit against Freeman or the book. I'd definitely recommend the book and will be looking into Ms. Freeman and any other books she has out!

So I am yet again disagreeing with the majority..I wont give it a 2 because I dont think it is as bad as all that, I normally dont give something that was not cheating (which I truly truly detest) a two. but it will not be more than a 3, and we pushed to get to that. So while I enjoy some assholes this was was a whiner, I got it due you didn't have the best life but that doesn't mean you have to go thru your whole life crying about it, you better yourself and give yourself a better chance. Ryan, was an ass to everyone so I understand why people didn't care for him, and I probably would have stayed away if no one, no one liked him. Kathryn was the boss and she has a one-night with this guy and lo and behold he is now an employee and I could have seen her falling for him if was nice, but again wasn't. Kathryn as a CEO I would have expected her to be a kick-ass strong woman, but I did not get that from her.

The New Guy by Kathryn

Sam Huxton is not one to do a one night stands let alone with a man she’s just met but the hottie at the bar is to hard to resist. With no names, no numbers nothing really shared between them San chucks this night up to too much drinking and grief that's let her to do something so out of character. All is well until the same guy walks into Sam’s life the next day as her new employee.

5/5 Stars!!!
I LOVED this story so much. It's a feel good, heart warmer that will have you rooting for both of these characters pretty much two pages in. I could not put it down it was that good. Refreshing contemporary romance at its best!

If you liked The Hating Game, this book is for you!

Girl has fun, sexy one night stand with a stranger and then shows up to work the next day to find it's her new employee. Guy is gruff-but-emotional and clearly has his own ~issues~ to work through. This is one of those stories where the whole time you're waiting on them to get together and there's a ton of obstacles along the way.

Solid, cute read!

This was a cute, easy romance to read. The relationship between Sam and Ryan is a slight twist on the usual office romance. I was very curious to see how the author was going to develop a relationship between the two characters: "the boss" and "the employee" without turning it into a sexual harassment case. I really liked Sam's character. At times, however, I found Ryan to be a bit 'too broody' although overall the two had decent chemistry. The book is set in England which is a plus for me! Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a light, fun romance to read.

Sam is having a rough day so she stops in a pub to have a drink and forces the sullen guy sitting next to her to chat. Then she brings the sullen guy home with her for an out of character one night stand. When she reports to work the next day she certainly doesn’t expect to learn that the sullen guy is named Ryan and he is her newest employee and she really needs him for her company to stay in business.

Ryan is a bit of an a-hole. In his opinion he speaks his mind which really means he frequently says horrible things to others without thinking about them. It surprisingly he has a difficult time getting along with his new coworkers. More surprising, I adored him. Oh I groaned when he said something cringeworthy and frequently wanted to smack him but he also made me chuckle and want to take care of him and all of his insecurities. Sam was strong and smart and dealing with the betrayal of her last relationship. I got a little tired of the frequent rehashing of all of her issues and reasons her attraction to Ryan were wrong but I got that these would be complicated issues to navigate and tried to stop being so easily irritated. The two of them try to focus on work but and, while we know how that will end up, reading about them discovering their feelings was lovely. You could feel them learning to appreciate each other. This was a really fantastic read one one I know I will revisit.

I really enjoyed this book, following both Sam and Ryan on their journeys. A heart warming love story and so so so much more. Betrayal, family problems, business, friendship, secrets.

It was written to the perfect pace and with believable dialogue the whole way through. Relatable and funny!

The plot was alive enough to keep me hooked from start to finish.

I would recommend this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Sam meets Ryan at a bar one night and has a one night stand. She thinks she will never see this man again and then she finds out when she gets to work that he is her newest employee that she had not yet met with. It is a completely awkward situation as the two are still clearly attracted to each other but cannot cross that line of boss/employee relationship. The point of view switches between Sam and Ryan often and can get a little confusing because it just happens randomly. I am more familiar with a new chapter or a header when the point of view is changing. The plot seemed to drag a little to me but still had some interesting parts. This one was just "OK" to me. 3.5 stars.
This is a cute story of two people who have a one night stand, who discover that he is her new employee.

Sam and Ryan were so great together. They had really wonderful chemistry and I really appreciated how they were there for each other in difficult moments and helped each other overcome hurdles. Theirs wasn't a "you're hot let's get together" kinda romance and I really enjoyed seeing them grow in their feelings for each other.

This book had such loveable characters. It was a fun, fast-paced, easy read.. Hope you enjoy!!!

I wasn't sure at the start of the book whether it was going to be too spicy for my taste, however as it went on it proved to concentrate on the romance, rather than just the seed.
After a one night stand Sam discovered that the anonymous stranger that she spent the night with was actually a new employee at her company. A change from the normal male CEO being involved with a female member of staff it was well written how the two totally different characters, both with issues from previous relationships, managed their working relationship and possible furthering of their romance.

Sam doesn't do one-night stands, especially not with men she's just met! But the hot guy in the bar is too much for her to resist. One night is all they share - no names, no numbers, just some much needed fun. It's all fun until the same guy walks into Sam's life as her new employee! She's clear that an office fling is off limits, but one thing leads to another and Sam wonders if she can trust her heart and her business with the new guy.

The chemistry is off the charts and Ryan is a total swoon. I laughed out loud and couldn't put this book down! Such a sweet romance and a heart warming book. It was an easy and sometimes predictable read. I was pleased overall with this story.
