Robin's latest book is wonderful. She's captured my attention once again. I had a hard time putting it down and was sorry when I finished it. I can't recommend "The Country Guesthouse" highly enough.

THE COUNTRY GUESTHOUSE is a charming small-town women's fiction with strong messages of familial and romantic love. Hannah's BFF has just died, leaving her custody of her five-year-old son, Noah. Hannah is taking maternity leave from her high stress but high paying job and needs to figure out how to best take care of Noah and reorganize her life. Considering she just dumped her fiance when she came home early to find him sleeping with her assistant, Hannah is not sure about all her next steps.

When Hannah decides to bring Noah to a cabin on vacation for a few weeks, they soon run into the owner who is staying in the renovated barn, Owen and his dog, Romeo. Noah immediately clicks with Romeo, and the four are soon bonding over shared experiences and care. Hannah knows she will need to head back to her house, but then Owen asks her to stay a little longer and see where things could go. Soon, Hannah is rethinking her life, what is important, and what she wants out of it. All while caring for the absolutely charming Noah.

Owen himself has a difficult past, and it was interesting to hear his story and see how he forges forward with Hannah and Noah. The romance was slow building, and it was lovely to see them grow closer emotionally long before anything physical. Noah definitely steals the show here, as he is absolutely lovely. Hannah is a strong character who really has great dimensionality and is interesting to follow.

While the writing can feel a little lofty at times, it adds to the idyllic charm of the town, the people, and the characters. I really enjoyed this lovely read and would recommend for people who are looking for a heartwarming women's fiction.

Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.

THE COUNTRY GUESTHOUSE is Book #5 in the Sullivan's Crossing series, but it can certainly be read as a stand-alone. Reading the previous books in this series, however, may enhance your enjoyment because many of our favorite characters are brought back to life.

It seems like each time I read one of Robyn Carr's novels, it becomes my favorite. Not sure if that's because her writing just keeps getting better and better or if the emotions are so fresh in my mind from the latest book. Whatever it is, I absolutely LOVED this book! I cried (real tears streaming down my cheeks!), I smiled and I got those wonderful tingles that happen when you read the romance as it develops between Hannah and Owen. Ohmigosh! I loved Owen! He's not the hunky, muscular, sexy type, but in my opinion he is the perfect man. There was so much emotion in this book! The sadness over the death of Hannah's best friend, meeting the sweet and personable Noah, seeing Noah's joy as he meets Romeo... I could go on and on but I don't want to give away any spoilers.
