I would like to thank Leslie North for another great series of Seal men and the ladies in their lives. I loved how Gage was weary at 1st of Kylie and same with Kylie and him.
I was wondering what Kylie or Gage was hiding if anything. But as the story carried on, I loved how they both couldn't live without each other or the twins due to Kylie's sister and Gage's best friend's accident.
Can't wait to read more Leslie North books coming up.
Gage is a former Navy Seal and now has custody of twins. Which for him is a shock but he is working at it. Then an aunt of the twins shows up at his doorstep wanting to be involved in the raising of the twins. Gage even though reluctant accepts Kylie’s help. Both feel an attraction to each other but do not act upon it. But things do heat up when she and the twins are attacked at a local park and Gage goes into high protective mode. Like some of the other books, it just takes him a while to commit. Overall a good book.
The story and action felt a bit stale. I didn't feel any sort of compulsion to read just one more chapter. I found the characters kind of annoying and their chemistry was very "meh" and not horribly.
In the end I put the book down to go to bed one evening and realised a week later I hadn't thought about finishing it. DNF
Gage’s life has changed so much in a months as he struggles to become a father to twins. Being named as a guardian was a way to honor his best friend after an unfortunate accident killed him. As he processes his new way of life, Kylie the towns missing Aunt returns and unknowingly brings a life filled with incidents that threaten her safety. Great ending to the series.
Gage, ex Navy Seal, is named guardian to twins when his best friend and his wife die in an accident. Gage has no idea how to raise infants, but he is learning and does the best he can. The twins Aunt Kylie enters the picture as their only relative, and wonders why she was not named as their guardian. As the two of them come together for the sake of the twins, things between them heat up. As they are getting to know each other, dangerous occurrences start happening to Kylie. Their story has a happy ending as they wade through their learning process of raising babies, fighting their growing attraction and an unknown assailant. ** I was gifted "Guarding His Unexpected Twins"** My review is based on my reading 3.5 Stars!
Once in a while I really need a Leslie North book. Warm up on a cozy read. This time about Gage, an ex Navy SEAL, who has been given custody over the baby twins of his best friend. While trying to get used to being a single dad overnight, a moody girl stands before his door.
Kylie couldn't believe it when she found out that her beloved sister and husband have left their twins in the care of a stranger. Determined to make sure her nephew and niece are well taken care of, she decides to stay with Gage for a while.
While trying to get to know each other, Kylie realizes that not only her sister was trying to prevent to hurt her sister (because Kylie is not able to become pregnant herself), but also that Gage is actually a wonderful father. He even wants to have more children of his own as well.
But because Kylie can't have children, and lost a lot of boyfriends due to her affliction, she isn't ready to fall for Gage. For what will happen if her learns she's not able to conceive? Just when she wants to leave, the children and she are attacked in a park. Who would want to hurt them? With Gage going into Navy Seal battle mode, they need to decide how to proceed to avoid a crush of hearts.
Suspense, drama, fun and laughter. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the third.book in a series, but it reads well.as.a.stand alone. In fact I haven't read.the others and have no idea as to the connection. I liked Gage alot, it takes a lot of patience and energy with twins! I can't imagine being a single.but one moment and then the guardian of twins the next. Kyle was ok. I didn't get great vibes from her, and it was pretty predictable. I was surprised though, as this has lots of errors and Leslie Norths books are usually pretty edit free. This didn't blow me away. I rate it a 3.
I received an e-copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Former SEAL Gage Winters finds himself a single father after he becomes guardian of his childhood friend's set of twins after the friend and his wife's sudden tragic death. He then finds himself with a roommate when his his friend's wife's sister Kylie shows up on his doorstep fresh off a red-eye flight from a job in Japan, wanting not only to be in the twins' lives, but as well to fight for custody of them. When a surprising threat follows her and puts her and the twins at risk, Gage's natural protective instincts amp up, as does his desire to become "something more" with Kylie.
Having now read all three books in the SEAL Endgame miniseries, I have to say this one was my least favourite, hands down. The action was a bit stale, the overall situation predictable, and other than finishing it to see if it redeemed itself, I didn't feel any sort of compulsion to read just one more chapter. I didn't mind the characters all that much, but their chemistry was very "meh" and not horribly "hot". On their own they were ok, but I didn't feel like their chemistry was anything to write home about.
3 stars.
Always loved Leslie North books, you never know what is around the corner! Loved the characters and storyline. Read many about "SEALS", before to damsels in distress for sure.
GUARDING HIS UNEXPECTED TWINS is the 3rd title in the SEAL Endgame series. It is intense with a gripping plot that will have you flipping pages quickly. What you need to know before picking up this story can be found in the Cover Description. What you won’t find there is the sense of danger that is constantly in the background, the sexiness of this couple, and the adorableness of two babies who are innocent in all of this adult stuff going on.
Kylie and Gage work well together as a couple, after a bit of a rocky start. The pull toward each other intensifies after she and the twins are attacked, now Gage will defend those that he loves and get answers to far too many questions. I enjoyed my time in this world and made GUARDING HIS UNEXPECTED TWINS the clear favorite story in this series.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Gage was a Seal! When a mission went bad he decided to give it up. Good thing to, when his best friend and wife are killed he gains custody of twins. Very young twins! Kylie is the aunt who doesn’t understand why her sister would leave custody of her niece and nephew to a Seal. Can Gage and Kylie get along enough to care for the twins? What does Kylie know that endangers them all?
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley
This was just ok for me personally. I enjoyed the writing style and the characters were likable enough but I wasn't blown away. I enjoyed it for a quick read but didn't find myself falling in love. I'd give another read by this author a go however.
**I received a copy of Guarding His Unexpected Twins from Relay Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions were not solicited in anyway.**
Guarding His Unexpected Twins by Leslie North is the third book in her SEAL Endgame Book 3 was a quick read on Gage and Kylie and the twins left to him by his former teammate Tucker. Little does he know that Kylie Fredericks the twins aunt is flying home to care for the babies too.
Gage Winters retired from the SEALs after his last mission that went FUBAR and is working security but when his best friend Tucker and his wife are killed but he's settling in to being a dad. But what he doesn't know is that danger is following Kylie back from Japan where she may have taken a photo of something illegal while working as a Feng Shui Consultant. So when her computer was stolen while at the park with the twins Gage will do whatever is needed to help her find the culprit and when she's kidnapped he'll realize how important she's become to him.
There is a side story about Kylie's medical condition and its handled with great care plus will play a part in the finale.
Former Navy SEAL Gage Winters suddenly has custody of adorable twins after a childhood friend and his wife are killed. As he is adjusting to life as a new father when the babies’ gorgeous aunt, Kylie Fredericks, shows up at his doorstep, determined to play a role in the babies’ lives, Gage accepts her offer to help and offers to let her stay with them temporarily.
Initially Kylie doesn't understand why her sister chose Gage as the twin’s guardian, but after being around him with the twins she soon realizes just how good a father he is. But when Gage casually mentions how he would eventually like to have more kids that is something that Kylie knows is not an option for her.
When Kylie and the twins are attacked in a park, Gage’s protective instincts go into high gear. Gage and Kylie will do whatever they can to keep the babies safe. But along the way feelings grow between them. Is there a chance for them to become one big, happy family?
A wonderful and emotional read, great story, classic Leslie at her best, heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Fast paced and addictive reading
The third book in the SEAL Endgame series, Guarding His Unexpected Twins, is a heart breaking and heart fulfilling read. I loved the story and felt the connection of the characters. A wonderful read and one I recommend you pick up and read for yourself.
I didn't finish. I hate to admit it, because I don't usually give up, but I realized when I was skimming through the middle, I should just cut my losses. I've read this author before, but the one I read before this was just fair, so I may give up. There were errors in this one. The occasional I can forgive, but when there are more than just typos, I get annoyed. I really hate being so rough, but it just didn't hold my interest.
After the death of his best friend and his wife, Gage Winters is given custody of their twins. Kylie Fredericks, the wife’s sister, shows up one night to keep an eye on Gage. She wants to make sure he will make a good parent and try to find out why she wasn’t given custody of the children. This causes a lot of tension and arguments between them at first but an incident at the park changes things.
This was a quick read filled with love, danger and crying babies. I liked Gage and Kylie's relationship and the trials they faced.
This was a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy of books. A quick read but entertaining enough. Thanks to netgalley for the arc.
This was a good read. It took me a while to warm up to Kylie though. There was just something about her that didn’t draw me in.
