Thank you Netgalley for the arc copy of this book. It was a great thriller. A woman is on her way to work on the subway when another frenzied woman says her name and hands her her baby before taking her own life and falling in front of the train. It follows both main characters (the woman who handed her baby away and jumped, and the woman who received the baby). Soon the woman who received the baby is thrown into an investigation and thought to have pushed the other woman. In the “before” timeline we follow the mom and what led her to the day where she gave her baby away and then jumped. This was a fast paced and edge of the seat thriller. It had me guessing who done it the whole time. I highly recommend it!

This is so good!! Not formulaic in any way! Original suspense is rare and this story has you guessing right from the start. You want to believe Morgan but then you are unsure, Nicole’s choice makes absolutely no sense but you turn the pages to learn why...This title is one of those rare suspense books I would give as a gift saying #mustread!! And note to self- stand back from the edge.

A beautifully written book. Just goes to show how people can manipulate others into doing and saying terrible things. I think had I been in a better place myself I would of read this book quite quickly..

“Woman on the Edge” was gripping! From the very first page I was hooked and could not put it down. It gave such an interesting perspective on postpartum mental health. The way the author brings the characters’ stories together was so well-written. This story kept me on the edge until the very end.

Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy of Wonen on the Edge in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this ride if a thriller! I really felt the anguish the Nicole felt throughout the story. I also liked Morgan’s character. I predicted who the culprit was in the story before it was revealed but I was second guessing as I was reading. Nice job as a debut novel! I will look out in the future to more Samantha Bailey books.

Thank you to netgalley for the opportunity to read this advance copy. I enjoyed the book. I think it’s a lightweight for the category, but not every book I read needs to win the Booker Prize. And I read both of those winning works for fiction directly prior to this book. A lightweight book doesn’t mean that the reader won’t encounter tragedy and ugly characters. There aren’t any significant twists which takes some steam out of the book. The author doesn’t let the reader spend enough time pondering “who done it”. She has the characters tell each other. I suspected two characters early on. Still, the “relationship” between Nicole and Morgan is well written. I only wish the reader could, have discovered what drove Nicole instead of being told.

I found this book to be a bit slow to get into, but about halfway through it definitely picks up. Nicole is an accomplished business woman with a new baby, but as things around her start going wrong, she triggers back to an episode in her past.

I dislike spoilers, so I can’t go into much detail. If you enjoy thrillers with a “gaslight” feel, this is a good choice for you.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author and NetGalley, my opinions are my own and given freely.

First of all, thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a review on this book.

This book had so much anxiety packed into this that I felt my own skin crawl a couple of times. Being a mother, I felt my old thoughts coming back to me from having post-partum and I do hope the author wanted the reader to feel the sadness and loneliness that is associated with this, even if you never had it.

This book goes back and forth from two narratives; one from Nicole, the now dead mother, that is set in the past and the other narrative is from Morgan, the woman whom Nicole entrusted on taking care of her child. Now get this, they were total strangers. Were they really though?

The reason on why this book is only getting 4/5 stars is because it fell a tad flat at the end when the story was wrapping up. It seemed a tad too rushed.

I’d love to read more from the author nonetheless and I will definitely recommend this.

I loved this book! I can't believe it was Samantha Bailey's debut novel (correction, her debut novel in this genre) ! This book pulled me in right at the beginning and continued right through to the end! A successful business woman, Nicole Markham, is struggling with her role as a new mother! She's dealing with postpartum psychosis and extreme fear. This part of the book really hit me, as I have had some hard times after the birth of my children. Then you have Morgan Kincaid, a widow who is dealing with her desire to be a mother. Their lives collide when Morgan is on her way home from work, on the subway platform, and Nicole approaches her and says "Take my baby", "I know what you want" and places the baby in her arms before she tragically jumps In front of the train. Things after that spiral our of control for Morgan. It was twisty and fun! Intense!! Definitely binge worthy!!
.
Told in multiple POV and timelines made this book so suspenseful! I loved the writing and couldn't wait to find out what was going on!! I can't wait to read more by Samantha Bailey!

Thank you to the publisher Simon & Schuster and netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review!!

Woman on the Edge was an intense psychological thriller with a harrowing premise: What if a woman on the subway platform hands you her baby, then jumps in front of a train? The first half of the book was strong and I couldn't tear myself away. Unfortunately, I found the second half to be too far-fetched and the ending a little too neat.

I'm not a fast reader. And yet, once I picked this book up, I could not put it down.

The suspense and tension is near-perfect. Near-perfect. Ms. Bailey's characters are flawed, human, fully formed. Nothing is left out. I began to suspect everyone. No one was safe.

Two flawed women. One perfect child. Courage. Terror. Determination.

Read it.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book.

How do you not know your husband is cheating everyone out of their life savings? How do you deal with the aftermath? Morgan Kincaid’s husband did just that and eventually to the easy way out when caught, committing suicide. Everyone thinks Morgan surely knew but truth is, she had no idea. All she ever wanted in life was a family. Ryan had taken this from her; she was merely a means to an end.

How to build a yoga clothing empire then spiral downhill after the birth of your child. Nicole built Breathe from the ground up yet she could barely take care of she and baby Quinn while on maternity leave!

Make sure your affairs are in order when you become a mother, to include a will! Because you never know just who you can trust. People will do anything to get what’s yours, husband, baby, and your business/company included.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was hooked on this book from the very first chapter. The events described right off the bat suck you in and you just have to find out what caused them to happen. The author gives you just enough in each chapter to keep you interested but not so much that you are able to figure out the mystery until very close to the end of the book. By the last couple chapters, I thought I knew who the guilty party was but could not figure out the motive until the author exposed it near the end of the book. So if you're looking for an edge of your seat mystery thriller that will keep you guessing until the end, try this book. I loved it and will definitely be looking for the author's second book when it comes out.

This was a debut book by a very talented author in psychological suspense. The book started out at 100 miles per hour and did not let up. The author did a great job In present day and then relaying the backup story. I love this book and can’t wait for her next one. I would highly recommend this book. I already texted a coworker that she needs to read this one next and I was only 20% done! #WomanOnTheEdge #SamanthaMBailey #NetGalley

4.5 stars. Fantastic debut!!!

A moment on the platform changes two lives forever. But nothing is as it seems...

'Take my baby.'

In a split second, Morgan's life changes forever. A stranger hands her a baby, then jumps in front of a train.

Morgan has never seen the woman before and she can't understand what would cause a person to give away her child and take her own life.

What a fast, fantastic, thrilling read! I read it in just a few hours. Could not put it down.

This was a really fast paced read and I kind of get that I knew who the bad person was early on, but it was a lot of fun watching the story unfold. Very well told and original.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.

The premise of this mystery is unique. A woman (Morgan) is standing on a subway platform. Suddenly, another woman (Nicole) thrusts a baby into her arms and jumps (or is pushed) in front of a train. The story goes back into the history of each of these woman and whether this exchange was planned or happened by chance.

Consider, also, Morgan's situation. She's minding her own business and now the police suspect her of murder! Is she guilty?

You have to read to the end to find out!!

Morgan Kincaid’s life has already been set in a tailspin from her deceased husband’s dealings and all she wants is for her life to be normal again. But while waiting on the platform for the train, a frantic woman she’s never met before shoves her small infant in Morgan’s arms and asks her to take care of her baby. Then, in an instant, Morgan’s life changes forever when the woman falls in front of the moving train. Soon, Morgan finds herself a suspect in the woman’s death as strange details come to light. Desperate to clear her name, she begins to unravel the woman’s last days before she died to prove her innocence. But unraveling the web of deceit and lies is more difficult that Morgan could have ever imagined.

Woman on the Edge is a tightly-woven, edge-of-the-seat psychological thriller that you will not be able to put down. The twists and turns in this story will keep you guessing until the very end. A brilliantly written debut novel by the talented Samantha M. Bailey, this novel is a must-read for all thriller fans.

I was super excited to receive this one as an ARC. I found myself sneaking in reading time to catch up with the madness that was consuming Nicole post delivery of her unplanned for but nevertheless deeply wanted baby girl, Quinn. As the story takes on alternate time lines that detail the road to madness, we also meet Morgan Kincaid.
Morgan is a widow with nothing left to show for her life when her husband commits suicide as he is exposed for the white collar criminal that he was. Damaged both emotionally and financially, she stands on a train platform when a stranger comes up and presses her baby in her arms. Moments later the woman is dead. Suicide or murder and Morgan is once again thrust into the limelight of an investigation she wants no part of. But she does want that baby.
Great idea that at times was rocky in the development of the story. Too much stretching of the imagination for me such as the immediate romantic connections between characters. But overall was an entertaining read. I'm looking forward to seeing what is next for author Samantha M. Bailey.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a review.

This was a very enjoyable debut thriller. Although highly unbelievable, it was fast paced and entertaining. While I had my suspicions about who was really who was tormenting Nicole early, there were still a few unexpected twists. Thanks to NetGalley for the digital ARC.
