Four full of action, thrilling, anxious, riveting, oh boy this book really makes you face with your own inner demons stars!

When I see the title, I just started to visualize a woman is standing at the roof of the skyscraper (This kind of suicidal act reminded me of two movie: Jax Teller a.k.a Charlie Hunnam’s “Ledge” and Sam Worthington`s –what’s the problem with all those hot Brit guys to accept depressing suicidal guy roles –“Man on a ledge”) but instead of that we got a powerful Ceo’s jumping on train rails (House of Cards’ season 2: surprising Zoe execution kind of scene! But Kaiser Soze didn’ push her, she did it by herself) Yess, it’s fast and mind bending!
The book starts with one of the protagonist’s ( Nicole) dying scene which makes you jump from your seat. She holds her baby to gives her baby to the other protagonist a.k.a Morgan, a defeated, exhausted woman because of the embezzlement case of her husband who also ended his life recently. So Nicole’s last words were pleading to Morgan to keep her baby safe and BOOOM! She is hit by a train!

So this is a fast paced book with so much conspiracy, surprises, twists , is told by one dead and one living characters ( we’re moving back and forth between Nicole’s facing her past. She feels responsible and suffers from guilt feelings about a baby’s death when she was working as her baby-sitter. She is pregnant and gets death threats from the mother of the child. The threats started to endanger her baby’s safety and so she needs to do something to protect her.

And we also catch glimpses of Morgan’s present life after she witnessed Nicole’s death and she already added Morgan in her will as the guardian of her baby. Before she died she called Morgan with her name but they haven’t met before which makes the police officers more suspicious about Morgan’s motives (They already accused her know everything about her husband’s embezzlement scheme! But she denied her involvement!) So what is gonna happen? It seems like Nicole’s death didn’t solve the threat problems against the baby and now Morgan’s life in danger. You want to know what is gonna happen? Don’t be lazy ass, just read it!

This is remarkable, thrilling, heart throbbing page turner and I fully recommend it to the readers who like action, mysterious, fast pacing thrillers.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Simon&Schuster to share this mind blowing, fantastic ARC COPY with me in exchange my honest review. And I congratulate Samantha M. Bailey to create this compelling worj. I cannot wait to read more of her works.

I received an ARC #WomanOnTheEdge from Simon & Schuster and #NetGalley for my honest opinion of this book.

From the first page, I was drawn in by the characters and plot of this book. Nicole, a power driven executive and owner of her own company and Morgan, a Shelter worker, lives intertwine in an intriguing manner that will keep you turning the pages of this thriller. It was very well written and character development was well done. I figured who the culprit was 3/4 way through the book but still I wanted to keep reading to find how the author sewed it all together.

Excellent book in my opinion. Will look for this author again.

I find it hard to believe this is a debut book! Well written and holds your interest! A stress out stranger insists Morgan take her baby! Then the stranger commits suicide in front of Morgan after thrusting the baby into her arms. As police arrive the baby is taken away and Morgan is shocked to remember the woman called her by name. This virtual stranger asked her to keep her baby safe don't let harm come to this precious child. The story is told by two woman, the baby's mother, Nicole and Morgan. Traveling back and forth between the past and present easily. Lots of mystery, danger and intrigue to keep you totally involved in the mystery that is playing out. Highly recommend this exciting novel that will keep you wondering who is good who is bad. Thank you to the author Samantha M. Bailey, NerGalley and the publishers Simon & Schuster for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Well worth your time to read!

This book started off with an amazing hook—a distraught mother (Nicole) shoves her baby at a stranger (Morgan) that she seems to know and then falls to her death in front of a train. It makes you want to read on—what would cause such desperation? How does Nicole know Morgan, even though Morgan has never met her? What will Morgan do now, that she’s entrusted with this baby?

And while I did read this book quickly—it does, admittedly, have page-turning appeal—it seems I’m in the minority for how much I actually liked it. Maybe it’s the current spate of books featuring women who are desperate for a child, but Morgan’s story rang hollow. I get that she would want to see baby Quinn safe, but her quick obsession with her is a little creepy for my tastes. And as another reviewer mentioned, she acts a bit rash and ridiculous—I’d have found a way to commit her to house arrest if I were her lawyer. Nicole’s behavior is also so over the top it borders on the unbelievable and the ending wraps up far too conveniently. I’m also a bit over female characters screaming and shrieking all their lines.

I will most likely look up the next book from this author, because, though this one didn’t hit the mark I was looking for, I did like her premise and great pacing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for a review.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Canada for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

Morgan Kincaid is stunned when on her way home from work, as she waits for the subway train, a distraught woman calls her by name and tosses a young infant into her arms. The woman tells Morgan to keep the baby safe. Then, the woman jumps to the tracks committing suicide. Shortly after, Morgan discovers the woman was the CEO of a successful atheleisure company. Morgan is still recovering from her husband’s suicide and his financial crimes. Now, she is involved in another complicated situation being investigated by the police.

The book is really about two women, Morgan and Nicole, and one infant, Quinn. Both women are likable. Their pasts include some poor choices, including the men they chose to marry. Morgan is a survivor and works hard at it. Nicole, after the birth of her daughter, spirals down into a dark place of depression, paranoia, and panic attacks. Friends and sometimes family members are not always as genuine as they seem. Sometimes a strong support system is hard to find. I liked this book because there were a number of well developed characters that were involved with one or both of the two main female characters. This made it difficult to determine, early in the story, who might be the one or ones with criminal motives. It made this book interesting, all the way to the conclusion. I liked not being able to figure out the conclusion too early when reading this mystery/thriller. The connection between Morgan and Nicole is not revealed until the end of the book. At that time it is understandable why Nicole asks Morgan to care for her baby, before she commits suicide.

Thank you to NetGalley for a Kindle ARC of Woman on the Edge.

Woman on the Edge had an interesting premise; a widow with a past is approached by a distraught young woman with a newborn on a subway platform, handing her the baby before she commits suicide. What a scary and horrifying scenario.

Unfortunately, I found it difficult to get drawn into the story, mostly because there were one too many times in which I had to suspend disbelief.

I just couldn't believe a woman, no matter how mentally ill or depressed would entrust her baby to a stranger she met online!

As some reviewers noted, there were also one too many twists (for the sake of shocking the reader) that required powers of disbelief I do not possess.

I also did not like or sympathize with any of the characters, character development was weak and the standard tropes in books like these were everywhere; unreliable narrator, a cad of a husband/lover/significant other, shady friends/relatives, narrator hiding a secret from her past, a happy ending in which the main character finds herself a man.

Woman on the Edge lacked suspense and believable characters, but the writing was decent and it was a quick read.

Woman on the Edge is fast-paced and really pulls you in, forcing you to feel the paranoia and distress of the narrators. The major issue I had was that there are lots of twists (just for the sake of twists?) and some of them are a little far-fetched.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publishers for allowing me to read this ARC.

This book was nonstop twists and turns!
At every incident that occurred by the next page it evolved into something else.
I had to read until I finished.
Good character development- and it was hard to tell where the next event would take us-
I would recommend this book to those who love a good psychological suspense novel.

Woman on the edge is a fast paced debut thriller that keeps the reader on pins and needles throughout. Is Nicole an unreliable narrator? Why would she give her child to someone she’s never met? There is much more than meets the eye in this one. A quick enjoyable read with a great cast of both good and evil characters!

I was so excited to read Woman on The Edge by Samantha M. Bailey after seeing my author friends rave about it. Once I got the book in my hands, I read it quickly- it lived up to the great hype!

I loved the writing style which is quick and snappy, what you want in a thriller. People who love to read psychological thrillers are going to devour this novel.

In a split second, Morgan’s life changes forever. A stranger hands her a baby, then jumps in front of a train. Morgan has never seen the woman before and she can’t understand what would cause a person to give away her child and take her own life. When the police question Morgan, she discovers none of the witnesses can corroborate her version of events. And when they learn Morgan longs for a baby of her own, she becomes a suspect.

To prove her innocence, Morgan frantically tries to retrace the last days of the woman’s life. She begins to understand that Nicole Markham believed she and her baby were in danger. Now Morgan might be in danger, too. Was Nicole a new mother struggling with paranoia? Or was something much darker going on?

This book pulls you from the beginning and there is suspense on every page. I kept guessing what was going to happen, I literally couldn’t put Woman on the Edge down until I finished it.

Coming out on June 1, 2020 Pre-Order here!

I devoured this book in ONE day!! I’ve read over 50 thrillers in the past year, and this one is at the very top of my list! I loved everything about this story- the characters, the way the story weaves two different perspectives, and the fact that I couldn’t predict the shocking ending!! This book needs to be made in to a movie! I will be telling everyone about this book. I am so thankful I had a chance to read an advanced copy.

Wow. What a great fast paced psychological thriller. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Morgan is standing on the subway platform when Nicole, who she doesn't know, hands her her baby and tells her to take care of her and then jumps to her death in front of the oncoming train. The police suspect that Morgan pushed her to her death. The book alternates between chapters of Morgan and her life and Nichole and her life before her death. The character development is very good. The largest questions are: How did Nicole know Morgan? Why would she give her her baby? Who in your life can you trust? All of these questions are answered and then some. Thank you to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster for the chance to read this ARC.

This fast-paced thriller kept me guessing until the final pages. Greed, women in power, love lost, deceit, mental health and postpartum challenges all are mixed together into a page-turning plot. Sympathy for the main characters evolves as the plot becomes more twisty and we finally get answers to the big why - did Nicole Markham, a successful CEO, hand over her baby to an apparent stranger and jump from a subway platform (which all happens in the first 2 pages.). Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. If you're looking for a page-turning mystery a la Gone Girl, this novel is for you! (And I think this will make a great movie too!)

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this e-ARC. The description definitely screamed “READ ME”! And I most definitely enjoyed this book. I started this book last night and I stayed up until 3 AM to finish it and could not put it down. The build up was intense and suspenseful. It is actually hard for me to believe that this is Samantha Bailey’s debut novel. It is absolutely amazing! With thrillers I usually try to guess the plot twist or guess who done it but yes I didn’t really see this coming. Makes you wonder who in your life you can trust. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading anything else this author may write as I can guess she will only keep getting better. 5 stars for sure!

Woman on the Edge kept me guessing until the end--I was turning the pages quickly! I was impressed with how tangled the mystery became, and glad that I wasn't able to figure it out on my own. It's a fast-paced thriller, with sympathetic characters. Read it!

When a Nicole, a young CEO of a successful athleisure clothing
company hands her infant daughter to a stranger, then leaps to her death. More questions than answers plague Morgan, the woman whose life is now entwined with Nicole's.

This book was a great read. The plot was well-developed. The characters stories were told by combining present and the past. The tension was palpable. As a reader, I never was quite sure which character I could trust.

This is an the edge of your seat read. I could not put this book down until I finished reading it.
