Morgan Kincaid is on her way home from work, just waiting for a train, when a mother begs Morgan to take her baby, then thrusts the infant into her arms. Before Morgan can stop her, the distraught mother jumps in front of an oncoming train. Morgan's never seen the woman before, yet the woman knew her name. The woman who jumped was Nicole Markham, prominent CEO of the athletic brand Breathe. When no witness can corroborate Morgan's version of events - combined with a witness confirming Nicole knew Morgan's name, which appears to demonstrate the two do have a relationship of some sort - the police are convinced Morgan's not just an innocent bystander and Nicole didn't commit suicide.

To prove her innocence, Morgan frantically retraces the last days of Nicole’s life. Was Nicole a new mother struggling with paranoia or was she in danger? A stranger handing Morgan a baby is far from the last strange thing to happen to her, and she quickly becomes convinced she may also be in danger. The story is told from Morgan's point-of-view in the present, interspersed with Nicole's point-of-view before she died.

I enjoyed this tense psychological thriller. Both points-of-view were engaging, and the story never let up with something new around every turn.

I have to be honest at first I originally read this book first on my list because I saw the publication date was getting closer. Now that I did read this, I finished it in a day. It was a good page turner. I mean it is very rare that you read a book about a woman who gives her baby to a stranger and then jumps in front of a train. I'll just leave it at that because i don't want to spoil it for you. I really loved this book Thank you to the netgalley, the author, and publishers for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review. I give it five stars

This is one psychological thriller that I am going to recommend to everyone! I co-host a book club and will be sure to add this book to our line up!

"She gave you her baby... and then she jumped." --Get ready because this is just the beginning!

This book is told from alternating points of view by a woman in the present and one in the recent past - each haunted by traumatic histories. The twists and turns this book will take you on will keep you up way past your bedtime to see how the story plays out.

Thank you to NetGalley, Simon and Schuster, and Samantha M. Bailey for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was an enjoyable read. It has a really interesting premise. I just wanted someone to protect baby Quinn. You never knew which characters to trust. Nicole's chapters were quite sad to read.

This was a fast-paced thriller that I read in only two sittings over a weekend. I enjoyed the plot development and identified with the corporate woman aspect of the main character. I also appreciated the author tackling the tough issue of post-partum depression/anxiety. I'd highly recommend it if you like thrillers and even more if you are or have been a young mother!

Nicole is a woman on the edge in more than one way. Nicole is the successful CEO of her own company. She finds herself unexpectedly pregnant. Both Nicole and her husband, Greg, seem to embrace the idea of parenthood. Nicole goes on maternity leave and suddenly her life spirals out of control. Meanwhile, Morgan is recovering from the suicide of her husband and the discover that he had bilked his customers out of their money. These customers included Morgan’s friends and relatives who blame Morgan for not knowing what was happening. Morgan is struggling to put her life back together when what she believes is a chance encounter with Nicole spins her life off balance again. This gripping plot will keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely a book to read.

"She gave you her baby... and then she jumped." -- And that's just the first few pages!
I HIGHLY recommend this one! It was an absolute page turner. Wow! It packs a punch the whole way and it doesn't waste time adding too many side stories. Two women with traumatic pasts that haunt them are unexpectedly connected in this psychological thriller that keeps the reader guessing all the way. The story is told from two POVs - one woman in the present and one woman in the the recent past. I found as much satisfaction in the ending as I did the thrilling ride. My only criticism is there's some mostly irrelevant legal pieces that don't quite make sense - legally - not really critical to the story but... lawyer reader problems.

Right off I would like to congratulate Samantha M Bailey on an awesome debut psychological thriller! The very first chapter will make you think “what the heck?” and keep you turning the pages to find out what happened that led Nicole to such a desperate act. The story gets told through a current storyline of Morgan Kincaid, a young social worker trying to recover from the scandal surrounding her husband’s recent suicide. We learn about Nicole, a young married mother who appears to have everything going for her, through a storyline leading up to the trauma of the first chapter. Following Nicole and Morgan in their chapters gives great character development of the two women. Along the way we also learn about the peripheral characters of the story and the important parts they play in the events of the story. Who to trust? Both Nicole and Morgan have to ask this question often as the twists and lies stack up against them. Definitely recommend this book for readers who love psychological or domestic thrillers. Thanks to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for an ARC of this book in return for an honest review, which this has been.. #NetGalley, #SimonandSchuster

Guys, I digested this so fast that I forgot to sleep all week. Told between the two POV’s of Nicole (past) and Morgan (present) who live worlds apart. Nicole, a full-time CEO and new mother while Morgan, a social-worker and widow - whose husband conducted a huge financial scandal. Nicole and Morgan were worlds apart in the city of Chicago. These two developed characters will lead the reader into a rollercoaster ride between two timelines. I had so much empathy for Nicole - postpartum depression is no joke! I have to give Bailey credit for how real and raw Nicole’s chapters felt (I too suffered from it after my first child). Nicole wanted nothing but to feel “normal” and keep her daughter safe. Who is she running from? I love when a book has a small cast of characters and small chapters. The small cast allowed the read to tag along with Morgan to discover what really happened to Nicole and who is trying to clean up lose ends with Morgan. There were sooo many small twists I couldn’t figure out - TRUST no one! Just when I thought I did, I was still one step behind the grand twist. Bailey’s writing style is so enticing and thrilling. As Samantha Baileys debut novel, I can’t wait to see her future projects!

Warning you will be quickly be holding your breath with this one! It became a page-turner for me, I had to have answers.
When the facts finally unfolded, I was surprised I hadn’t seen it coming!
Two hurting women, and how their paths crossed amazed me, I was really surprised, and never would have guessed.
The author has us walking in both these woman’s shoes, and we travel back and forth in their lives. Most I never saw happening, even with knowing almost from the beginning, what occurs, and hoping it isn’t true!
In the end, I became so involved in these characters lives that I wanted to have more!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Simon and Schuster, and was not required to give a positive review.

This book had me by the 2nd chapter. The mystery that this book presented, at least at first, as well as the differing points of view, kept me enthralled. This was a nice, easy read and you were able to get in the minds of both main characters, Can’t wait for more from this author..

A very captivating read especially for a debut thriller! I was engrossed from the beginning and definitely could relate to the emotional toll a newborn takes as a mother myself.

I enjoyed the two points of view and getting the history of both women combined with their present state.

The book was slow in some areas but nothing off putting and I enjoyed the twists and turns. It was well written and flowed flawlessly!

I would recommend this book to my thriller reader friends! I rate is a 3.5/5 stars!

I can not believe this is Samantha M. Bailey's debut novel!! I was hooked from the first page and didn't let go until the very end. There are so many mysteries to solve in this book! How does Nicole know Morgan? What really happened to Amanda from Nicole's past? Is Nicole suffering from postpartum depression or does it go deeper? It goes deeper, trust me!
The chapters alternate between Nicole, up to her death, and Morgan dealing with the aftermath. I have to admit that there is an extra eerie factor for me when I know a character is going to die, but until that happens you're reading about their lives up to the day that happens. Ugh!
Morgan, with the help of Nicole's brother, begin to investigate the days leading up to that day on the platform. However, someone doesn't want them to find out the truth. The truth about Nicole's past and her untimely death.
This book has so many good twists and turns. I did not think it was predictable at all. The author does such a good job of keeping the reader hooked. I was surprised at who the killer was, although now that I think about it, I shouldn't have been.
If you're looking for a fast paced, suspenseful book I would highly recommend this one.

Woman on the Edge
Rating: 4 stars

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it will not be the last. It had me at the edge of my seat from the first chapter till the very end. It's dual POV was very easy to follow. Morgan and Nicole's lives were intertwined with so much grief and desperation. In the end they both wanted to survive the past that wouldn't let them live peacefully. It was a great story and I had a hard time putting it down. I enjoyed all the twists and turns it took me through.

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for a review.

Thank you Net Galley and Simon and Schuster for this fast paced, thrilling book! I was very intrigued by this book, I kind of figured out who the main bad character was but was never fully confident of it until the ending. When people want to mess with your head, they really will. I loved Nicole and my heart went out to her, this was a real good book.

Fantastic intense thriller! Very fast paced, impossible to put down. Nicole is a powerful CEO of a successful company who seems to have it all, until she becomes a new mom and her life begins to unravel. When she hands her baby to a stranger and jumps in front of a train, her family and the stranger who held the baby try to piece together the events that lead to this tragedy. Powerful story of mental illness and backstabbing friends and family. Total nail biter with lots of twists and turns. Highly recommended.
