I found this book to be very inspirational. Very good devotional of prayers for use at any time. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

I have been going through an extremely difficult past few years — so much so that, at one point, I mentally felt myself teetering near the edge. I’m okay now, and some part of that is thanks to these little prayers. They’ve been sustaining and helpful.

These prayers are perfect for the times you can't find the words yourself. I sometimes struggle and having short prayers make life so much easier.

The prayers contained in this book were truly short, which is exactly what the title promised, so it absolutely hit the mark in that category. Each prayer felt comforting, Scripture-based, and came with a kindly voiced commentary for deeper understanding.

I really liked the format of each of these prayer sections, starting with scripture, centering around a one-paragraph long message, and ended with a prayer. I can see how this book is very comforting and uplifting, especially during difficult times

This book really wasn't for me, but that is ok. I love Nick's work from the past, but if you are a new believer and trying to find a way to start in developing your prayer life, this is a great resource to use. I am thankful for the advance reading.

Great resource to use when you don't know the "right" words to say when you are having a difficult time. I don't think I will be using it as the book suggests, one at a time, devotional style, but I will definitely be using it when I need the types of prayers that are listed.

This was an inspirational book. The balance between content and the prayer on a daily basis was successful and meaningful. I was encouraged each day my personal circumstances were altered add a result thereof.

Harrison combines devotions with prayers in this book, giving readers a Bible verse and an idea to meditate on before giving them a corresponding prayer to use. This approach makes the book a good purchase for people seeking spiritual advice as well as help praying, particularly since many of the entries focus on hardship and trials. Harrison also avoids the easy path of negating pain readers may feel in trials, giving honest advice about the fact the Bible doesn't promise Christians won't suffer, only that God will be with them in their suffering. All told, quite a good book.

Many great prayers for all manner of trials and tribulation. A few of my favorites: Follow Prayer with Praise; Guard Your Tongue; Challenge the Enemy; What Can You Learn?; Faith-Building Books; How Trouble Changes You; Wisdom; Focus on the Future; Do All Things in Love; There’s Always More.

I appreciate these prayers and affirmations as they are forward facing, looking into the future, reminders that things, no matter how bad they seem, will improve. So often, people turn to prayer in their darkest hours and forget to give thanks when life is good and the grace of God shines brightly in their lives. Following prayer with praise is a simple reminder for readers to be mindful and give thanks. As an educator asking what can I learn, the preservation of books and knowledge as the abundance of wisdom it grants all ring true to as gentle reminders to give thanks. Furthermore, on the theme of abundance, too often people get caught up in what they do not have, and a false fear of limited resources. From a spiritual perspective, it is important to remember that there is always enough, so long as you do all things in love and miracles will brighten both your lives. Pay it forward.

This is the first of Nick’s One Minute Prayer series and a wonderful introduction. The book is a welcome reminder to give thanks each day, and small miracles occur every day, not always in the time or way you may expect...

I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced copy prior to publication release, so this very well may not be relevant in the final copy. While the book is organized by themes in that similar prayers are groups together, as a quick reference guide it would be helpful to establish a table of contents and perhaps a cover page introducing each section.
