Man of the Year just happens to be the Mayor of New York who’s term is ending and he is looking to continue in the political world as Governor of the State of New York. In order to do that he needs to find a way to unseat the current governor and the current governor’s daughter maybe just the way to do that. A plan is set but little did the Mayor know how enchanting the Governor’s daughter would be.

I loved how Robert went with the plan, but he kept his integrity. He didn’t go so far as to feel like he was taking advantage of Adeline. He hired her as a party planner when his usual planner wasn’t available, felt something between them from the very beginning, and then carefully kept inserting himself into her life. You could tell he wasn’t sure what to do, he wasn’t sure how much or when to tell her that he knew who she was, and he was falling for her. I liked how careful, how respectful, and how unsure he was of what was going to happen.

Adeline, I understood that she was trying to reinvent herself but her “old” self wasn’t a bad person. The old self was someone looking for their father’s attention, looking for their father’s love, and was going about getting it in the wrong way. I loved how she had the support of her friends and didn’t back down when things got tough. She tried to do the right thing for Robert and herself but the feelings she had for him just wouldn’t let her entirely walk away.

Pick up your own copy of Yours in Scandal. The book is easy and fun to read.

I enjoyed Robert & Adeline’s story! It’s been a while since I have read a Lauren Layne book and it reminded me why I always liked her writing in the past.

Robert & Adeline had great chemistry and banter! I loved that River & Adeline were imperfectly perfect for each other.

I can’t wait to read more in this series!

This was a fun quick read and a great romantic story between Robert and Adeline! While you could tell what was going to happen it was still a great story and so heart warming! Looking forward to more in the series.

Great premise but the execution is pretty much a disappointment. I missed the old Lauren Layne. Right now her stories felt mostly regurgitated from her previous books.

This book was seriously so cute. I could not put it down.

Lauren Layne delivers with Yours in Scandal. Robert Davenport is the Man of the Year and looking to take it to the next level. His plan, to use the rival's daughter to get what he needs. Adeline Blake is just trying to live her new life under the radar but that all goes up in smoke with Robert specifically requests her company for a once in a lifetime opportunity she can't turn down.

While the initial deceit between characters is usually a turn off for me, I couldn't help but hope they would figure it out and open up to each other. The slow burn, told from dual POV, is everything you could want in the trope. The steamy moments are just that, steamy.

The rising conflict and resolution are well written with just the right amount of angst and release. Overall, Layne did a great job bringing these characters to life. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a solid slow burn.

Add a timely political story to the heat and just plain fun of a Lauren Layne title and you have this book.

I loved Robert and Adeline, I loved their connection and their passion, for all things and not one another.

Layne has a specific talent for being able to tell stories about real people you want to get to know outside of the pages of a book, and this book was no exception.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

This was a fun story that served as a perfect distraction from reality for a few hours. I’ll make sure to read the other books in this series.

This was a good slow burn, workplace romance between Robert the current mayor and the Adaline the daughter of the current governor with a wild past. It took me a few chapters, but then I was hooked. The pace was decent and I always love when there are two point s of view. The slow burn chemistry between Robert and Addie was good. It did take most of the story to get to the steamy parts, but there was definite steam! The main issue I had was communication which was unfortunately the whole issue between the couple. Overall, this was a good romance story!

Lauren Layne is bringing a new series to the romance world. Yours in Scandal is the first book in the series. We get to read about Robert and Adeline.

Robert is very known in the political world. And he has high hopes for the office. And he is more than determine to get there by being friendly to his opponent wild child, Adeline. But he needs to be careful cause Adeline will make him realize that love is more than winning.

Adeline is trying her hardest being goo. She may have been a wild child but she is finally gaining her foots. She is a wedding planner but that does not stop her from gaining attraction especially with Robert. She may be careful but falling in love is worth the risk.

I wish this book was a little longer. It was too short for my taste. I am a greedy reader that I wanted more of them than being rushed.

I love Lauren Layne's book. This one was nothing short of a fun and flirty. Robert & Adeline have a unique love story. He is the mayor of NYC and she is the daughter of the governor who has crated a new identity for herself to get away from her dad.

The characters were intriguing. The book has a great story and kept you on your toes the whole time. The flirty banter. The will they or won't they? Loved it!!!

Yours in Scandal was smile inducing and so much fun! With steamy scenes, moments that made me laugh out loud and the perfect amount of angst, this book was such a big hit! The story was effortless to devour and I finished it in no time at all. If you're looking for a flirty romance story to get lost in, definitely give this one a try!

She wasn’t for him, and he wasn’t for her. Not now, not ever.

Robert Davenport was NYC youngest mayor for the last eight years, and he had just been voted Man of the Year for a magazine like People. He was a good man who wanted what was best for the people of his city, he truly cared. Robert had aspirations to be governor, and was advised that the only way would be if he knocked down the current governor a peg or two. And what better way to get the dirt on the governor than becoming close with his estranged daughter, Adeline, who'd been hiding in plain sight.

“It’s perfect,” he said quietly, meeting her eyes, his hand dropping lower, fingertips brushing teasingly over her palm before he stepped away. “Absolutely perfect.”
The butterflies were back.
But they had nothing to do with the party.

I loved Adeline Blake, who use to be known as Adeline Brennen. She was wild in her younger years and the media had a field day with her topless photos and partying. But she seemed to disappear. And years later, she'd been hiding in plain sight, with a different last name. She was an event planner and I loved how hard she worked. Adeline was quick witted, strong and definitely held her own. She said it like it was, but you could tell that she was trying to be someone more reserved. So when Adeline got invited to plan an event for the mayor of NYC, it brought her into contact with Robert. And he offered her an invitation that she couldn't refuse.

Because when he looked at Adeline, he didn’t think of himself as the mayor. Somehow he’d turned into a goddamn Hugh Grant movie, standing in front of a girl, asking her to like him.

I absolutely loved Robert! He was thoughtful, listened and felt so down to earth. And in a world where everyone tried to use him, Adeline didn't. It was refreshing and made Robert want to be around her more. But he could also be so awkward. Especially when it came to trying to make a true friend lol. Adeline tried her best to keep Robert at arms lengths, since she didn't want to be back in the world of politics. She had already been there and done that. So Adeline could be standoffish and cold to Robert, even if she liked what she saw in him.

He lifted his hand to her face and lightly dragged the tip of his finger from the base of her ear along her jawline until it rested under her chin.

I loved Robert and Adeline's interactions! I couldn't stop smiling when they were together, especially with Robert's sense of humor. But I was nervous with how the story was going to unfold. Adeline saw that Robert wasn't a typical politician, he showed emotion, was heartfelt and it was impossible for her not to like him. And Robert was pulled in by Adeline and couldn't seem to keep away from her. But ultimately he originally interacted with her to get dirt on her father. So it felt like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and I was so nervous.

“You’re beautiful,” he said quietly.
Addie smiled in feminine pleasure that he appreciated her efforts, but her smile slipped when she realized he hadn’t even looked down yet— he was still looking into her eyes when he said it. He thought she was beautiful. Not her body, not her lingerie, not her curves.
Her . All of her.

The path this story took was emotional, and I even had tears in my eyes. But there were also moments between Robert and Adeline that were so sensual. Lauren Layne writes some of the steamiest and classiest scenes. So if you're a fan of romance, you're going to want to add this one to your tbr. Yours in Scandal was hilarious, heartwarming and scorching hot. I can't recommend it enough!

This book is like all of LL's books to me... after 2 pages I'm sucked in and can't put it down. This is a great 1st book to this series. I am already sucked in and ready for the remaining books because I want to know who is going to get their happily ever after too. Addie aka Adaline and Robert I absolutely loved. They are so different but absolutely perfect for each other.

This book is wrote with dual POV, romance, suspense and sexy times this is your book. I was rooting for Addie and Robert the entire time but I honestly didn't know how they would get their happily every after. I loved "Yours in Scandal" and cant wait for the remaining books in this series.
