Here are Five Things I Think you Should Know About This Book:
1. Andrea and her character Kimmy Gibbler are complete and total opposites
When I was growing up and watching reruns of Full House on Nick at Nite, I was always so entranced by Kimmy Gibbler. She's such a free spirited person who doesn't let the little things get her down. I always assumed that the actress who played her must be as wacky and exuberant as well! But that is not the case. After reading just a few sentences of Andrea's book I found that she's a very thoughtful and introverted person.
2. There are some great Full House anecdotes in this book
The reason why I enjoy celebrity memoirs are to get the inside scoop, and Andrea certainly gives it to us. She talks about all of her Full House cast members fondly and gives behind the scenes information on the show which is fun.
3. Andrea speaks openly about her struggles
And there's good reason for that... because she wants people to know that she's just like us. She speaks openly about her struggles with anxiety and depression and about how she sought help to deal with these issues and it's really inspiring. She also explains about how her divorce happened but how her family has worked hard to keep things normal for her kids. Her books is very transparent and just goes to show what a genuine person she is.
4. Old photos are the best, right?
Something I loved about this book was looking through all the old photos when I got to the end. A lot of them were of Andrea growing up and a lot of them corresponded with the stories she told throughout her book.
5. Everything is Full Circle
The title of this book is so perfect because Andrea's life really has come Full Circle. She started out acting on Full House, lived her life, and then found herself acting again in the spin off series Fuller House. She also talks about her college experience and her jobs in between acting and her passion for running. Full Circle, indeed.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! I really enjoyed it. If you like fun, celebrity memoirs then this is the book for you.
I’ve always been a fan of Full House but don’t really know a lot about the stars’ personal lives so I was excited when I got the opportunity from Netgalley to read this book by Andrea Barber. Of course, this book is not only about her FH experience, nor would I want it to be, but is instead a telling of the high and low points in Ms. Barber’s life thus far. She talks very openly about her struggles with anxiety and mental illness and depression and how she has found ways of dealing with them while also being famous or at least in the public eye. I commend her for being so honest in the hope that it may help and encourage others going through similar situations.
Andrea Barber is not the typical celebrity, as she is so much more down to earth than most. This book is well written and so relevant for anyone that struggles with depression and anxiety. Andrea's honesty about her struggles and what has helped her are written in a way that the reader feels like they know her. I highly recommend this one!
Like a lot of you, I grew up watching Full House on Friday nights, and more recently enjoying Fuller House on Netflix. When I came across Full Circle by Andrea Barber, aka Kimmy Gibbler, on NetGalley I was curious about this woman who brought this character to life.
Full Circle is a well-written, quick and easy read. Barber does a nice job of capturing her life but also inserting a little bit of humor, so that the more serious stuff doesn’t bring the reader down. This reader was a bit shocked at how different Andrea is from the character she played on TV. That is by no means a knock on Barber. It is absolutely a positive comment because despite her fears she brought to life this crazy character.
I was surprised to learn about Barber’s struggle with anxiety and depression. But it was a reminder that we are all human and all suffer in some way. Being a celebrity doesn’t make you immune to suffering. I appreciate her being honest and sharing because maybe there’s someone out there who needs to hear it. If this books helps one person seek help, that’s a win-win.
I have always enjoyed books like this that provide a behind the scenes look. I find all the work that goes on behind the cameras to bring these stories to life fascinating. If you’re a fan of Full House and/or Fuller House, I think you will really enjoy this book.

I have always been a big fan of Full House, so when it was announced that Fuller House was to be premiering on Netflix I was BEYOND EXCITED. I could not wait to find out what happened to all my favorites in their adult years.
This book really just made me love Andrea Barber/Kimmy Gibber even more. I really loved reading about her life and the stuff she went through in hollywood.
She was so open and honest about everything. I found it so interesting to read about her struggles with anxiety and depression. I feel we often forget that even celebrities can struggle with these things too. Their lives may seem lavish and carefree but they have anxiety and depression as well.
My favorite part about reading this book, is it was like reading about an old friend. Having grown up with Kimmy and the Tanners, I have always felt they were part of me as well. Overall, Andrea Barber is an amazing actress, mom, writer, and human being. I was so thankful to receive this arc and get to dive into her life with this detailed memoire.
Thank you to Andrea Barber, Netgalley, and the publisher for allowing me to review this book. It was absolutely amazing.
Growing up in the 90’s of course I was a huge fan of the show “ Full House”! I mean, who wasn’t. I would tune in and watch and even watch reruns still today. When I heard Andrea Barber, who plays Kimmy Gibbler on Full House, was releasing a book, I knew I had to check it out.
“Full Circle: From Hollywood to Real Life and Back Again” is her story and man, oh man was it good. I could relate In so many ways to what I was reading! Barber was honest, humorous and told her truth throughout this book. There were many highs and lows throughout her life. I also have anxiety and again, related to so much of what she wrote about. I wish her nothing but continued success. 4.5 stars.

A childhood fan of Full House who watched (at least some episodes of) Fuller House with a great deal of nostalgia, I'm exactly the target audience for Andrea Barber's memoir. I may now be a bigger fan of Andrea than I ever was of Kimmy Gibler- she talks very honestly about her struggles with anxiety and postpartum depression, the triumphs and pains of her personal life, and her family. This isn't a gossipy, tell all kind of story, but instead a very heartfelt story of one person who, while she appreciates the life she's had from being a part of Full House, has led a full and very normal life off screen as well.
This was an interesting read about her life in and out of Hollywood. It’s open and honest and I loved it!
I grew up watching Full House. DJ and her best friend Kimmy were my age and I, like many other girls, wanted to be just like DJ. I also had a zany best friend like Kimmy.
Little did I know, that the person behind Kimmy, Andrea, was more like me than DJ ever would be.
Full Circle from Andrea Barber is an open and honest look at mental health. Sure, there's a little backstage stories, but no rock and roll, breaking tv's kind of thing. Instead, this is the story of a woman who grew up on TV and then left to grow up in real life, to study on the other side of the world. Who got married, had children and then worked her way through a divorce and because a powerful, healthy single mother.
I may never have wanted to be friends with Kimmy, but I want to be friends with Andrea.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Andrea barber is known for playing Kimmy Gibbler on full house and Fuller house. In this book she talks about her acting career, her relationships, parenting, and mental health issues. I enjoyed how she was not afraid to talk about these things especially about mental health because it is a serious topic. This is a must read for everyone because there's laughter and tears all in one book and she makes you feel you aren't alone in this world
So after trying to get through the Ford's autobiography, I told myself I would not read another autobiography, but after seeing Full Circle by Andrea Barber (Kimmy from Full House and Fuller House) and reading the description, I decided to not let that shake me and gave it a read.
NOTE: I received a free copy via Netgalley for a fair and honest review.
MAN! I am glad I did. Not only does she explain where she was between the shows, it also gave a heartfelt description and discussion on mental health. At times I felt like I was reading stories from my own life, the panic attacks and postpartum depression, the love of New Kids on The Block, and how finding her support system and healthy coping mechanisms helped her to come back to Fuller House and be the wonderful quirky character we all loved.
I also found it interesting that she is more the opposite of the character she plays, and in coming back has found a way to blend who she is now with the character she is; making her more real and enjoyable. She owns who she is, accepts her limits, and allows herself to be who she is and not try to fit a mold of a typical Hollywood actress.
Five Stars out of Five, and a DEFINITE must read! Full Circle comes out November 12th.
I absolutely loved this book! Andrea Barber is an excellent writer and she deals with some heavy topics in a beautiful and realistic way. Sure, you'll get your does of behind-the-scenes info about her life on the set of Full House in the 1990s, which is super fun to read about -- but this book is so much more!
After Full House wrapped Barber went on to lead a very norm life--college, traveling, grad school, marriages, kids. She didn't intentionally step away from Hollywood but found many other things that fulfilled her in her time away.
At one point in her life her anxiety spirals out of control and Barber writes about it candidly. She really gets to the heart of what it's like to live with anxiety no matter who you are--famous, used to be famous, or regular person.
Highly recommend this book if you deal with anxiety OR if you love Full House. Or both!!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.
Thanks to Netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
I’m a sucker for memoirs so thought I’d check this one out. Andrea tells her story without trashing other people or coming off as really entitled. She mentions that she is very lucky and privileged. That is refreshing to hear! Sometimes celebrities can be pretty full of themselves and disconnected from reality.
Overall a concise and entertaining read. It didn’t drag on too much in any part.
I love Andrea Barber (and Kimmy Gibbler) so I was so excited that she put out this book. It’s something that anyone who is a Full/Fuller House fan, or anyone who has anxiety or depression should read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book!
I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I identified with it so much it was almost as if I'd written it myself (except for being Kimmy Gibbler!). Andrea's transparency about her struggles with depression and anxiety really resonated with me. The book was the perfect blend of humor, honesty, and realness. I loved seeing the world through her eyes!
I always loved Full House growing up, it was my Friends before I discovered Friends in late middle school/high school. When Aunt Becky was arrested back in March/April, I decided to rewatch Full House from the beginning. And yes, I watch Fuller House too. And if Steve and DJ don't end up together I will die. But, because of all that, I was super excited when I found out Andrea Barber, aka Kimmy Gibbler, was writing a memoir. Thanks to NetGalley, as always, for the early copy.
Andrea Barber was a child actress who was never really an adult actress...until Fuller House came around. That's something I didn't realize--but this book takes a deep dive into what those early years of her life were like, what she did after Full House, and why she was so happy to go back for Fuller House. And while this book does talk a lot about this, it's also a really deep look at Andrea's struggles with anxiety, depression, her divorce, and motherhood. It's not your typical celebrity memoir that dishes on drama--because Andrea doesn't really have any. She was just a normal person for a good twenty five years until Fuller House came back, and I liked that relatability of this book.
If you like Full House, you'll enjoy this book which is a quick read even if it's nothing groundbreaking. It's not like the most well written thing in the world. It's not full of drama and insider secrets. It's just a nice book about an actress we've seen on TV a lot, which is still kind of cool.
October 2019 somehow turned into celeb biography month for me. I honestly didn’t know anything about Andrea Barber beyond the tv character she played on tv. I found this to be an honest look into her life. She shares the highs and lows as well as her successes and failures. At times it got a little to deep in mommyhood for me, but it was an easy read and I found her openness in discussing her anxiety/depression refreshing.
I really enjoyed this book! As a big fan of Full House (though not yet a viewer of Fuller House) I really enjoyed learning all about Andrea Barber's life. I cannot pass up a good autobiography and this one was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I appreciate the struggles that Andrea has gone through. Her book was very honest, kind, and comforting and I could not have enjoyed it more! :) 5 BIG STARS from me!
Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this beautiful memoir.
Andrea Barber writes about everything from love to loss and joy to pain, mental health, fame, family and friendship, and finding yourself in this world. There was no part of this book I didn’t enjoy. My only wish is for more. And for everyone to pick it up and read it. You just might learn something, maybe about Andrea and maybe about yourself.
For fans of Full House, this book is a no-brainer, a must read. For people who have never seen an episode, it’s still an important book to pick up. If you have ever struggled with your mental health or dealt with loss and pain and heartbreak, this book is for you.
Thank you Andrea Barber for sharing your story with us all. You’re an inspiration and I wish everyone could be a little more like you. The world would be a better place.
What a fun book. Author gets real from beginning to end. Brings back memories. Loved it.
Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free,it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
