A well plotted and entertaining suspense, with a great cast of characters and a solid mystery.
I liked the characters and the mystery kept me guessing till the end.
Even if it's not the first in a series it can be read as a stand alone.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Review: No Man's Land by Sara Driscoll

FBI Agent Meg Jennings and her K9 partner Hawk are exploring an old abandoned building (a hobby called urban exploring) on their day off as a fun way to keep their skills sharp when Hawk finds a body. This leads them on the hunt through more dangerous buildings searching for victims and trying to catch a serial killer.
This engaging mystery shows the bond between dog and handler and the attention to detail makes you feel like you're there climbing rotten staircases and walking across decrepit floors. The characters are well written and interesting. I look forward to more adventures of Meg, Hawk and the other members of the FBI Human Scent Evidence Team.
Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC.

"No Man's Land" is a suspense/mystery. This book is the fourth in a series, but you don't need to read the previous books to understand this one. This novel did spoil a previous mystery's whodunit, though.

The characters were engaging, interesting, and reacted realistically to events. Meg and her K9 partner mainly focused their efforts on racing to save the next victim from within ruined buildings. The danger to everyone from the buildings and from the killer kept the suspense high. Her team found clues and eventually figured out who the killer was, but Meg's role was mainly to discover the initial body and track down subsequent victims. There was some bad language. There were no sex scenes. Overall, I'd recommend this suspenseful novel.

No Man’s Land is a very good suspense. I enjoyed the well written plot and the characters. I have read other books in the series and enjoyed them as well. I definitely will be reading future books in the series. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review review.

This one was interesting, starting out with Meg on her day off, checking out a potential new hobby, or at least a new way to train Hawk. I find Urban Exploring to be a bit odd. I can see the appeal of those wanting to see the crumbling places, but there is no way I'd go in there, would be too afraid for my own safety. Meg, unfortunately found a different bad aspect to urban exploring when she found a dead body and Meg being who she is couldn't let it go and found out more. The more seemed to lead to more and more and more, until Meg and her crew were in full out investigative mode, tracking down a killer, a killer who killed "old" people and left them in odd places.

The more that the team learned the more things seemed odd. When they finally figured out the "why" I was sad, sad that it was such a banal reason for people to loose their lives. Like the team I hated how things ended with the bad guy, feel he sort of found the easy way out.

In Sara Driscoll's fourth book in her FBI K-9 series, No Man's Land, Meg Jennings and her search and rescue dog Hawk, part of the FBI's Human Scent Evidence Team, become involved in a particularly heinous murder case where elderly people as old as their '80s are being left to die in abandoned urban locations, to live out their last moments alone and maybe in pain. Meg gets the case when Hawk finds the first body, entirely by chance, while he and Meg are on a non-work related exploration of a deteriorating urban building. In trying to track down the person's identity, they find that there are others--many others--and come up with a way to find these kidnappings before they become deadly. Through it all, Hawk and Meg place themselves in constant danger as they tromp through crumbling buildings after a killer who would think nothing of murdering them to continue his vendetta.

This is a wonderful story about how working dogs save lives. To Meg, her dog Hawk is a respected partner, no less important than any human and often more so. If you liked Alex Kava's working dog series (about Ryder Creed), you’ll love this book. If there was anything that bothered me about what should be the best book in the world (it's about dogs after all), it was that Meg seemed a bit full of herself, as though she was the one who had to do everything and if it went wrong, it was on her. Everyone had to compliment her for her good work or her fragile ego would collapse. I don’t remember feeling this way about earlier books in the series so it could have been the mood I was in--which is why I didn't deduct a star for it.

Riveting...a really exciting journey in finding the killer. I enjoyed the urban exploration backdrop. This was totally new to me and very interesting the way the author included all the urban sites in the storyline.
I totally enjoy the characters and the way they interact. And as always the dogs hold a special place in the story. And the reason for the killing was very original and a mini mystery within the story. I can not wait for the next Meg and Hawk installment. This is a stand alone book but reading the first 3 sure makes it more interesting...

Another excellent installment in the series, this time focusing on urban exploration after Meg and Hawk come across a body in an expedition. These books are always so well thought out and contain plenty of detail so the reader is never lost. I love the characters in this series, and the way they all work together. No Man’s Land was another brilliant book and I can’t wait for more!

Good book, very unique premise. I had never heard of URBEX, exploration of abandoned buildings. It sounded quite interesting. I also enjoyed the search and rescue dog element. As I was reading a realized how dangerous this type of work could be and how physically demanding it would be. The author had some great scenes in these abandoned buildings that had Meg, the main characters in some really close scrapes at high heights. it was pretty scary. Great cast of characters, and a great mystery.

Love stories with the FBI and special service dogs. This deals with a killer hurting the elderly, abandoned building leaving them there and the killer been at it too long. Meg wants to stop him, and with her team, they have to find a connection to this madman.
Good series, and the plot, catches you from the beginning.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion by Net Galley and Kensington.

This book was so good!! It is well written and holds your attention. It has action, drama and of course, the smart K9's. This is the first book I've read by this author, now I want to read the first three books in this series. Thank you Kensington Books via NetGalley for the ARC cop of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Book 4 in the FBI K-9 series featuring Meg Jennings and her partner Hawk, is full of high tension situations, and interesting facts of industrial production

Exploration of abandoned urban sites, or URBEX, involves trespassing into decaying buildings to explore inside with often dangerous conditions. When Meg's search and rescue (SAR) group is called upon to track a senior who has gone missing, they discover the world of URBEX. Someone is operating between a number of neighboring states and leaving seniors to die alone helpless in abandoned buildings. Finding a connection between victims leads to a killer whose exploits put Meg into life threatening situations. which trigger her deepest fears.

Learning about various industries was very interesting, especially Bethlehem Steel since it was a rival to the steel town I grew up in. Thalaikoothal, a Tamil financial structure was fascinating as well. So much research went into the plot I found this more than a cozy read.

Meg Jennings and her K-9 are part of an elite FBI evidence team and while they are exploring an abandoned building to sharpen both their skills, Hawk leads Meg to the body of an elderly woman. The woman was clearly not mobile, so how did she make it into the building? It turns out that she’s only the latest in a series of elderly people found dumped in neglected city buildings. When another elderly person disappears, Meg and Hawk, along with help from Clay and Todd, are determined to track down the killer before he strikes again. I love Driscoll’s books, they’re always exciting and drive home something I already know – dogs are a lot smarter than people

I really liked this book and I hope there are many more to come. I adore reading anything with service animals or German Shepherds most especially though, I love them in K9 and SAR positions. That said, the book also needs to gather my attention in other ways and the group of friends and co-workers is pretty fantastic.

This group of characters is entertaining and encouraging, it kept me motivated and while this is the very first I've read of this series it will not be my last. I cannot wait to catch up and then continue on.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
