Amanda is the youngest of five children—with four older brothers, which is why, despite being 22, she has been and is living a very protective life at home. She moves into town, into a place over the shadiest bar in town, where she works as bartender, hoping to break out of that image. About this time, Brady, for whom Amanda has had a “thing” for years, returns to town, but continues to see Amanda as his friend’s “little sister”. Amanda takes it upon herself to change his mind about as well as his attitude towards her. They hook up, but Brady eventually becomes the guy who begins to withdraw, giving him, in my mind, jerk status. Somehow, he does not or refuses to see how he is hurting Amanda. As time goes on, however, Brady does begin to see Amanda as a grown up, desirable woman, one who won’t wait forever.

The book was a good one, though not as good as some others I have read. I found Amanda immature, like someone who has emerged from a sheltered life (as she had). I really was not taken with Brady, who came across as a “user”. However, my idea of him did change as he finally realized how selfish and uncaring he was being. As one reviewer said, I agree I like stories about rekindling old loves or crushes, but it is difficult to like a character who seems to refuse to see what is before his eyes. This is a book that readers of the series will like, as well as others who enjoy western themed romances. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

Amanda is 10 years younger than Brady. Brady is Amanda’s older brother Riley’s best friend. Brady is also friends with Amanda’s 3 other older brothers and spent a lot of time at their house growing up. Amanda’s brothers have always intimidated any potential suitors, so, at 22 years old, Amanda has never been on a real date or had any romantic relationships. She decides to remedy the situation by moving out of her parent’s house and getting an apartment over the Coyote bar where she has gotten a job as a bartender. When Amanda lays down the law to her brothers about not hanging around her at the bar, Riley asks Brady to “babysit” her. Amanda has crushed on Brady for as long as she can remember, and Brady has always thought of her as a little girl. Amanda decides to go for it by asking Brady to teach her about sex….
This third book in the Cold River Ranch series is sweet, funny, frustrating and loveable all at the same time. Caitlin Crews captures the stubborn family dynamics really well and I completely enjoyed it!

Third story in the Cold River Ranch series. Another winner! Amanda is the wallflower who no one sees, including her family. Brady is her brothers best friend and isn't sure what he wants from his life. His time is almost up at the ranch and he needs to decide what to do next. Some other reviewers had issues with the 10 year age difference, which to me isn't a big deal as long as they are all over 21. Really enjoyed the story and hope there are more in the series.

I really liked this book of two people eyeing each other up, thinking they can't be together, coming together anyway then fighting for their future. The family dynamics around both Amanda and Brady add layers to the problems that have to be addressed. I love the care Brady takes with Amanda once he decides she is it for him and enjoyed the humor in the frustration that brings her. The family drama was handled well although not everything was solved or explained. The ending was very sweet and made me sigh in contentment.

And so the series goes as Amanda and Brady find their happy ending. Amanda is the only girl among a group of four older brothers and feels her life slipping by covered by their over protectiveness. Brady is her brothers best friend and the guy she has had a crush on forever. Brady is fighting demons and his family. The one thing he doesn’t want is entanglements. The story goes through some pretty hilarious conversations as Brady gives Amanda the lesson she asks for. In the end it seems that she becomes the one who teaches him how to forgive and move on to living a fuller and richer life.

The Last Real Cowboy is the third book in the Cold River series. This is Brady and Amanda's story. If you are a fan of the best friend's little sister trope, then you'll love this one. I always like when the characters have known each other since childhood. It makes the slide into love that much more believable. There is an age difference between these two, but it really didn't bother me that much. I liked their relationship and was rooting for them. I did also like seeing the changing relationship between Brady and his brothers over the past three books. Their ability to finally move past the awfulness of their childhood was really great to see. The one thing that did drive me crazy was Amanda's brothers. Their over protectiveness was a bit over the top for me. If I was Amanda, I would have moved further away than to downtown. But then, I have little patience for that sort of thing. Despite that one, I definitely recommend this addition to the series.

I really liked this book! Some were really put off by the age difference in the two characters, but having dated someone ten years older than me when I was eighteen, it didn't bother me. And yes, sometimes it takes a while for people to see you as older than they remember you if they've known you for a long time. Amanda had had a crush on Brady for a long time, so Brady definitely had some catching up to do.
I actually loved that after they determined that they were going to get together, Brady decided to slow things down a bit. She may have finally turned him on, but he was trying to take care of her along the way and not end up doing something that was more than she was ready for. He was as much of a gentleman as he could be.
I've loved the whole series.

A wonderful romance between two individuals that have been in the shadow of their siblings all their lives. Their attraction for each other is explosive. Well-developed characters with real issues. This is the first story I have read by this author and I really loved it. I will be reading more.

I liked this book. I thought it had a good amount cute and sweet moments scattered throughout it. I liked Amanda and Brady and the whole brother's best friend angle. The story was engaging and offered a good blend of emotional turmoil, drama, humor, heat and heart. My one negative with this book was that I sometimes felt that there were inconsistencies between what was said and the actual actions taken by the characters. It basically left me wondering if the author was scared to make a full commitment to the direction she wanted to go and just tried to balance things out in the middle and that really didn't work for me.

I loved Amanda and Brady together, the chemistry between them, once they admitted they liked each other was off the charts. The story line was very well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next.

In these three stories, we've watched each of the sons of Amos deal with his death and the repercussions of his treatment of his sons. All of the men had scars left by Amos. This is Brady's story and how Amanda helped him heal. It wasn't just a romance but also a healing of the bonds of the brothers. I really enjoyed this book. I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Enjoyable romance. Amanda has been very sheltered by older brothers. When she decides to break away she runs into bad boy cowboy Brady. Let the fun begin. the is the last of the brothers to fall.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. This can be read as a standalone but it’s book 3 in a family of brothers.

What an amazing contemporary cowboy romance with unforgettable characters and a beautiful story that immediately pulled me in and kept me totally immersed in all that was happening - I laughed, I cried, I sighed and loved every minute. I was so involved in the book I didn't want it to end. I loved the attraction and undeniable chemistry between Amanda Kittredge and Brady Everett. Ms. Crews has given us another winner in "The Last Real Cowboy" and I look forward to book four in this must-read series. Loved this book. The wallflower and her cowboy.

Amanda is ready to brake out of her shell. It’s time for Amanda to move out of her comfort zone and find her own place in the world. The first step is to move out of the family home. Step two get the love life she always wanted. Can the simple girl get the man?

Brady has his own family situation to sort out but when Amanda asks for his help. A deep feeling surfaced. He wants what she’s offering but feels its wrong to take it. He’s a friend of her brothers. She’s sweet and innocent. She could be a reason for him to stay.

I really enjoyed this book. Amanda is a sweet character and she heats Brady’s world up. I liked the family background story and the way their romance sparks one step at a time.

I do love a story with a cowboy. And who doesn't like a little forbidden love. That being said, the forbidden in this story seemed out of place when she is 22. I get she has been sheltered and her big brothers kept everyone away, but Brady not noticing her being a grown women until she was wearing a low cut tank top seemed a little odd. I did love how she loved him forever and I did love how in the end he fought for her. I didn't think they had the best chemistry. I did love how in the end she also stood up to his family even when she thought they never would be a couple. I think the best part of this book wasn't the H and h relationship, it was Brady and his brothers finally putting the past aside and becoming brothers again. 3 1/2 stars for me.

Too lengthy. There was so much added details that add their story just keep going.... going.... going.
95% of this story I didn’t feel Amanda’s or Brady’s connection or sparks, that only happened after the breakup in the barn, they were more like a virgin just given her crush the go ahead Alf deflowering her/ onenighter you just met. I’ve been nursing this books for days and after 4 days I just skimmed through parts that was to long. My attention was never held and I love to read romances that’s the main characters have a past together either old school loves, brother’s/sister’s best friends or just know each other since elementary school, this was only great at the last few chapters.

Amanda is fighting for independence, for herself, and from her family. Her brothers don't like it and decided their friend Brady is the perfect person to keep an eye on her. Amanda, having had a crush on Brady forever, also has a proposal for him--one he can't refuse. She wants it to happen fast, but he wants to go slow. Will it happen before he goes back to Denver?

Brady knows her brothers will kill him if they find out what he's doing with Amanda, but he knows he'd rather be "the one" than just some other guy. He's not worried about his heart--he doesn't do love. He's still trying to prove himself to his own family, so he understands Amanda. What he doesn't count on is Amanda facing his family head-on. For him. No one has ever stood up for him. Ever.

Two strong heads, fighting for a place in their families, find love, but will their plans for the future get in the way of the love they have for each other?

A fantastic story!

I've read the first two books in this series, and I liked book one but wasn't thrilled with book two, so I was hoping for a tie-breaker in the positive with this third book. Sadly, that was not to be. For me, this one was just a hot mess all the way around despite the presence of some favorite romance tropes. I tend to be drawn to cowboys, but wow - if Brady is The Last Real Cowboy then cowboys are in a sad state. And it's not that I even minded him being a jerk, or I wouldn't have if he'd shown half the heart I would expect in a romance. And maybe that's a big part of the problem, I never really felt the romance here. This one is also an older man/younger woman romance, which is usually right up my alley, but again, this one didn't work for me. Honestly, ten years difference isn't that much when the characters are both adults, but for Amanda and Brady, it felt like much more. The fact that Brady thinks Amanda is still in high school is a big ick factor for me. Then he finally notices her when he gets a glimpse of some cleavage? Here's where I refer back to Brady being a jerk. Then again, I can't really say that I liked Amanda any better. If she wants people to treat her like an adult, maybe she should try acting like one. And I'm sorry, but having sex does not make one an adult as has been proven by teenagers for generations. Then we have Amanda's brothers, who were just caricatures of the protective older brother in my opinion. They're just too over the top to be believed. And that brings us to the brother's best friend trope, which really isn't one of my favorites, but it's the least of my problems with this book. In the end, this one was just much too long with a lot of page time taken up by everybody disagreeing with everybody else, and the couple did not work for me. It isn't one I'd recommend.

Having read the one before this I thought I would read this one also. This one is about Amanda whom starts out as a good girl. Than there is Brady whom she wants to be the teacher the noise he makes is funny. These two will have you following along to see where this will go or not. But being this is set in a small town things will be tight. Do not forget how families can fight too. This will go in a direction though we will love to follow. This was one that give so much delight.
