Author Kelly Long has written an Amish retelling of Cinderella. This is the story of Beth Mast and Ransom King. Beth has issues to resolve, and as she comes to terms with her situation, Ransom fills a void for her. It is an excellent story with engaging characters. This book is a page turner. Kelly Long is a wonderful storyteller. I rate it 5 stars. A copy was provided by NetGalley, and these are my honest words.

A delightful Amish version of Cinderella without the Prince or the Kingdom but filled with the faith and love of family and community that fans of this author have come to rely on. There is a special kind of heavenly magic on Ice Mountain that adds mystique to this engaging story with wonderful characters that will appeal to all Amish and Christian fans alike. I read a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

As she comes to terms with her situation, Ransom fills the voids that she has so longed for and also feared. I have enjoyed this entire series and this novel, by Kelly Long was not a disappointment!! An interesting, but quite different, Amish story. There’s some serious themes in this story that are handled well, such as mental health and forgiving yourself. I had sympathy with Beth and her situation with her step-mother and step-sister. There’s some difficult family dynamics here that add to the intensity of the storyline. This book also has a little bit more kissing in this one than some Amish novels, and there’s a scene where preventing pregnancy is mentioned, but nothing steps over the line. I liked the Bishop in this one, and his character added much to the story, All in all, a good story that highlights hope and the Amish faith.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

"An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain" begins and ends with a wedding feast, hence the title. The best word to describe this story is "Cinderella." Beth Mast lives with her stepmother and stepsister, and acts as their servant, managing the entire household with the heavy chores, while they go off to frolics or sleep in. Ransom King has recently returned from apprenticeship with his woodworker granddad, and now he works with the family woodworking business. Both Beth and Ransom hold secrets that torment them, which eventually form a bond between them.

This book is not your typical Amish romance story however. Elements such as mental illness, emotional abuse, wanton behavior, and awakening desires are key aspects of this story. The plot moves along well, and keeps readers interest. Beth and Ransom are both likeable characters, and the reader will want to advocate for their growing romance. Beth's arrogant stepmother and stepsister provide a lot for the reader to despise as well. Ransom's Aunt Ruth and her menagerie of animals is a thoroughly lovable and very wise woman.

There were a few events in the book that I questioned, such as why the Amish community did not step up sooner to help Beth, since they were obviously aware of what was happening. I also wondered why Beth allowed herself to be put into dangerous situations without trying to save herself, although she began to develop a little more gumption by the end of the book.

This is a sweet romance with some sizzling romance scenes, although no overt sexuality. The Christian message is overt. Readers of Amish romance novels should find this one enjoyable, and will appreciate the race to the finish and the satisfying ending.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I have fallen in love with the Ice Mountain series having read every book in the series. This is one of my favorite Amish series of all times. The author's books take you back to a gentler time when of trust and caring away from the noise and confusion of modern times.
The author is amazing in her telling of the Amish life the way it really is, absolutely superb!
Holding your attention won't be a hard thing to do in this series.
I really hate to leave this series but am looking forward to starting her new series.

I thought I would finish out this year by being caught up on my reviews. I just finished An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain last night. Rather than let this book stew in my mind, I'm going to get the review done before the year is done.

This is a Cinderella story where a man's daughter (Beth) is living with her stepmother and stepsister after her father's death. The only problem is stepmom and stepsis expect Beth to wait on them hand and foot. Stepsister, Rose, has her eyes on a man who only has eyes for Beth. Rose was going to do anything she could to prevent any wedding plans Beth might have. She and stepmom, Viola, conspire to keep Beth away from Ransom, the man in question.

There are a lot of interesting aspects to this book. A great aunt of Ransom's comes to visit with her menagerie: a parrot named Jack, three dogs, a guinea pig named pig, a pig named Petunia; and before the end of the book another dog gets added to the bunch. Their antics make the book totally entertaining.

I am not sure how many of Kelly Long's books I've read, but this one is certainly memorable and entertaining. I especially like the twist Kelly put in the Cinderella story when Viola apologizes to Beth for how she's been treated.

This is a five star book, with two thumbs up, and a blueberry pie for dessert.

I would like to thank Kensington Books and NetGalley.com for providing the galley I read for this review.

An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain is the sixth in the Ice Mountain series by Kelly Long. Though it is the sixth, it can be read as a stand alone.
Beth and Ransom have been put together as attendants at a wedding, her best friend an his brother. Beth is very reserved and quiet, Ransom has recently returned to Ice Mountain after living English for a while.
They each have a hidden secret along with pain and insecurities.. Since the passing of her father, Beth is living with her step-mother and step sister in an almost Cinderella like life. Known for her pie baking, she throws herself into her baking and gardening. All along, quietly falling for Ranson.
This story has it all, romance, family life, illness, drama, everything we all live.
I was given an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review.

We can't go back, become young again, or undo something that has wounded us in the past. But to God, time is not immutable. He lives for and in all time. He holds our lives in His Hands and He is capable of going back in our pasts and bringing goodness or wisdom or, especially, truth from the things we have experienced into today.

Beth Mast and Ransom King are brought together with Beth's best friend and Ransom's brother wedding. They are paired in the wedding party and each are wounded deeply from their past. They have known each other as children growing up, however, they come together as adults. Beth lives with her step mother and step sister. A remaking of Cinderella in Amish terms. Ransom has come back home after the death of grandfather ready to start his apprenticeship. Both Ransom and Beth believe they do not deserve love because of a hurt in the past. When Ransom's aunt Ruth comes to stay at the King home with her party of misfit animals, her humor and candor breaks down walls that Ransom and Beth have built up. Being neighbors, Ransom seems to make his way to Beth after the wedding. He is drawn to her in ways that he does not quite understand. However, just like the Cinderella story, the step sister Rose becomes jealous and extremely un Amish with the budding relationship between Ransom and Beth.

This Amish romance was a nice change of pace as it touched on several crisis. One is depression and how it can escalate in ones life. The other is sexuality. Not in the erotic sense but in the sense it did not hide from it. You will have to read it for yourself to get my full meaning. I was a little surprised by it at first but the ending explained the need to address. I enjoyed the relationship between Ransom and Beth as they drew closer to each other and watching their faith grow.

A Special Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

I absolutely love these books by Kelly Long. They make me think of a time long ago and the way of life to make ones life. This story gives me faith in society again and the good that most people have in them. I almost would like this to be a TV series, but I do not think it would look like it does in my mind,

An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain is the sixth book in The Amish of Ice Mountain series. It can be read as a standalone for those new to this Amish series. It is a Cinderella type story with Beth Mast taking care of her stepmother and stepsister without so much as a please or thank you. The stepmother, Viola is critical of Beth who is a caring and shy individual. Rose, Beth’s stepsister, is beautiful and outgoing. Her mother wishes her to make a good match which means keeping Beth in the shadows. I felt bad for the way Beth was treated. I was happy when Ransom King enters the picture and sets out to help Beth and ensure that she has some fun. The book contains good writing and it moved along quickly. There are sad moments along with heartwarming ones. There is humor thanks to my favorite character, Aenti Ruth. Aenti Ruth arrives with a passel of animals that help her with Ransom and Beth. I like how kind she was to Beth and the special recipe she gave her. I laughed so often at her antics. I also like Bishop Umble. He is such a kindly man who cares for his flock. I loved the descriptions of Ice Mountain especially the beautiful ice cave. I was disappointed with the amount of kissing (some steamy situations) and intimate innuendo that was present along with the forward Rose. I like to read Amish fiction because they are clean stories (minimal kissing is fine). I also would have liked a more complete epilogue. This was a good ending to The Amish of Ice Mountain series. An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain is a sweet story about love, forgiveness, grace, hope and faith.

Wow what a powerful ending to the Ice Mountain series by Kelly Long. I was beginning to wonder if a wedding was going to happen by the end of An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain.

The Amish are human just like us, Englishers (non Amish person), are. They experience the same feelings felt throughout life. The same trials and tribulations within a lifetime with nature and other people. Also the same joyous moments in life weddings and birth of children, too.
They also encounter the same emotions as us when it comes to relationships, envy, love, heartache, true love and soulmate. Some of these feelings will come to light between the stepsisters and Ransom. Who will win Ransom's heart?

The Amish community helps each other but they also assist their neighbors in a time of need, too. Read how the Englishers and Amish come together to assist each other and a widow with children.

An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain is an Amish version of Cinderella. And it's told with three happy endings to three different relationships within the book.

I'm sad to see the stories of Ice Mountain come to an end, however I'm looking forward to reading Kelly Long's new book in the near future.

I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and this is my review in my own words.

An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain (The Amish of Ice Mountain Series Book 6) by Kelly Long is a continuation of Kelly's unique style of Amish Fiction.

Beth Mast has devoted all her time to caring for her stepmother and stepsister since the death of her father.

Not realizing her own beauty, she is surprised with the attention she is receiving from Ransom King. Being paired with him at her best friend's wedding was to start what was to become an interesting friendship between two unlikely people, each with a secret past they were unwilling to share.

We are reacquainted with friends for past stories and to meet new and interesting characters, including Ransom's Aenti Ruth who traveled with a menagerie of animal friends.

You will really enjoy this addition to the series.

I was given an ARC by the publisher by Netgalley for a fair and honest review.

5 stars in my book.
