would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this funny book
think voyage to the centre of the earth now add hotels and civilisation and this is the book to read...with dinosaurs and baddies galore
found it an interesting and fun read...
After reading the books discription I thought this book is going to be fun. It’s about dinosaurs.
The plot is set on Acheron Island in 1920. The main character Sir Edwin Crowe is a dino guide. His father discovered the island so when Selwyn Slade arrives at the island, Sir Edwin knows he is up to no good. So he want to find out what he wants there.
None of the characters is interesting enough and though there are action in the book those are just...boring.
So I am sorely disappointed because the plot was boring and Icouldn’t even finish it.
But I still would like to thank NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book.
If you go on a picnic, you had better have Sir Edwin Crowe, a fearless tour guide and his partner, Ape Man. On Acheron Island, dinosaurs rule. You can have a great vacation with all the amenities of a five star resort. That is until Selwyn Slade and his company comes, followed by other villains who want to make the island theirs. Get ready for the battle to keep the island protected from those who would take it for their own agenda. Sir Edwin Crowe, Ape Man, a beautiful torch singer and others will fight to the death for what they believe is right. Action, adventure and danger make this book a must read for anyone who likes dinosaurs and the excitement of an Indiana Jones type of adventure . I loved this book. It brings the age of Jazz and dinosaurs together in a way that works. So excited that this is a series. I received this book from Net Galley and Curiosity Quills Press for a honest review and no compensation otherwise..
I'm interested in everything related to Dinosaur and this book fit perfectly. It was fun, exciting and entertaining.
I look forward to read other books with dinosaurs :)

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC
Sir Edwin Crowe is a guide on Acheron Island, a South Pacific Island that is home to dinosaurs. When Selwyn Slade comes to Acheron, he means to own it all with only Sir Edwin Crowe and his Ape-Man friend James standing in his way...
I got this from Netgalley.
Dinosaur Jazz is a pulp adventure tale set on an island populated by dinosaurs in the 1920s. Sir Edwin Crowe, son of Horatio Crowe, the man who discovered Acheron Island, is the last male of the Crowe line and living as a dino-guide with his best friend and adopted brother, James the Ape-Man. When capitalism in the form of Selwyn Slade arrives, Edwin has some tough choices to make. Well, the choices aren't that tough. Edwin is a good guy and Slade and his friends are villains.
I love the setting of this book and pulp stories are always fun. I think maybe this book would do better with a different title, though. This one makes me think of a jazz quartet composed of dinosaurs.
Anyway, it's a fun popcorn sort of book, harkening back to Indiana Jones and Doc Savage. My one gripe with it was the narrator and his tone. The book is told by Sir Edwin Crowe, who is a well-mannered Englishman. His tone yanks me out of the action, a little too mannerly, a little too wordy. I had the same problem with Fury From the Tomb earlier this year.
Dinosaur Jazz was a fun read but I'm not sure I'll be reading the next book in the series. Three out of five stars.
