Trey and Charity have known each other with Charity being out of bounds due to being Trey's friends little sister. Sparks fly and new rules made for a future between these two.
Ebook from publishers and net galley with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
Charity has known Trey all her life, but she can still appreciate a fine-looking man when she sees one, and Trey is far more to Charity than just a fine-looking man. He may have always seen her as his best friend’s little sister, but Charity’s all grown up and her crush on Trey has grown up too. If only she could get him to see her as a woman. During a trip to buy Charity’s new barrel-racing horse, Trey’s floored—and a bit horrified—by how attracted he is to her. He wants to put her firmly in the friend zone, but his body disagrees. And when they get home, that attraction ignites all the way to the bedroom, leaving Trey riddled with guilt the morning after. He feels he’s betrayed the family who made his life bearable when he was young and dealing with a drunken, violent father. But what Trey is convinced was a mistake turns into so much more when Charity finds out she’s pregnant—with twins. Now, he’ll do right by her and support his children. He’ll take care of Charity, like he’s always done. The only thing is, Charity insists she doesn’t want or need his help, thank you very much. She’s still stinging from his rejection after their night together, and refuses to marry him based on some duty or obligation. She wants a man who loves her, not just one who’s determined to do the “right” thing.
This was a great story. I really enjoyed following both characters. Best friend’s sibling is a plot I do enjoy even though the accidental pregnancy trope is a hit or miss for me. I highly recommend.

Leslie North and Mary Sue Jackson are my go-to writers when in need of a sugary sweet story. And of course they don't disappoint with The Cowboy's Mistake. Charity has had a crush on her brother's best friend Trey for years. But of course, for Trey, Charity is a big no-no in the friends code book. Therefore he has always steered clear from her. But now she has asked him to come along to buy a new horse for her barrel racing. So, when they end up in bed during their days away, Trey realizes he has made a big mistake. Directly after, he tells Charity that he thinks this was a big mistake and this can never happen again.
A few weeks later, however, their 'mistake' turns out to be a twin... Determined to do the 'right' thing and realizing that he really wants to be with Charity, he proposes to her. Only to be turned down flat. Charity doesn't want a regret marriage. So, when Trey proposes she is enraged. She will have the babies on her own and she doesn't need Trey. Especially after he made it clear that their night together was a mistake.
For months, Trey tries to convince Charity that he doesn't regret his proposal and that the offer still stands. Will she accept? Find out for yourself in this cozy read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
THE COWBOY’S BABY MISTAKE is an intense romance between two people who have always had a hands-off attraction in the background since Charity was Trey’s best friend’s little sister. But she’s all grown up now (or so she thinks) and she wants Trey in her life. Needing a new horse for barrel riding provided the perfect excuse for an overnight trip with Trey’s expert opinion on horses being her reason for the invite to come to the auction with her – it just didn’t turn out exactly as Charity or Trey expected.
What you really need to know before picking up THE COWBOY’S BABY MISTAKE can be found in the Cover Description. I’ll be frank, it took me a couple of chapters to really like either Trey or Charity much at all. Yet, once they started acting like grown-ups and dealing with the situation they’re now in, plus their obvious feelings for each other my reaction to their romance also changed. I enjoyed my time in this world, stubborn people, interesting secondary characters and a love that went unacknowledged for too long eventually bring family and happiness to Charity and Trey.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
"I really liked this story and thought it an enjoyable and easy read.
The book had just the right amount of detail for me, the plot was well planned out and the pace for the book was spot on. The author have a lovely writing style and work well together, I have read a few books by this pairing now and they have all been addictive reads.
The characters worked really well together and I loved seeing them develop and I was rooting for them throughout the book!
It is 5 stars from me for this one, I really enjoyed it - very highly recommended!"
This is my first time reading this author but not the last . This was an absolutely awesome story. It was sweet, sexy and super romantic. It is a 2nd chance at love with a pregnancy surprise and it absolutely worked extremely well for this story.
Trey is best friends with Charity's brother and he is sorta a son to her parents. Thats how close a relationship they have. So while he lusts after her, he tries to stay away. But Charity wants him badly and one night they have sex. But the next day Trey realises what he did and he breaks her heart.
Charity tries to move on and I am so happy she does because the truth is Trey picked her brother over her and it took a long time for me to forgive him for that. That is until 5 weeks later she is pregnant. Trey now has a battle ahead. He has to make her understand that he was an idiot and he wants her and their child and he does work hard for that.
Trey is an awesome guy and he is So there for Charity that I fell hard for him as well and this was an awesome story.
THE COWBOY'S MISTAKE by Mary Sue Jackson and Leslie North is a wonderful small town romance. This story has at all secret crush, brother's best friend and an unexpected surprise! I loved it!
Charity has had a crush on Trey since she was little. But she thinks all he sees is the kiddo that hung around with him and her brother. How can she convince him that she is a grown women? One that simply adores that tall cowboy.!

"The Cowboy's Mistake" was a random pick - until now I've never heard of the contributing authors. But I definitely wasn't disappointed. It's an excellent read for a relaxed day at home.
Trey and Charity have known each other since their childhood and are friends ever since, just that Charity started wanting more than just that. She wanted Trey to see the woman she'd become, not as his best friend's little sister. A hot little sister Trey wanted more than he could hide, but nevertheless off-limits.
During a trip to find Charity a new barrel-racing horse, Trey’s in a real fix.
He wants to put Charity in the friend zone, but his body more than disagrees. Not being able to hold back all those feelings for each other any longer, Trey and Charity spend the night. A night that leaves him riddled with guilt the morning after, feeling he's made one of the biggest mistakes. The mistake soon turns out to be more, when Charity finds out she’s pregnant. Trey, insisting on helping and even marrying her right away, is being told off by Charity. She's still stinging from the rejection after their night together and refuses any help. But Trey realises he can’t live without her, and he’ll do all he can to convince her they were meant to be.
The story is somewhat predictable after reading the blurb. Nevertheless, I was still interested in reading the book to get to know new authors. Even though I somehow knew what was going to happen at one point, I couldn't put this book away. Something about it was intriguing.
However, I sometimes had a hard time sympathising with the characters, especially with Charity. Something just put me off, and I struggled to understand some of her actions. I felt like not all of them were quite reasonable - it seemed like she simply refused any kind of help coming from Trey, acting somewhat childish here and there. That's something that makes it harder for me, probably for anyone, to read and finish reading a book.
Despite all that, "The Cowboy's Mistake" is easy to read. It's a good choice for on the go or something similar. 3,5 out of 5 stars.
Trey and Charity has chemistry as friends and neighbors. They start to spend time together and it gets out of hand for Trey. I love that Charity makes him realize that he needs or wants to have her in his life for more reasons that he at first says. The writing is very good in this story and the characters are well developed. I really enjoy this story.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I didn't practically like this book. Charity claims to be grown up an adult, yet has unprotected sex? I just couldn't relate. Trey has a horse trainer business but can just leave it for weeks? It just didn't compute to me. I give this 3 stars
Trey has been Charity's crush forever, but since he was friends with her brother Austin he considered her off limits. When a brief push of passion gives them a wonderful night, it ends up with her being pregnant. Funny and sweet story of the two of them coming to grips with their new reality. A quick and easy read and one I highly recommend.
Charity has known Trey all her life, but she can still appreciate a fine-looking man when she sees one, and Trey is far more to Charity than just a fine-looking man. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Mary Sue Jackson and Leslie North are magnifysent and amazing writers.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.
Trey has had feelings for his best friend’s little sister for many years but was afraid to act for fear of losing his friend. Charity has loved Trey for as long but he treats her like a kid sister. Circumstances change when she needs his help but he handles it poorly. In order to win Charity over, Trey has to learn to trust and support. Readers will root for this couple to figure things out! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A lovely light romance, horses, cowboys, characters with sass, brooding lead, what more could you want. A great book to pick up and let pick you up.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
I love horses, so this book was perfect for me. Charity is very stubborn. Even when she knows that she shouldn't, it's like she can't stop herself. But then again, Trey is a take charge kind of guy. He's constantly stepping on toes. The Cowboy's Mistake, was fun to read.
