The French Grandmother
This sounded like a good book to me. Hadley is tracking down a story on her French grandmother Sara. She never knew much about the French side of her family and they didn't talk much about the past and the war time. When she found a box with memorabilia in her grandmother's house she wanted to know more which began her quest to find out the story of her Grandmother.
I really did want to like this book and I did just keep reading, however, it did not engage me and I was glad when it was done.
The reason I did not like the book is because it was very political and I do not care so much for politics and not in the books I read. It also was very boring, reading more like a history book than a novel. I understand it was a biography, but it was not interesting to read at all. I gave it a good chance and read to the end, but It was not for me.
Thanks to Hadley Freeman, Simon and Schuster, and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of the book for an honest review.
